Beachfront vacation rentals in Lunan Bay

We had a lovely stay with my elderly parents. It was perfect for their needs. We took the wheelchair along the path to the station pub.. Great beach access for our dog. The hosts messaged me back right away when I had a query. A lovely 4 days.

We were looking for a chilled break which also met our dog’s needs. The cottage is in a spectacular location, facing the sea with the coastal path right at the bottom of the garden. You do need a car to access this property which sits at the end of a single track lane, adjacent to the A92. The cottage was spotlessly clean, homely and very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped for self catering. We were very lucky with the weather and were able to enjoy the enclosed garden area. The coastal path walk to Johnshaven is very pretty and only takes around 30-40 minutes where there is a pub/restaurant serving great food, excellent cafe..”Hidden treasures” and a lovely gift shop, the Starfish Studio, as well as the harbour. Claire gave us some very useful advice about other dog friendly eating venues around the area including Charlton Farm and Picsnax at St Cyrus nature reserve/beach. St Cyrus beach is stunning and is a must visit. We plan to return soon ..so much to see!

Lovely cottage on the harbour. Spotlessly clean with everything you need. Comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen. Great location for exploring Fife, we loved area and its history. We even found a few very small Elie Rubies on the beach 😊 We will definitely return.

Helen's house was perfect, with terrific vews of the sea and harbour. The house is in a brilliant location and really nicely presented. Helen was very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely return.

We loved our stay in Anstruther. Great apartment- very comfortable bedrooms, living area. Well equipped kitchen and great shower. Loved the views too. You need to park about 5 minutes away from the apartment in the back streets. Great access to the Fife Coastal Trail and we loved the walk to Crail Harbour and back, even when windy.

Nadine’s place is a beautiful newly renovated house in walking distance from central St Andrews. Everything was incredibly clean and tidy, you can’t fault it! Would definitely stay again

Had a wonderful stay for a couple of nights. Helen and Nigel were perfect hosts. Lovely location and very quiet at night. Plenty parking right outside the accommodation. A lovely comfy king size bed, good shower and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. As we had our dog with us, the enclosed, sheltered courtyard garden was a plus. This was perfect for us and thoroughly recommend.

Perfectly placed to watch the water, plus sunsets and sunrise sky around the Tay River - changing every day! A home from home feel with everything needed to make our stay comfortable and restful. Richard was a great host. We followed his recommendations for eating out and were very pleased - especially the Harbour Cafe for lunches and the evening welcome from locals at the Cobbie Inn. We DID spot a dolphin from the accommodation and, more excitingly, an otter!

Fabulous accommodation, which is in a perfect seaside location. Everything we needed was there. Excellent restaurants, pubs and takeaways were all very close. There is the best open air pool in Scotland, ( I swam 6 times). We had a great week and will probably go again next year. Thanks for a lovely holiday, Neil and Jan

Great cottage, very well kitted out, lovely touches and the previous reviews on the comfiness of the beds was very accurate. We managed to sit out for breakfast in the beautiful garden. Great location, easy to get around. Would recommend a walk down to Pan Ha and some food in the Harbour masters cafe ( book first) We discovered that we had lost the front door key at 9pm on Friday night. Response was so quick it was so appreciated. We had tired kids and just wanted to go back to the house. We got a replacement key within 20 mins! If they will have us back we would definitely book again 😁

Really enjoyed our stay in Cellardyke. The house exceeded my expectations - gorgeous views from the bedrooms, lovely sheltered garden that gave us direct access to the shore for beachcombing and sea watching. The kitchen was well equipped and the seating area spacious and comfortable. The area is gorgeous - we walked to Crail and to Elie; swam in the sea pool at Cellardyke (wish we'd used the sauna on the beach) and had a day in St Andrews. The house really was perfect, I'm sure we'll be back.

