We have never been disappointed with food or service at Cafe O’Lei. It’s a great spot to have lunch or dinner in a nice atmosphere without the high prices associated with many hotel restaurants.

  • Ukulele Lessons With Gold Record Musician
First weʻll learn how to tune the instrument, then weʻll learn some basic chords, proper fingering, and a basic strum. Weʻll apply this to a simple song, and if thereʻs time left, we might move on to a second song. What makes my experience unique is the simple and efficient approach I bring to the learning process, as well as the cultural perspective. The student(s) will each need an ‘ukulele and a tuner. I recommend getting both on Amazon, and when the student signs up for the class, if they donʻt already have an ‘ukulele and tuner, I can give specific suggestions as to which reasonably priced items to get. Other things to note You do not need to be a musician or to have ever played a musical instrument before in order to take this class, but if you have some experience, it will help the speed of learning. If possible, I recommend viewing this experience on a computer or tablet.

  • Try Scuba at Turtle Town No Exp Required
Fun Easy Safe Diving for Everyone! { Please read all information carefully before booking } (COVID-19 UPDATE: I am currently available to host this experience as long as you can visit the Island safely. I am also taking standard health and safety precautions during the experience as well.) No certifications or experience necessary :) I will be offering a full service Scuba Diving experience . For new divers there will be a 30 minute class discussing the equipment and safety procedures. We assemble our gear and leave from shore to swim out to the reef. We have a great scuba dive, return to shore, take apart the gear and the experience is concluded. Please be aware that this is a SHORE Dive not a BOAT dive. Maui has amazing shore diving and you will see all the wildlife we have to offer right from the beach. We will start our dive in water no deeper than 10 feet to make sure everyone is comfortable. Typical total underwater time is 40 minutes. Private bookings are also available for those who may want extra attention or have concerns about their swimming abilities. As a general rule you should be able to swim 100m without flotation or assistance. Please feel free to message me for more information as I can accommodate non swimmers under certain circumstances. As much as Also, do not fly 12 hours after our dive. Mahalo and I hope we can dive together! -Charles

  • Pottery Class-Make a Mug or Bowl on Maui
This Is a really fun and easy class for anyone!!! You dont need to be artistic to make something amazing on the potter’s wheel. The throwing explanation and demonstrations will walk you through the process step by step in 3 phases: 1. Centering-getting the clay centered 2. Opening -forming the bottom 3. Pulling-making the walls of the vessel After walking through the first pot you will have time to play and practice more on your own. There is plenty of time for practicing and people make on average between 1-3 pots. The design of this class is to feel the almost magical experience of turning spinning clay into something functional like a cup or bowl. After your class I can finish, glaze, and fire the pots you choose to keep for a small shipping and firing fee. I ship domestic or international depending on where you live. So no matter where you are from you can still get your hand made creations delivered. If you are interested, we can also donate your pots to a local animal shelter annual sale. Other things to note Have you ever wanted to make your own mug or a gift for some one? In this class everyone usually makes something amazing. Running late for class? Maui time is in effect so just enjoy the drive.

  • Hawaiian Style Surf Lessons
Aloha!!!! We will be getting you well equipped and all geared up for your activity. We will provide water shoes, rashguards, surf board and don’t forget us your favorite instructor on Maui. It will be a 2hr long cultural surfing experience where we will share the basics and safety of surfing and its rich history. The surf location is located in the center of Lahaina and always has waves of all sizes so it’s a perfect lesson for kids, couples, families, beginners and for experienced surfers. We have both beginner and advanced course for all ages. *If you have children under the ages of 10 please feel free to reach out to me and I'll provide you with more information about young keiki (children) lessons. As we surf we will be seeing the landscape of the Hawaiian islands and the ocean floor’s abundance of wild marine life like turtles and fishes. We never say goodbye to our guests, friends, and family, for we teach the true meaning of Hawai’i and say A Hui Hou! (until we meet again). That is the Hawaiian culture and the Aloha way of life here in the islands. Other things to note: - Please check in 15 minutes before your lesson begins. - Apply reef friendly sunscreen. - Bring towels and reusable water bottles :)

Your guide to Maui

All About Maui

Known as the Valley Isle, Maui has exactly what you want in an island vacation, whether that’s beautiful beaches, vibrant snorkeling, lush waterfall hikes, championship golf courses, or world-class surfing. Each part of the over 700-square-mile Hawaiian island offers a slightly different experience: Head to West Maui to stroll the bustling beachfronts of Kapalua Bay Beach, Kaanapali Beach, and Kahana, or peruse farmers’ markets in historic Lahaina or mellow Napili. In South Maui, upscale Wailea is famous for its ocean-view luxury condos and five-star spas, and nearby Kihei is a great central base if you want to explore Haleakalā National Park and the verdant eastern parts of the island. No matter where you stay, be sure to spend some quality time relaxing on the lanai.

How do I get around Maui?

The easiest way to get to Maui is to fly into Kahului Airport (OGG) on the western side of the island. If you’re arriving from another part of the archipelago, you may fly into one of two additional airports, Hana (HNM) and Kapalua–West Maui (JHM), which are served by inter-island commuter airlines. Rideshares and taxis are available across the island, but a rental car is the best way to get around—especially if you want to drive the famous Road to Hana. Reserve one at Kahului Airport or Kapalua Airport.

When is the best time to stay in a vacation rental in Maui?

There are essentially two seasons in Maui, but year-round, the temperature stays nice and warm. The summer season, May to October, is a little hotter, with temperatures in the mid-80s. Winters are slightly cooler, with temperatures in the high 70s. August, September, and October are the wettest months, but you can expect passing rain showers throughout the year.

The weather can also change depending on where you are on the island, thanks to Maui’s many microclimates. It tends to be drier on the leeward (west) side of the island and colder at higher elevations, so don’t forget to pack warm layers if you plan to visit the summit of Haleakalā.

What are the top things to do in Maui?

Haleakalā National Park

It’s worth the effort to reserve a permit to visit the 10,000-foot summit of Haleakalā, a dormant volcano, for sunrise. Once the sun is up, follow some of the park’s well-marked hiking trails through varied terrain, including alpine desert, shrubland, and bamboo forests.

The Road to Hana

The epic 52-mile Hana Highway winds through some of Maui’s most lush and dramatic scenery. With no stops, the drive takes only about three hours, but take your time: Explore some of the secluded beaches and waterfalls along the route, and be sure to stop at roadside banana bread stands when you get hungry.

‘Ohe’O Gulch

On the southeastern side of Haleakalā National Park, ‘Ohe’O Gulch is sometimes called the Seven Sacred Pools, but this natural wonder actually contains more than a dozen pools as well as several waterfalls. The river valley is also just 10 miles outside of Hana, making it an easy addition to a drive along the Road to Hana.

Molokini

The shores and reefs around Maui offer outstanding snorkeling, but Molokini, a volcanic caldera off Maui’s northwest shore, is the only protected marine sanctuary in the state. Join a boat tour to experience the incredibly clear waters, which are home to more than 200 species of fish, as well as turtles, octopus, and the occasional whale shark.
