We had a great time at Loons Landing! Knotty Pine is well appointed - it had everything we could have needed. Like most resorts in the area, you have to bring your own towels. The cabin and resort grounds are clean and cared for. Small detail that I really appreciated - there are hooks for hanging clothes, towels, etc. everywhere. Thanks for a great stay!

Great location. Cute dated cabin but with updated appliances, bathroom, and technology. Golf course nearby with bar & grill and a nicer sit-down restaurant. Dock and watercraft were great, plenty of outdoor folding chairs.

We had to plan for a last minute get away to attend a funeral in Deer River MN and I found this cabin last minute. Emily was super proactive in communicating with me and I was able to get all my questions answered and was able to book quickly. We booked cabin #3 which was perfect for what I wanted for my family of 4. I have two young children 10 and 5 and they absolutely loved the beach, Maui pad, and jumping off the dock. We also had a few bonfires, and they loved hearing the loons and other wildlife. The cabin itself was awesome. Very clean, beautiful inside, beds were great, and the cabin had everything we needed plus a nice deck along with a grill which we used. Also in the cabin were puzzles, books, and my son LOVED the magna tiles to play with. I do have to say we may have lucked out because there were hardly any other guests when we were there, but we've already shared it with friends, and we may look to book all 3 cabins at some point in the future. Loved this place!

The Deer Lake Apt was very cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed taking our boat out on the lake. The host was very accommodating and friendly. So nice to find dog friendly places to stay. Our dogs were very happy and content there.

We had a great anniversary weekend with our pup at Brandon's cabin on Long Lake. The co-host Liz was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The cabin was clean, and had all the necessities for cooking/grilling. The little beach was perfect for our pup to play and for us to wade in, and they had a canoe available as well. The lake was very quite and peaceful. Lots of yard furniture and games to enjoy the natural, still, beauty of the Northwoods. We also spent a day driving to the Northshore and exploring the beautiful state parks! Even though there is no running water in the cabin, there is a water cooler inside for drinking water, they provide solar bags for showers, and there's a big tank of water out back for washing dishes. They also have the CLEANEST, least smelly, outhouse I've ever used. The cell reception wasn't the best - we have Verizon - so that's something to plan for if you need to stay in touch as there is no wifi. Liz said that AT&T is much better in the area.

Beautiful cabin! It was honestly bigger than we expected! Loved being able to enjoy the beautiful view from the deck!

Place was nice and quiet, a fun getaway with a great family game room. They have a nice dock with decent fishing: we caught a couple of large mouth bass and pike. Beautiful firepit and front porch to watch great sunsets. We enjoyed the sauna, cornhole and outdoor space. Unfortunately the deerfly were a bit annoying making it hard to be outside at times. Would recommend bringing a boat or kayak to get out on the lake. We would come back again.

This is our second time staying at these beautiful cabins and it did not disappoint. The local breweries and restaurants were delicious, having access to the canoes and kayaks were super fun and convenient to get out on the water, and the wood sauna and fireplace at night were a perfect way to relax at the end of a fun filled day.

If you’re looking for a quiet, cozy, relaxing, cabin getaway, this is your place! Saw and heard loons every day/night, which is always cool. Very easy to relax and enjoy the surrounding wildlife and scenery, highly recommend!

We could not have asked for a better place to vacation! The house was amazing! The beds were comfortable with beautiful quilts on some of the beds. The kitchen was fully stocked for whatever we wanted to make! Bathrooms were very nice. We spent most of our time outside around the fire, on the dock fishing or kayaking/ on the lake with the boat. We caught lots of fish and spent good quality time with family. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home and if we come back up for any fishing trips, we would definitely stay here again!

I had an amazing stay at this cozy cabin in Northern Minnesota! The location is perfect for a peaceful retreat, surrounded by nature and offering beautiful views. Whether you're looking to relax by the fire or explore the outdoors, this place has it all. Highly recommend for anyone looking to escape to the north woods!

The property is absolutely gorgeous! The lake is pristine and we spent a lot of time on the beautiful dock and in the surrounding woods. We loved using the sauna as the weather was a bit cooler during our stay. We thought the beds were comfortable and we had plenty of space for our family of six. We thought a few things could use some updating. We wished there had been a larger TV upstairs so that we could all comfortably watch movies or sports in the family room. Also, the basement shower did not have adequate water flow and so we all ended up using the upstairs shower. Ultimately, these weren’t dealbreakers for us because our primary purpose was to spend our time outdoors. If you are looking for a true north woods getaway, this will hit the mark.

Great place on the lake! There was plenty of space for our family and we particularly enjoyed sitting outside on the patio and floating in the lake during the day. We rented a pontoon one afternoon, which I highly recommend! We played pickleball a few times at the YMCA and brought up our bikes to enjoy the Mesabi bike trail. There is so much to do in the area! Bring bug spray if you plan to be outside at dusk. The house was clean and well-equipped and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We thought we’d use the sauna but honestly it looks more appealing in photos than in real life. We appreciated the bottle of wine and s’mores kit left by the host. Note, there is a small chore list to take care of when you leave. Can’t wait to visit Grand Rapids again!
