Let me get the cons put of the way first. The only con is that it is an arduous 90 minute trek up a mountain path. But once you get there the fun starts. The cottage is set back in a clearing in the middle of the forest without any trace of civilisation on the immediate vicinity. The rooms are tastefully done . The team is amazing and dish up wonderful meals on demand. Data connectivity is not a problem here.

We are a group of 3 families with kids. The place was better than we expected and we had loads of fun. It's a well developed property with nice views of the mountains. It is right in between Nainital and Mukteshwar. The staff was courteous and prompt. We had the pleasure of meeting with the owner Mr. Ashok and he was gracious and helpful. Must visit place !

We had a fantastic time! The property is ideal for getting away from the routine. The trek at the start can get overwhelming due to the incline so booking horses is a good idea if you're not ok with an intense climb. The views are breathtaking to say the least and you can spend hours just soaking in the experience. The hosts were very warm and accommodative and the home cooked food was delicious. My better half even carried some local chutney back with her. We can't wait to be back soon. Thanks!

Everything looked up when we reach Matial; quite literally the Jilling Terraces. That climb to the cottage is serious business, but my whole family including my 60-year-old mom-in-law, managed to do it, albeit with a bit of huffing and puffing. Our dog on the other hand raced to the top. The views along the way are gorgeous and the air (if you’re from Delhi like we are) is so clean and crisp that catching one's breath is almost joyous. The first look of the cottage upon completing the trek makes you want to question why you even live in the city. We stayed at the Ringol Cottage, which is like an outhouse. If you’re the kind who wants absolute privacy and quiet time with the family, Ringol is what you should book. It’s very tastefully done and just the right size for 3 humans and a dog or two. The staff at Jilling is so nice that they start seeming like family after a while. The estate managers Dileep and his wife Bimla not only took care of all our needs, but were also very attentive of our dog (which he absolutely loved of course). The food at Jilling can be summed up by simple math - the three of us collectively gained 3 (healthy and hearty) kilos in a weeks time. Lovely homelike food cooked with locally sourced vegetables and ingredients. To sum this up, it’s been 3 days since we got back to Delhi and we’re already making plans to go back. Big thumbs up, Jilling!

This was one of the best places I have visited in Uttrakhand. The view was spectacular and the property is beautiful. The rooms are nice and spacious and offer a balcony to sit and enjoy the view. The staff is very polite and super accommodating. Visiting the Elphinstone in Jalna is an experience no one should miss.

Ramgarh retreat is a beautiful and meticulous house, where someone has taken real pains to keep things warm. Located in picturesque Ramgarh, the views from Villa are breath taking. We stayed here from 2nd to 7th July and thoroughly enjoyed the floating clouds amidst hills. The two gardens are well maintained and lovely flowers can be see everywhere. Even the rooms are relatively big with all the comforts imagined in a luxury hotel. Such facilities in hills is rarely seen. The food is simple and the cook Lalit prepares according to one's taste. The caretaker Vikram goes extra miles for guests.The owner Aditi was really helpful on phone.We will love to visit the place again.(the only unfortunate thing was there was some construction going on in the property at the time of our stay, which disturbed the peace of the place. Hence it was difficult to sit outside during daytime.) Considering the rest, it is one of the best properties to be visited in hills.

Arjun and his parents are great host as hospitality comes naturally to them. We stayed as 2 families with 3 kids in the Float Homestay for 3 nights. Cleanliness, local sightseeing guidance and the most amazing home cooked meals stood out for us. Felt right at home, relaxed thoroughly and the kids had a great time too playing around freely.

We had an incredible stay at Sunbird Retreat in Pangoon. Nestled amidst nature, this place offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The surroundings are lush and tranquil, perfect for anyone looking to unwind and recharge. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed with a rustic charm that blends beautifully with the natural setting. The staff were warm, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile, making the experience even more special. What truly stood out was the connection to nature, waking up to the sound of birds, enjoying the fresh air, and relaxing under the stars at night. Whether you're into nature walks, meditation, or simply soaking in the beauty of the landscape, Subbird Retreat has something for everyone. Our pet Tyson thoroughly enjoyed his stay and had the most amazing time of his life.

A quaint and serene location, completely away from the hustle of the nearby towns. Reaching the location from Delhi requires some effort especially during the last 2 hours, but the journey is much more rewarding with the views you get when compared with other hill stations. So suggest to leave Delhi early. Once you reach the destination, you are greeted by fantastic hosts who are extremely accommodating to your every need. The house pet, Prince Charles, is an absolute stud - friendly, happy and moves around wherever he feels like. You can spend hours basking in the sun, watching the birds, and Charles running around, or trek the nearby hills. Our pet, Frodo, was soon influenced by Charles and was itching to get free and roam around the place. The private bonfires with appetizers are great to continue the lazing around (a special surprise was served by Swati and Navneet on our last evening was mind-blowing - literally) Thank you Swati, Navneet and Charles for a gorgeous stay!

I stayed at Althea for a few days recently to celebrate my wife’s birthday and we had waited a long time for the day to arrive so that we can book this place for the special occasion. And Homfortable did not disappoint! It is a very beautiful luxury property with very gorgeous views. Fabulous location, great hospitality! There are multiple treks all around and the forest is very vast and beautiful to walk in. You feel totally disconnected from your daily life just by entering this place. We have stayed at many places but had such amazing food with this kind of variety after a long time in this Kumaon region. Kumaoni cuisine to Indian to Chinese to Continental to Italian - taste to classy presentation! Everything is just perfect. They also gave us an experience of cooking Bichu Ghas sabzi in a special Kumaoni kitchen with the chef. And we were served ajwain tea with aloo gutke while chatting with chef and giving the cooking a try on a desi chulha. It was a very unique experience! Most importantly, the special candle light dinner experience under the stars to celebrate my wife’s bday will always stay unforgettable! True to its name, Homfortable is truly that. Highly highly recommended.
