Leaving a review after your host canceled

We know it can be frustrating if a host needs to cancel a confirmed reservation, and you may want to share your experience in a review for the benefit of potential future guests. We’ve put a few things in place to make sure this works out as fairly as possible for everyone.

If a host cancels before check-in

If your host cancels a reservation before the day of check-in, you won’t have the option to leave a review. Learn more about when you can leave a review

If a host cancels on or after the day of check-in

You can leave a review for reservations that are canceled on the day of check-in (12:00 AM in the host's timezone) or later if canceled by the host.

If you choose to leave a review, be sure to follow our Reviews Policy and only rate and comment on relevant experiences which you can personally speak to. For example, you may have valuable feedback about poor communication, an issue at check-in, or difficulty getting to a place.

However, if you didn’t complete check-in, you may not have relevant feedback about the location, amenities, or value. Find more info about how to leave a helpful review.