Kirkcaldy is a nice town to stay in when visiting Edinburgh. Here you get the peace and quiet and the proximity to the sea. Food and drink are much cheaper here and the people are friendly. The thing to keep in mind is that the train one way to Edinburgh costs about 11 pounds per ticket, I recommend to buy tickets with the app Scotrail. It takes about 10-15 minutes to walk to the station from the apartment.

We loved Allan and Lucy's place in Broughty ferry! It's huge and perfect for our party of 5! The town is amazing, so much to do and see, and Dundee is only 4 miles away. Such gracious hosts, we would love to visit again! I would recommend this place more than any other Airbnb I've ever stayed in. Its truly the best! Thank you Allan and Lucy ❤️

This a homely and characterful property right next to the sea on the edge of Pittenweem. It’s a short walk to several lovely cafes, a basic local store and the like. Though there is no direct car access, there is free public car parking 100yd or so away and we never had a problem finding a space. The house is warm, clean and nicely furnished with a spacious kitchen/living area and good-sized bedrooms. It was ideal to feel tucked away from the main tourist areas of Pittenweem - it was remarkably quiet at night - while retaining quick and easy access to amenities. Pittenweem is a great base for exploring Scotland’s beautiful east coast, with multiple beaches a short drive away. The only downsides were not having a supermarket within walking distance and having to take our own refuse and recycling away due to the lack of kerbside collections. Overall this was a delightful holiday home and location for our family and we would stay again.

Had a wonderful time in a fantastic location in a fabulous house. Would highly recommend staying here golfer or not.

Lovely old cottage with great space for a big family group. Views over the habour were beautiful. The house was set up well with good facilities so we could cook for a large group. The village has a good range of shops and the beach has a beach toy library that the kids loved. Would love to come back.

Really enjoyed our stay at Suzy’s place which is an easy walk into the centre of St Andrews but in a quiet area. The apartment had everything and Suzy provided various complimentary welcome snacks and basics to make initial moving in very easy. Thanks Suzy.

Carolyn's place in St Andrews was a great place to stay for our golf trip with 4 people. It was easily walkable to town to grab a drink and bite to eat. St Andrews Golf Course right in town as well and within reach. The other area world class courses are all within a 25 minute drive. The hot tub was a nice way to relax the muscles after each round of golf. If coming back to St Andrews we would love to stay here again.

We stayed at Jennifer's place between Christmas and New Year. The house is really lovely, well equipped and very spacious - perfect for our family group of 8 people. Loved the fireplaces in the living room and main bedroom and big supply of firewood - which made the house really cozy. The main bathroom is huge and has an absolutely gigantic bath. The loft room is another highlight, with beautiful views and lots of space. The location is fantastic - right next to the beach and with some of the rooms having a wonderful view towards the sea. The centre of town is a 5 to 10 minute walk away and there are lots of restaurants, cafes, bars, shops etc. within easy reach. The booking and any queries we had were handled by Leigh-Anne and she was super-efficient, warm and helpful. We are definitely hoping to return the next time we are all in Scotland again and would very much recommend.

Lovely house with an adjoining cottage suitable for get togethers with family and friends. The property looks down the hill to Crail Harbour. Short walk to the property as no immediate parking due to the idyllic position. Hence might struggle if you have mobility issues. Lovely garden to the front. Overall we had a perfect stay and would highly recommend.

We all had a brilliant time. Over 3 floors, so you need to get your bearings... Great accommodation, large kitchen, long dining room table for eating, drinking and playing games, comfy beds, loads of hot water, plenty of towels. Quiet at the back, plenty of bird song and nice and peaceful. 2 sun terraces, upper and lower which catch the sun from early morning to late afternoon. 10 min walk to all that was happening in Anstruther. Highly recommended, even the weather showed up....

The house was stunning in terms of the inside and the outside views. Plenty of room for our group to enjoy family time together and all the amenities you could need. Having direct access to the beach from the garden was amazing, especially for the children. The conservatory was perfect for taking in the sea views. Lovely peaceful location. Would definitely consider staying again!
