Vacation rentals with a hot tub in Hurunui District

A couple of things, Pet/Park fee: If you’re bringing a pet, you’ll pay an extra fee on top of the Airbnb rate. TinyAway listed it, but it wasn’t obvious. My partner and I missed it when we reviewed the listing and only realized it after booking. We share some responsibility, but it could’ve been clearer. The drive up: 4WD is essential for steep areas unsuitable for city cars. Driving up and down the mountain was terrifying but memorable. Pictures of retrieving the key would’ve been helpful. Summer: We visited in the summer, and it was extremely hot. We couldn’t spend time outside because of the flies. This isn’t a complaint about our hosts, but a heads up for anyone coming in the summer. Hosts: TinyAway as the main host were very responsive, sub host Tim was not, so that could be improved. View: The view is absolutely gorgeous. Loved it. Home: I thought the home was clean, my partner thought the fridge wasn’t. Eco-toilet took a little getting used to. Bring your own food/snacks.

Great spot in Hanmer Springs. Spacious, walkable to 'downtown' Hanmer, and clean. Our group of six was very comfortable there.

I truly enjoyed staying at Rose and Geoff's home. Their gardens and outdoor living space are absolutely beautiful. The spa was available and worked. The room was it's own little nest in a private corner of the house. Amberley itself is a nice little transition point from Christchurch on the way north. I decided to stop here on the way to Hanmer Springs (that van was already full) via bus with no plan as to how to explore this area. I ended up going to the "it place" in Amberley, Brew Moon, and hitching a ride with other locals to a music show after enjoying wood fired pizza and beer. I learned Uber does exist in Amberley, it doesn't really exist in the nearby towns. Amberley itself is walkable for the most part, though Rose and Geoff also graciously helped me with getting around. Pegasus winery was nearby and was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. I highly recommend stopping here and smelling the roses for awhile :)

Amazing place with incredible scenery in both poor and good conditions. Great for an exciting adventure with all of the usual comforts once indoors, really enjoyable to live in a simple and minimal way up in the mountains.

We had a wonderful stay! The place was not only incredibly stylish but also thoughtfully and beautifully put together down to the smallest detail. Great interior and we really much enjoyed the outside hot tub. Everything matched perfectly, and we felt right at home from the very first moment. Absolutely nothing was missing – everything we needed (and more) was there. You can really tell how much care and love has gone into this place. Hayden is a fantastic host – very responsive to messages and proactive in communication, which made everything smooth and easy for us. Thank you for this lovely experience – we would come back any time!!

The accomodation was located in beautiful surroundings. The woodfire hot tub was wonderful at night and there was plenty of wood provided. the kids enjoyed the tennis courts and play ground and the walk track was well marked and well maintained.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful countryside house. Traveling with our five-month-old baby, we were looking for a peaceful, quiet place away from any noise — and this was absolutely perfect. The house and rooms were extremely clean, making us feel just like we were at home. Colleen and Gile were exceptional — welcoming us warmly with flexible check-in arrangements, and showing great understanding of our need for privacy with a little one. We truly appreciated the calm environment and the comfort offered. Our morning conversation over breakfast was delightful and made our stay even more memorable. The location is ideal too — just about an hour’s scenic drive from Hanmer Springs. If you’re looking to enjoy the activities at Hanmer and then retreat to a peaceful, restful night surrounded by nature, this is the perfect spot. From here, you can easily head back to Christchurch or return for another day at Hanmer. Highly recommend this beautiful place and its amazing hosts!

Great place to stay. We were four sisters and each had a bedroom with a comfy bed. Driveway was too tricky as it was wet and icy so we parked on the road.
