I highly recommend, especially if you are looking for beautiful outdoor space and something close to the Volcanoes National Park!
A framed artwork depicting white flowers is displayed on a green background, accentuated by a wooden border. The image features elements of tropical foliage, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere of the interior space.

Illuminated Garden Studio

TreyRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Staying at the Illuminated Studio was a phenomenal experience. I spent a week there and I loved every minute. It is off the grid with no WiFi and a perfect place to relax and rejuvenate. The hosts do live on the property with their extremely well behaved, fun children as well as two other people, yet this still felt extremely private for me. The outdoor shower was awesome as was falling asleep listening to the nature sounds. This is in a more remote, local part of the island and the hosts will truly share their aloha with you and you will have an experience that is most memorable. Aloha.

Hamakua X - Heart

Ryan, Yasmine, Aries, Snoopy, and Meowy were excellent hosts! We felt right at home in their sanctuary and enjoyed returning here each night after a day of adventure and exploring to rest with the soft chirping of frogs. Our room was very cozy and the public spaces were quiet and relaxing. We also made use of the kitchen and enjoyed sharing meals with some of the other people staying there. We appreciated the sustainability efforts and quiet hours, which also helped with our tech detox. From bonfires to picking fresh fruit from trees to feeding ducks to stargazing with the jungle sounds as your orchestra, this haven was the perfect place to reconnect with nature and getting to know more about this special space they have created.

2 miles from Pololu - Keokea Dome Garden Retreat

StephenRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
This was a perfect getaway! Naomi’s retreat is in a quiet neighborhood with relaxed towns close by that have everything that you need. While we need to travel a bit to get to a sandy beach, we really didn’t mind and even looked forward to the drive as the scenery is beautiful. The retreat is very well supplied with plenty of towels, beach chairs, a cooler, plenty of books and kitchen appliance (the rice cooker was a savior)! Overall, we couldn’t imagine much of a better place or location. Would definitely (and hopefully!) stay again, thanks Naomi!

02 Aloha Room, Beautiful Home, Walk to Town, Views

AnthonyRating, 5 stars1 month ago
I had one of the best weeks of my life staying at Scott’s home. From check in to check out everything was so easy and smooth. He has keyless entry on both the front door and bedroom. This is so nice not having to worry about keys and you can check in whenever you want without extra coordination with the host. The house is laid out really well. Most of the bedrooms are upstairs with a big double vanity bathroom. The kitchen is spotless and he has everything you need to cook just about anything. The back yard is wonderful. I spent a lot of time out there looking at the beautiful territorial views of the mountains. The location is a ten. It’s on the dry side of Waimea and walking distance to town if you want to walk. There is a relaxing nature preserve within walking distance to his place. I also had a couple exchanges with his house cleaner which were very positive and she did a great job! I would for sure make this my go to spot for anytime I am staying in Waimea.

A glowing lava lake is visible within a rugged volcanic landscape, with bright orange and red hues illuminating the dark surroundings. The contours of the lava create a dynamic shape, surrounded by the textured earth and cliffs of the volcano, under a smoky and dramatic sky.

*New* Cozy Tiny Home near Volcano

Loved our tiny home experience. Andrew was very communicative and helpful. He gave great directions and local information. The house was immaculate when we arrived. The bed was comfy and the kitchen was extremely well stocked. We arrived late - the home is a little tricky to get into in the dark as there are no lights and some big potholes. A good add on would be darker/thicker curtains. Would highly recommend!

Honoka’a Ohana on the Main strip of town!

ErzaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Property was exactly as described. A much more local-esque experience than a resort room. If you want to experience Hawaii like a local this is it. Charming place very similar to my friend’s home just around the corner. The Public House and a couple local restaurants and stores are nearby. Super quiet and peaceful at night. Will definitely stay again when I am in the area. One thing to note is…if you are someone who likes to take midday naps and sleeps lightly when you nap, the police and fire station next door has their radios loud enough to hear even when the windows are closed. However, I did not hear any sirens and the radios were quiet well before bedtime. The host can’t help this and the upside is you’re definitely safe staying here.
