Jungle House (dinner/b&b)

LauraRating, 5 stars2 months ago
After traversing the length and breadth of Vietnam for 4.5 weeks, I am so pleased to say this was the most peaceful place I stayed. No traffic, no screaming kids, no karaoke, no construction- just peace. Arriving at Jungle Cottage felt like taking off a pair of tight shoes after a long hike. Chatting to Mike on the terrace, listening to the rain, drinking (complimentary) wine may well be one of the highlights of my trip. If you want to while away the hours with conversations meandering from Lao history, Hong Kong nightlife, ceramics, Cherie Booth, Winnie the Pooh, and everything in between, you’ve come to the right place. Mike is a man with the life experience of someone who’s lived 400 years, he would annihilate anyone at Trivial Pursuit Xouchiet is as open hearted as they come, and a talented cook, and lovely person The room is very comfy, and for anyone put off by sharing the house, don’t be- it’s an entirely private annex and I heard nothing from other residents Khob chai x
An inviting lounge area is shown, featuring comfortable seating arranged around a wooden coffee table. Natural light floods in through open spaces, highlighting vibrant green accents in the decor. Bicycles are visible in the background, ready for exploration of the surrounding scenery.

Papaya Spa At Home 1

EdRating, 5 stars5 months ago
There is plenty to say about Jean Louis and Vinh's place. The location itself is tucked away from the main road giving you plenty of peace and quiet, despite the occasional barking dog or rowdy neighbor. The dogs of our hosts are some of friendliest and will frequently chill with you. Prepare for mosquitos if you are prone to bites. Left behind an electric racket for the next guest and Vinh always provides other mosquito repellents. Our host makes you feel like you are part of the family, occasionally providing us with fruits/veggies, local insights, and pretty much anything else you need. Any concerns or questions are addressed immediately. Although the place itself is a bit rough around the edges, the heart and soul of it is strong. Lao hospitality at its finest. We were even offered to move to a different room if desired. Pics could use a bit of updating, as the garden isn't as lively as shown, not a deal breaker for us though. You grow to love the place eventually! Khobchai 🙏
The traditional wooden house features a steeply pitched roof and intricate carvings along the gable. Green foliage surrounds the structure, illustrating a harmonious connection with nature. A clear blue sky provides a serene backdrop, highlighting the handcrafted details of the building.

Ban Anoulak - Cultural Preservation Village

AgnesRating, 5 stars4 months ago
This is an amazing place! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. If you want to experience genuine Tai Lue culture, go there. We were welcomed by Pannavith and his family like relatives. The children came and played with ours and we all cried when we left. Pannavith is so passionate about his culture and willing to share and explain everything to his hosts. He is a brilliant young man and can offer very insightful perspectives. The workshops they offer are incredible value. It is not merely a quick demonstration of a craft, you actually get to craft something from start to finish in how much time it takes you to finish. The meals are wonderful and varied, a true culinary experience. Every day we discovered a new ingredient or dishes we had never tasted before. Everyone in the family is so generous with their time and knowledge and open their heart to their guests. An unforgettable experience, thank you so much to whole the family!
The entrance features double blue doors leading to a colorful corridor. Potted plants with vibrant green foliage are situated on either side of the entrance. The word 'Love-in' is displayed prominently above, welcoming guests into the space.

Simple breakfast but enough to start your day and coffee and available all day long in the lobby area. Great wi-fi. We loved our stay. We will come back. Thanks for your great hospitality.

I am now staying here for 4 more days. It was a little far from the city center, and it was higher than when I stayed in Rouen a few years ago, so I tried to stay only one day and move to another accommodation, but the moment I entered here, I couldn't immerse myself in the charm of the accommodation as if I was enchanted. The friendly host couple are the best hosts I've ever met. Beautiful views, clean room conditions, convenient facilities, quiet and friendly staff.. Breakfast with organic vegetables, fruits, coffee, and tea grown directly from the garden is served every day, but it was dignified and luxuriously prepared and tasted the best. I was most fortunate to find this place in Luang Prabang. I would recommend it to anyone coming to Rouen.

Great accommodation, beautiful room with balcony, pretty nice for smokers! Small downside, the work outside, right next to the accommodation. For 2 days it's fine, the faster it can get annoyed.
Two sun loungers are positioned beside a clear swimming pool, with yellow towels neatly folded on each. A small table sits between the loungers, offering a space for refreshments. Lush green leaves frame the scene, adding a touch of natural beauty.

I had a wonderful stay at Julie& Jo's place. They were very friendly, responsive and helpful. They go beyond the mile to help in everything. The breakfast was also a highlight for us. It was delicious and we could even request for local food and they will find it for us to try. It was such things that made the stay so pleasant. I really like their organic toiletries provided too. The room was huge, clean and homely. Amazing (: They provided bicycles for us to get around too. I would recommend this place to anyone coming to Luang Prabang. Great experience and stay! 😊😉

Private room with breakfast next swimming pool

Centrally located to a lot of restaurants and coffee shops(which is important to me). The pool is a cool refreshing spot to spend time to get out of the mid day heat. Breakfast is made to order with fresh eggs and baguettes...delicious. our host Ann has been extremely helpful with transportation and recommendations for restaurants. Can be a bit lively at night from nearby bars. Overall a good choice for a basic place to stay.

The Bamboo Tree Garden is a great place among the flowers, vegetables and herb gardens, where everything is grown organically. The vegetables and herbs are used in their restaurants in the city that are among the best of Luang Prabang. Linda and her family are great hosts who help you with everything. At the location where we are staying, Linda gives cooking workshops so the food is of course great. We also enjoyed a delicious breakfast with homemade freshly baked croissants and chocolate cakes. The rooms are clean, spacious and with shower & bath. It is located a little outside the city, but Linda arranges a taxi and even a guide to visit the city.

B&B Pukyo Phonsavan

PurobiRating, 5 stars4 months ago
David's wife Sakhone just dropped us off in Luang Prabang. We rode with her. There is no way words can do justice to describe how friendly, kind, pleasant this couple is. And their three adorable girls became our grand kids. Their place was perfect for our trip. Sakhone gave a great tour of the plain of jars. She cooked fabulous vegetarian meals for us. David is a very good cook as well. Great, ACTUAL, filtered coffee, not the instant poison. The airport is being redone. We had to take a 10 hour car ride from Vientiane, and another 10 hour car ride to Luang Prabang. Even after that, it is Pukyo Guesthouse that made everything very much worthy. We stayed 4 nights and we could have easily stayed longer. Thank you for everything Sakhone, and David. Hope to see you in October.
