Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Hvalfjörður

Tara’s home was a great find. It’s close to the city center (15ish minute drive) in a quiet residential area. Kitchen is fully equipped to cook full meals, grill outside, grocery store 2 minutes away. Book, games and toys for the kids including soccer and basketballs. Everything we could need was available. She was quick to respond to questions and was kind enough to let us check in early after our red eye flight. Highly recommend.

Beyond our expectations! The house was perfect , clean, peaceful and felt like home. The host is so friendly and helpful and helped us feel settled right away. The Views were unbelievable! The Location was so nice for us as we were only in Iceland for 5 days but we got to visit so many places from Selfoss. I would go back in a heartbeat ! Thanks for this beautiful Airbnb for making the trip extra special for my family! More than 5 stars !

Stayed here with my family of four. Place is perfect. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen is fully equipped. Felt safe and beautiful location. Were able to see the northern lights in a clear evening.

I cannot say enough good things about this house. Not only was the home beautiful clean and very warm, but Vera was such a wonderful and communicative host. We traveled with our two-year-old son and she had a crib highchair and literally everything you could think of set up for a toddler so if you have kids, this is absolutely the place to go. There's even a little treehouse with a slide in the back and at night we could sit in the wonderful hot tub and see the northern lights. I would happily stay here again!!

This place is great! Very cozy and close to the golden circle and Selfoss, which has great restaurants! We especially enjoyed the cozy vibe of the interior furniture and kitchen. We also really enjoyed the hot tub and cold plunge combo. Magnús was really responsive when we had questions, and even got on the phone to walk us through how to fill the hot tub and turn off the lights so we could better view the aurora!

We stayed wishing to catch the Northern Lights and we were lucky enough to do so each night and be there for a huge solar storm. We ventured out the first night and after that realized we were able to stay comfy at our airbnb and see them both in the front yard and backyard. The house was spacious and our children 7 & 1 loved the books and toys available. We were offered a portable crib and high chair which were convenient. There were plenty of novels for adults and a variety of books on Iceland. There is a washer and large drying rack, dishwasher, and full kitchen which was wonderful since it is a serene spot you can relax and not run down the road 15 minutes for food or coffee. I enjoyed walking the road to the church and admiring the horses next door. The location is remote and going to parks or the city required an hour drive. Our host was gracious and extended our check out which was helpful. Thank you for your hospitality.

Jon's place in Flúðir was a delightful surprise! The space was incredibly comfortable and spacious, perfect for exploring the stunning Icelandic countryside. The bathroom was a particular highlight, feeling more like a luxurious 5-star hotel than a vacation rental. The place was fully equipped with everything I needed, making our stay truly hassle-free. Jon was also very responsive and helpful, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience.

I recommend Björg's flat in Reykjavik. It has everything you need for cooking; at least three supermarkets are really close by. Everything in Reykjavik is reachable in under an hour by foot. This is a perfect origin for your explorations and also a perfect destination for relaxing after a longer trip. I would definitely choose the accommodation again.

We loved our stay at Midtown Pleasure! The apartment was absolutely perfect for our family of four and very comfortable. The location was excellent and we felt like we were right in the middle of everything while still be on a quiet street so that we could have our windows open at night. We walked everywhere and it was very conveniently located near a grocery store, coffee shops, and everything else we might need. We found this option to be very affordable compared to some of the hotels in town and we were very glad with our decision. The apartment had everything we needed. I would highly recommend!

I don't know where to start. We were tired from an overnight flight and when we got to the apartment we felt so relaxed. Disa is a wonderful hostess and it was such a pleasure to have several conversations with her. She is so energetic and friendly. Skagafell was so comfortable to be in. Phenomenal bed, plenty of hot water and very nice temperature inside. Several times we saw horses go through and saw several herds as we approached our place. You can't go wrong renting this unique place.

Great place in beautiful area. Location is definitely big advantage and I definitely recommend it to everyone. Communication was perfect and our host was very responsive and easy going.

We had an amazing time at Geir’s family home! This was an incredible place to spend the new year and we would absolutely return! The location is perfect. We were able to walk outside the city lights a short distance to get an amazing view of the northern lights. A designated lookout is also a short car ride away. Plus, downtown Reykjavík is a short car or bus ride away! It could also be a good walk for those who like to hike.

Vilborg’s apartment in Reykjavik was perfect for our stay. Check-in was super smooth with clear and easy instructions. The apartment itself is beautiful—full of lovely plants and cute, stylish decor. It felt spacious and comfortable for our family of four, and everything was very clean and quiet. A great place to relax after exploring the city. Highly recommend!

Although we had to end our trip early, our time at Jon’s cabin was very enjoyable. Check in instructions were easy to follow and the location is convenient to Golden Circle attractions. The cabin itself is so cozy with the most comfortable beds and couch. We traveled with our 19 month old and found it to be an easy place for him to move about and for us to keep an eye on him (just be careful with stairs to the loft). We appreciated the baby amenities provided and the baby loved pointing out the cabin’s fun decor. The sauna and hot tub were the perfect way to end the day and easy to use with unmatched views. Overall, a lovely cabin and very responsive host.

Wir hatten eine so schöne Zeit in Haukurs Unterkunft. Die Hütte ist mit allem ausgestattet was man so braucht, sehr gemütlich und traumhaft ruhig gelegen mitten in der Natur. Der Blick auf den See, der Kamin und der Hot Tub waren unser Highlight. Perfekt um so richtig zu entspannen. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

An excellent place to stay for exploring the golden circle area as well as the south coast. Very private and great amenities for children. The hot tub was relaxing in the evenings after long days of hiking.

This place is worth every single penny you would spend. The host is very kind and active with the responses. The accommodation is immaculate. I hope this place is available for the next time I visit so that I can stay longer. Thank you for the best Iceland experience.

Lovely cosy cabin in peaceful surroundings - we loved hearing the snipes calling while we were sitting on the terrace of in the hot tub. Perfect location for lots of day trips to the main golden circle sites.

We had a wonderful stay at this secluded cabin in Skorradalshreppur. The location is incredibly peaceful and private—perfect for a relaxing getaway. One of the highlights was the sauna, which was clean, spacious, and had a great view. We also loved having direct access to the lake, which made for some memorable mornings and evenings. Communication with the owner was smooth and responsive throughout the entire stay. Highly recommend if you're looking for a quiet retreat in nature with great amenities!

Sígrun’s place was exactly what we were looking for! We had the best welcome ever being greeted by the northern lights. The house is well equipped with everything you need. From kitchen appliances to toiletries. And the hot tub outside, is an excellent place to relax. Location is perfect. Very nice and quiet and also close to all the main attractions of the golden circle. Our farewell was also memorable with northern lights dancing for us! Some places we’d like to recommend: Sky Lagoon, Thingvellir National park (20 min drive from the house, bring good shoes, can be very slippery). Tryggvaskali restaurant, Messinn restaurant, Silfra restaurant. And of course all the other attractions around the golden circle. Thank you, Sigrún, hope to be back soon!

Host gentilissimo che ci ha accolto personalmente e molto disponibile a fornire informazioni sulla zona. Al centro del “Golden Circle”. Un ottimo ristorante nelle vicinanze (Hvönn) e numerosi maneggi. 2 ore da Landmannalaugar (imperdibile). Fidatevi, non esitate a prenotare. Senza dubbio il miglior alloggio in 3 settimane in Islanda!
