Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Hvalfjörður

The renovated water tower is a lovely and clean home. There are large sliding doors on each floor that open up to give access to the outdoors or cool off the home. The main bathroom with a shower is located on the ground floor and comes with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. There is also a hair dryer and many towels available. The bathroom on the second level was small and could be accessed through the main bedroom. The kitchen was bright and open. There was plenty of seating for the 4 of us, although the bench seat by the kitchen table could be thoroughly washed. Plenty of dishes and kitchen essentials. Washer and drying rack were a pleasant addition to the home and made traveling light easier. The rooms were cozy and the beds are comfortable. The stairs are steep but easy to navigate for our children (ages 7 and 9). The views from inside and from the deck are beautiful. The two birds nesting outside are quite friendly. Earlier guests named them Chuck and Larry.

We absolutely loved our stay! The house was perfect, sadly we only stayed 1 night. Scenery was amazing! Nice and close to good restaurants and the local attractions, geysir and Gullfoss, but out in the country so very peaceful and quiet. I would definitely recommend this to anyone and I would definitely stay there again!

House is very comfortable and cozy. Beds and beddings were amazing! Kitchen is well equipped, house has a big open space. :) Neighbors are unique: dog, cat, sheep and horses. It was a perfect stay!

Our stay at Skeid2 was simply perfect—surrounded by stunning scenery and packed with everything you could possibly need for a cozy escape. Fantastic experience! One tiny mishap: we lost the main door key (oops!). But the hosts? Absolute legends. They handled it with such grace, didn’t even charge us, and just smiled it off. Talk about hospitality! It felt less like a rental and more like a warm welcome from old friends. Highly recommended if you're chasing peace, views, and good vibes.

The location of the house makes the views from the living room, the kitchen and bedrooms really spectacular and unforgettable. You love sitting and sipping morning coffee there, however there is so much to do and see in Iceland that you also don't want to sit there for too long :)) There is a nice Icelandic swimming pool, a few cute restaurants, fabulous walking paths and two supermarkets within a walking distance from the house. It's worth to mention that the house has all the equipment you need. Well, unless you need a washing machine or a dishwasher.. It's an old style house but makes really a pleasant stay.

A beautiful, peaceful setting, with stunning views. Kathrin and her husband let us know when the northern lights appeared one evening and helped us with the settings on our i-phone so we could take the best pictures. Very appreciative or their help. We highly recommend their quiet cottage.

Wir hatten zu viert einen schönen Aufenthalt in Kristinns hübschem Haus. Super war der HotPot hinter dem Haus mit Blick in die schneebedeckten Bergey Die Kommunikation mit Kristinn verlief problemlos. Nur die Navigation mit den Koordinaten hat nicht so geklappt. Nach einem Telefonat war das Problem schnell gelöst.

An absolutely stunning lake side villa close to the famous Golden Circle. We used it as our base for a week to explore Iceland with friends. We were two families, with three children in total. The villa is simply stunning, so beautiful and the perfect home away from home. We all loved returning back in the evenings and enjoying the sauna and hot tub. Then the grown ups sat up late to take in the never ending sun outside, snuggled with blankets and fire pit for company. We lost track how many photos we all took of the lake. We also enjoyed our coffee in the morning over looking the lake and running the loop around the lake. Communication was excellent and Telma couldn't have been more responsive or helpful. We 100% recommend and will be back!

Sigrún was incredibly helpful and was gracious enough to allow us to check in early. She had clear instructions and the place is about 15 mins away from the heart of Reykjavik. The place is right by the water and was very clean and well stocked. We enjoyed multiple “sunsets” from the shores. Thanks again Sigrún, we appreciate you and your place and will always remember it for our time in Reykjavik!

Zeer fijn verblijf op een mooie centrale locatie bij Reykjavik, 10 minuten zit je in het centrum, en 10 minuten zit je ook op de ringweg. Vanaf luchthalen zeer goed bereikbaar en eenvoudig te vinden. Accomodatie is simpelweg perfect, zeer luxe, knus en super netjes. Keuken is van alle gemakken voorzien, badkamer is compleet, slapen is heerlijk en rustig, weinig tot eigenlijk geen geluid. Woongedeelte is echt heel leuk ingericht en de televisie (alhoewel weinig tot niet gebruikt), is ook perfect. Zeer, zeer tevreden ik zou iedereen aanbevelen om hier te verblijven. De host Sara is bereikbaar en behulpzaam. 5/5, de volgende keer zal ik zeker weer hier verblijven.

From the airport 10 minutes by car, the flat is ideal for the first accommodation in the evening, yet quiet. We had everything we needed there and it was just 300 metres on foot to a small, well-stocked supermarket

My husband and I had a great stay here. The place was very comfortable and we appreciated having a washer and a well equipped kitchen. Being close to grocery stores was great and the area is very walkable. We did rent a car to go exploring and was able to park right in front of the airbnb. My favourite was the view of the mountain from the window! Thanks for a great stay :)

The apartment was easy to find, very clean, and peaceful. Everything was exactly as described, and we were given lots of helpful information in terms of the location and local food options. We appreciated the kitchen, which had everything you need to cook for yourself. Super easy to park as well as get to and from anywhere in the city/on the highway to whatever day trips you might be doing. Definitely recommend staying here to anyone visiting the Reykjavik area!

The apartment, nestled in the basement of Sigurður’s house (with its own private entrance), was comfortable and spacious for our family of 4. There were nearby gas stations, supermarket, and restaurants. Drive to Reykjavik was easy and convenient. Availability of washer and dryer in the apartment was super convenient. The surroundings were scenic and beautiful. A cute fluffy cat was patrolling the premises and would periodically check in on us through the windows! :) We had a great time in Iceland!

Die Ferienwohnung entspricht voll und ganz der Beschreibung. Sie liegt in einer ruhigen Wohngegend am Stadtrand von Reykjavik. Alles was man braucht, ist fußläufig zu erreichen. Parken vor der Tür ist kein Problem.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Unterkunft ist einfach ein Traum, schick und modern eingerichtet, alles was man braucht ist da. Es war sauber und wir haben uns gleich wohl gefühlt. Die Aussicht ist natürlich ein Highlight, welches wir jeden Morgen beim Frühstücken genossen haben. Wir würden wieder kommen :)

Erna Maria’s place was the perfect place for a solo traveler passing through. They were super proactive, responsive, and caring. Would stay here again any time.

The Airbnb was easily accessible and well equipped with washing machine, dryer and fully equipped kitchen. There was also a designated parking spot for your vehicle. Magnus was responsive and extremely helpful in answering any queries. Would recommend this place

Our stay at Audur’s place was great. Amenities were as described and the place was extremely clean and private. It was plenty of space for four.

Beautiful apartment at a new development, easily reachable by car. We found everything we needed here as a couple visiting Iceland for the first time. The place is very clean and modern, and is a cosy and comfortable base while exploring the stunning country.

WOW! what an amazing place to stay!!!! I have endless things to say about our experience here. the views and surroundings were immaculate. so peaceful and such a wonderful way to wake up in the mornings. everything was so clean and the rooms / beds were so comfortable. the bonus was the little spa area, the facilities were so clean and amazing. plenty of room to change, bathroom, showers, sauna. and the outdoor waterfall hot tubs were perfect temperature while it was cold outside. I would 100% stay here again!
