We had a great weekend, a group of friends with children! The house is very large and the pool area and the barbecue area are very good! Recommended!

Beautiful home located in a small village but close to everything . Lake Azibo for hiking, Macedo de Cavaleiro for refueling, everything you need for a very nice stay. We did not regret our choice . Let's recommend it without hesitation

Jose’s place, (Pedro is the Son of), has a lovely home in a quiet friendly village. The home was relatively easy to find, (could do with an Airbnb sign on the corner of the property, to help weary travellers). Once arrived and settled in, Jose is a BRILLIANT host, so welcoming, so generous and the home is comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed a meal in a neighbouring town, that Jose, happily booked for us, but there is all the available gear to cook for yourself. The area is close to the Duoro river, and Jose gives so many options for activities for this area. He is very passionate about the history and his town. We would recommend this home to anyone who is in the area.

I would say that this is a must-book space for anyone who is passing through the area and looking for a quiet and welcoming place. The photographs do not do justice to the house and only by entering it can you see how cozy the house is. And as if that wasn't enough, it is located in a beautiful and quiet area, recommended for all people with or without children.

A perfect place for a short stay. We had one night at Sabina's place and would recommend it - centrally located, comfortable beds and roof terrace with great views over the town and surrounding hills.

We loved the villa and its surroundings and Angela and Mario couldn’t have been more helpful. It is a short car journey into Mirandela where there are some great restaurants - recommended by our host. They were terrific value as well compared to restaurant prices in Porto! Unfortunately I picked up a head cold in Porto and had little energy to explore the local tracks. It’s a great place to stay with easy access to Tua Natural Parc and the Douro Valley, I would highly recommend it to our friends and family.

The house was perfect. The area around the house was even better. It's an awesome option to stay away from noise and rush. The assistance was also great. All our questions were answered in advance and during the stay. I highly recommend this place, and I'll be glad to come back. Note: there are up to 5 big dogs outside the house. If you're planning to come with your dogs, keep in mind that it will be difficult/impossible to spend time with them outside.

Armenio escorted us to the house on a path that was challenging for the car. We ended up in an idyllic spot. Very private and such a beautiful water with waterfall for skinny dipping in very cold water. Our dog Laika also had a great time. Armenio responded immediately to questions. Beautiful outdoor kitchen so we lived mainly outside. Enjoyed immensely at this address!

Very good stay. We really appreciated the warm welcome and tips for sightseeing in the area. The swimming pool is a real plus!

A charming place and perfect communication with Maria Luisa, as well as breakfast, complete and very well cared for. We used the BBQ, which is for common use, and we had our own kitchen with a fridge, which is very good, as well as a porch. Very comfortable beds. The only downside is that there were cigarette butts in the ashtrays on our porch from previous guests and hair in the shower drain.

Excellent stay. Everything was perfect. This was our third time visiting Bairro Do Casal.

The house is an absolutely charming combination of old & rustic with tasteful decorations and modern amenities. The design of place is really smart and well considered. It is located in a really, really quiet spot and is very peaceful and beautiful. The closest town (Mogadouro) is maybe a 15 minute drive away. And there are lots of places to visit in the area by car. Rui is a great host. Responsive and helpful. We were looking for a place to stay with our dog to escape the fireworks during the São João celebrations in our part of Portugal. Rui assured us we would have a peaceful time at his place and he was 100% right.

We can only report in superlatives. If you are looking for something very special, this is definitely the place to be! Esperanza sets the standards very high. Everything we experienced there overwhelmed us, starting with the remarkable cleanliness, the most delicious food we ate on our 14-day trip through Portugal, to the most important factor and that is the hostess herself. We would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to Esperanza: We were completely happy with you.
