Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Hérouville-Saint-Clair

We had a lovely week at the gite, the location is great, in the middle of the countryside but also close to towns & the ferry port. Sophie was a good host & stayed up to greet us despite the late hour of arrival. Definitely recommend this place!

This is THE MOST amazing location. Pictures do not do this place justice. It felt like we were staying in a Jane Austen novel. Christian and his wife were the sweetest, most patient and helpful hosts. The place was SPOTLESS, the atmosphere was completely idyllic. It was better than expected, we couldn't believe it when we arrived. This was the true, original kind of Airbnb experience. Personal, comfortable, local. Do not hesitate to book. We wanted to just stay and rest and hang out here for a week. Christian went above and beyond to help us when we had some issues with our car. They stopped by to say goodbye and see us off. It will be our favorite memory from our trip .

3rd time in this place and in any weather and any time of the year, the charm always works. We simply feel good there as it is peaceful. The cottage is super well equipped and the children love the games, the garden, Fernand the donkey etc... In short, we just hope to come back a 4th time :-)

We had an exceptional stay in this home that exudes authenticity and human warmth. As soon as we arrived, we felt that she had a soul, and we quickly understood why: shaped by our host and her father, it is much more than a construction. Here, wood and stone are not just materials, they carry the trace of those who worked them with love. The hospitality was very generous. Always available despite his busy days, our host responded kindly to all our questions – and we had a lot of them! Beyond the comfort and charm of the place, it is a real immersion in a way of life more respectful of nature that has marked us. Here, ecology is not a simple word, but a sincere and coherent commitment, a lesson we take with us. We leave enriched with this experience, with deep gratitude for the trust and human warmth offered to us.

Very nice surprise! Despite the late booking, Sophie was very responsive and available, upon our arrival, we even found the fireplace lit and small touches. The house is warm and welcoming, rich in history and very well positioned, in a quiet and peaceful village, near the sea, places to visit and with parking on the street where we almost always found space (April). Very comfortable bedding, well-equipped kitchen, an address to remember!

Fantastic location seconds from the beach on a very quiet lane. Very secure yard if you bring dogs! Everything you need in the apartment - it is very well fitted out. Clément is a caring and responsive host. I recommend!

Great stay, We enter an old building; exposed stones, narrow corridor overlooking a staircase towards the second floor before arriving in a place similar to the common room of the most famous sorcerers!!! A peaceful sleeping area with Griffondor uniforms (several sizes available😃) A living space with all the decoration that goes with it. We believe it: furniture, fireplaces, accessories, bedding, curtains, lighting, games etc... I won't say everything either. Not to mention the small extra box available. Beware of the small bakery opposite that offers magical chocolate pain😅 (The giant, I told my son that he had grown on the way ) Thank you for a good time!

We stayed at the apartment for two nights. The apartment is central. Easy to travel on foot to the tobacco shop, bakery, and various other shops, as they were all within the town centre (about a minute from the apartment). The apartment was also within walking distance to the beach, harbour and restaurants. The apartment was BEAUTIFUL. So spacious and beautifully decorated. Alizée provided every thing you could possibly need and explained how to work all appliances and shutters thoroughly. We would certainly stay at the apartment again. I haven’t got a bad word to say about the flat.

Axel’s place was in a great location for people looking to be within walking distance of great restaurants and nice shops and bakeries. It had a good amount of space for a family. He was a great host. Very helpful and responsive. Although there is no designated parking, we were able to find street parking within a reasonable walking distance.

We had a lovely family weekend in a very nice apartment, great location, with a nice view. The listing and its description perfectly matched the place. The beach and shops are a stone's throw away. Great for children! And the hosting was perfect! A big thank you to the whole family.

We stayed for a weekend with friends (12 people) at Villa Boubou where Philippe welcomed us warmly and we had a great time. Passionate about American vehicles, we were able to discuss the subject, a good time of sharing. The guardian cat of the😉😄 premises is adorable and did not fail to welcome us and spend time with us. Top Amenities. Villa Boubou is a good alternative and well located for visiting museums and landing beaches. A little extra, a bakery located 50 meters away and a supermarket with its drive and gas 500 meters away. We highly recommend Villa Boubou and its hosts Karine & Plilippe. Laurence and Christophe

The house offered by Jules was incredible with a magnificent view a few kilometers from the beach… everything was perfect until the story of the place and surroundings that his dad tells so well.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with great kindness. The space was spotless, comfortable, and as described. Every little detail reflected the care and attention of our host, making our experience even more enjoyable. We leave with beautiful memories and only one desire: to come back! We had a great time staying here in Merville. We had a group of 12 and it worked great. We really appreciated the beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms, clean linens and towels, the beautiful grounds and outdoor sitting areas, and a washer and dryer. Having access to many bikes was also really nice as we went for some evening bike rides and explored the area. The location is nice, too. From the house, we took day trips to the D-Day beaches, Caen, and Mont Saint-Michel. A 10 minute walk into town to visit the bakery, restaurants, or even to go for a swim is also really convenient. The neighborhood was very quiet, so it felt like we had the whole area to ourselves. Thanks, too, for the recommendation to visit the Dupont Orchard to try some calvados! The cottage was everything advertised and more. Beds were very comfortable; literature was provided for local attractions, groceries restaurants; emergency contacts, etc. Loved the horses on their breeding farm, and the serene rural setting - just the perfect distance from everything we came to see. Our gracious host, Venessa, was bilingual and spoke English, which made communicating with her much easier. The kitchen as well as the entire cottage was beautifully furnished with everything we needed. She had even provided games, and other children items -which we didn’t need - but we appreciated seeing the details given to the needs of visiting families. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to enjoy the pool or hot tub, but would have enjoyed spending time at both amenities, given more time for our trip. I would highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone desiring to travel to the Normandy area of France.

We had a wonderful week in this property just outside of the town of Deauville. The house is located in a quiet suburban area with a Carrefour just a couple of minutes walk down the street which was very convenient. The large walled garden was great for the kids and the table tennis table, sun loungers, outdoor eating area, and table football all proved popular! The house itself is absolutely stunning - a beautiful traditional style timber framed building. The interior has a lot of exposed wood beams and very high quality furnishings. Everything that we needed was provided and we were very comfortable during our stay. The local town of Deauville has plenty going on including shops, bars, and restaurants. It's a pretty place with a harbour and some canals - lovely to be by the water. Between the house and Deauville is a wide sandy beach with stunning views along the coastline from Villers sur Mer to La Havre. Well worth a visit!

This was a wonderful house, beautifully situated in a peaceful rural area. Ideal for us to explore the DDay Landings very easily indeed and to soak up Normandy culture and history, like the Bayeux Tapestry.. We found many excellent eateries within easy distance by car, and very good supermarket nearby. Facilities were excellent, and the house tastefully and comfortably furnished with a modern decor. Bathrooms were spotlessly clean and showers were excellent. The kitchen amenities were very good, all you could possibly need. We were delighted with the spacious and well kept garden, and very much enjoyed spending time in the conservatory, with its beautiful views of the sea and countryside, seeing deer, hares, foxes and a plethora of wild birds. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would highly recommend it to likeminded travellers, especially if you want easy access to the WWII Landing beaches, museums and the new memorial which is just minutes away.Salome was very responsive and helpful
