It's 2.1 miles to the Indiana Dunes National Park (West beach), 11 miles to Indiana Dunes State Park, and a few blocks from Marquette Park (which includes a disc golf course and concession stand). It is also a short drive to the Miller Beach train station, which goes to Chicago. Unfortunately, requests for one night stays will not be accepted (2 night minimum).

Great place to stay! LOVED the lagoon access with kayaks and the walking distance to the beach. Home was stocked with so many necessities and extras (beach wagon, cooking supplies, games, plenty of towels & extra blankets, etc.). Some furniture a bit old and the smaller beds not super comfortable, but overall the value and other amenities well made up for it. Perfect to spend casual time at the lagoon or beach.

A cozy outdoor seating area is illuminated by string lights, with a modern couch and chairs arranged around a central fire pit. The grassy lawn frames the space, and a charming wooden structure serves as a backdrop, creating an inviting gathering spot for evenings.

Great place for a large group of people! Although it is surrounded by other homes, the trees behind the property give it a very private feel. It is a quick walk to the beach which is very convenient. All of the neighbors were very kind to our group as we walked around. We tried out the New Mexican restaurant down the street and it was delicious. This was one of Sylwia’s recommendations. She did a great job of giving us a list of things to do around the area before we arrived. There’s 2 train stations very close, which we utilized to get to Chicago. It was about an hour trip and very convenient to get the Portage/Ogden Dunes Station from the Airbnb. We were a little worried about the location considering Gary does not have the best reputation, but it was closer to Portage, and in a very safe area. We never once felt unsafe. All in all, Sylwia was great, the Airbnb was great, and I would recommend her listing!!

Our stay at Mary Kate’s home was so relaxing and was the perfect space for us to visit with family nearby. From the living room to dining room and bedrooms, furnishings were really well put together and very comfortable. There were plenty of pots and pans for cooking, a beautiful stove, and a nice big table for our family to eat and play games. We appreciated the local recommendations in the house binder and walks to the lake nearby were the icing on the cake. There was even a grill outside for us to use! We would definitely stay again for a peaceful retreat.

Beautiful lakeview property with a quick walk to the beach. This is not one of those AirBnbs that will have you running to the store because you need things - it had everything! From fire wood to a beach wagon to dry shampoo, it was stocked with everything we needed and felt like being at home. Host was very responsive and we had no issues.
