Staying with us is a journey back in time, only 12 min north of Mariposa and 1 hr from the Yosemite Valley west entrance. Experience small-town hospitality in a community that keeps it's history alive. We include full organic non-gluten breakfast.

The space
The historic part of our house was built in 1894 and it is part of California Historical Landmark 331. The upstairs Sky View Suite has a bedroom, a sitting room and a private bathroom. The bedroom has a double bed, the sitting room has a futon double bed and can be used as a second bedroom, and the bathroom has an antique claw foot tub/shower combination. If you rent both our Sky View and Garden View rooms together, you can also use the fold-out bed in the living room for an additional person (7 persons total).

We have a quiet and efficient state-of-the-art electronic heat pump system in all our guest rooms. This provides heat in the winter and cooling in summer. We also provide warmth in winter using our wood burning stove in the living room. The house has solar panels that generate most of our electricity.

We offer free wifi in all rooms and wired internet in the living room. The internet is a very fast 10 MBPS symmetric.

The B&B has a new addition which was built in the 1990s where your hosts live.

We are most proud of our natural farm and orchard. We have seasonal vegetables, blueberries goji berries, apples, figs, and recently planted cherries and mulberries. We grow all our food without chemical sprays or fertilizer. Our guests are welcome to pick and eat whatever is ready for harvest when they are here. The nearby Hunter's Valley access road offers trails for exploring by foot, bike or horse.

In Mariposa just 12 minutes south by car and there are a variety of stores and restaurants, including a health food store and deli. Just west of Mariposa there is a rock shop where you can find some local minerals and even ask about local rock and mineral hunting.

Because the pace in Mariposa is slower than large cities, you will often find that shop owners and people you meet on the street are willing to take the time to have a conversation with you. This is one of my favorite things about this area.

Guest access
You can hang out in our farm, or even pick some veggies for your meals. You will also have access to blazing fast wired internet (10 MBPS). Wireless internet available upon request.

Neighborhood highlights

Our neighborhood is unique. We have no "official" business. However, walking around you may meet the local residents and learn first hand about the area. People often have more time to simply hangout around here.

During your stay

We treat our guests as family. You are welcome to hang out with us as much as you like as we go about gardening and running our BnB. Nancy prefers to be working outside, she is also found in the kitchen processing our various harvests, such as curing olives, pickling cucumbers, or just preparing meals. Bill is often working on-line, and he is happy answer guests questions or even play some music on his guitar or djembe. Since we have two separate houses that are joined together by a breezeway, guests can have as much privacy/interaction as they want.
