Veronica is an amazing host and we had a wonderful time staying there. The place is true to the name - A Time to Chill. We felt right at home as soon as we stepped inside. The kids had a fun time playing arcade games and Foosball. Our evenings were spend mostly in the backyard either in the hot tub or having fun around the bonfire. We couldn't try the pizza oven and felt we should have stayed longer. Definitely, a highly recommended place and we will love to be back soon.

Shenandoah Getaway Cabin on 5 Acres w/ *Hot Tub*

A beautiful cabin, well updated, and well located. Loved that Maybelle’s is just a stone’s throw while at the same time you are nestled in the woods to getaway. Beds were super comfy, and creature comforts were available. Made for an excellent blend of rustic look/location while having new conveyances. Absolutely recommend and also want to say how I appreciated the personal touch of host reaching out personally to ensure everything was going well. Thank you!

Shenandoah Stargazer with Sauna

This was an incredible Air BnB with amazing views. We took the drive up the mountain after it rained which made it a little slick in some spots but manageable in a truck. It's not a bad drive if you have experience driving up and down mountains. The cabin was secluded and made us feel like we were the only ones up there. Both the outside and inside were very well maintained and clean. The views from the deck were stunning and made waking up to see the sunrise worth it. We were provided recommendations for local wineries, breweries, and stores that were just as amazing as the cabin itself. Culin and Danielle really put it a lot of effort to make sure we took full advantage of things to do in the area. They even sent us directions on how to access a portion of the Appalachian Trail from the cabin. It was perfect for us and two Australian Shepherds. We will definitely be back!

Outdoor Kitchen-Firepit- Deck-Gameroom-3 Levels

BenRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Had a fantastic stay and the whole crew greatly enjoyed the house. It was full of friendly and thoughtful touches accommodating the dog, kids, and parents seamlessly. The little play den upstairs was a big hit with the kids and the lack of decoration/clutter was excellent given little hands. (Kids under 5 yrs old). The house was thoughtfully decorated, but was absent of erroneous small items that could be tempting to young kids. The accommodations were comfortable and thoughtful with plenty of seating and spaces for people to enjoy time together, meals, and a quiet drink over looking the backyard or sun room. The sun room was a big hit and the backyard space was fantastic for everyone to enjoy the setting. We look forward to returning and enjoying the house and its amenities again.

It was even more perfect than the photos portray. They did a truly phenomenal job with the place. Everything was in working order and there was plenty of supplies on hand. I also greatly appreciate the level of cleanliness in this property. It stood out as well! I hope we get the chance to return here again soon!

We loved the quiet home it was everything we were looking for and more. Would recommend this to anyone going to the area. Lots of fun things to do near by the national park, caverns & apple house. Couldn’t beat this trip if I tried. I can’t thank the host enough for a great experience. We didn’t want to leave lol.

Becky’s place was wonderful. It was clean and we had so much fun getting away for the weekend. The location isn’t the easiest to find with a GPS and I wouldn’t recommend getting there for the first time in the dark, but once you know where you’re going it’s wonderfully secluded. Becky was so kind and helpful as well.

My family was thrilled with their peaceful retreat in the mountains. Brenda made my mother’s birthday an enjoyable and unforgettable weekend. She made sure to hang a birthday banner for her, provided clear and thorough instructions on how to use all the amenities and the house was well-equiped with everything that a family needs. My family and I will definitely be coming back. The scenery is beautiful, quiet and spacious. We are eternally grateful for an amazing experience and happy to have spent some time away from the busy and loud city. Thank you!

Luray Mountain Home: Game Room, Hot tub, Fire pit!

JorgeRating, 5 stars1 week ago
My family and I had a great time staying in the home. The images did not do it justice. We were shocked by the beauty of the views and scenery from their home. The property was large and our kids had a blast running around and playing in the treehouse. Highly recommend the place if you like nature and scenery. The train did pass a few times but our kids (ages 2-7) were fine with white noise at night. It didn’t disrupt our time at all. We also really enjoyed the game room. My wife loved using the kitchen and we were thankful they kept some spices on hand. The home is very kid friendly and one of the best airbnbs we’ve stayed at. We grilled, watched the stars from the jacuzzi, picnicked and explored the grounds. We even got to use the laundry room with a quick help from the host. Highly recommend!!

Your guide to Massanutten

Welcome to Massanutten

Located in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, Massanutten has grown into a popular ski destination. In the late 19th century, the area was the site of a health resort, built on the reputation of the natural spring waters that flowed nearby. After that popularity waned, it was developed in the 1970s into a winter sports haven, centered on the dramatic Massanutten Peak, a 1,500-foot tall mountain at the southern end of the Massanutten Mountains near Harrisonburg in Rockingham County. Now the area draws outdoor lovers year-round, whether it’s for a round of golf in the spring, hiking in the summer and fall, or speeding down the famous ski trails in the winter.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Massanutten

The best times to head stay in one of Massanutten’s vacation rentals all depend on what you’re looking to do there. Snow sports are, of course, the major draw of the winter months. The area typically sees snowfall from November to April, with the most snow around late January and early February. But there are just as many outdoor activities here that are suitable for the snow-free months. July through October is a popular travel period, especially for golfing, mountain biking, and other outdoor activities. Every season brings its own kind of celebration, with Snow Moon Fest (complete with an Arctic plunge) in the winter, Summer Jam for Independence Day weekend, and Fall Festival in early October.

Top things to do in Massanutten

Year-Round Sports

The 6,000-acre mountain is host to the Shenandoah Valley’s best slopes, whether you’re looking to ski or snowboard. But it also is home to other winter favorites, such as snow tubing and ice skating. Even when there’s no powder in sight, the outdoor activities here are endless: fishing, golf, hiking, kayaking, river tubing, running, tennis, volleyball, and swimming. Plus there’s an 80,000-square-foot waterpark that’s always a temperate 84 degrees Fahrenheit.

Massanutten Ridge Trail

The trailhead for one of the best hiking trails in the area, the 4.5-mile out-and-back Ridge Trail, starts at the parking lot at the end of Del Webb Drive. Follow the blue blazes from the wooden steps, but be aware that the trail is considered a challenging one since the ridge can be rocky in places. But the payoff of panoramic mountain views is well worth the climb.

Shenandoah National Park

It’s just a 20-minute drive to the 200,000-acre park’s Swift Gap Run Entrance, one of the four entrances to the scenic Skyline Drive, a 105-mile route along the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains, built in the 1930s to showcase the area’s sprawling beauty. Adventure seekers can also find hiking, climbing, birdwatching, and fishing in the park.
