Beachfront vacation rentals in Hatteras Island

We loved Hygge By The Sea! It was a lovely one story home (one flight of stairs to access the house as is usual for the OBX) that fit our family perfectly. The house was spotless and so comfortable. We loved the laid back vibe and everyone felt right at home. Its location ocean front can't be beat.

Great private location very close to the beach, and perfect for kids to play outside and ride bikes around safely! The pool was definitely not in walking distance, but worth a quick drive as it wasn’t ever too busy and a very nice place. Kids loved the outdoor shower and adults loved the porch seating. Host very responsive and friendly!

The cottage was clean, cute, and comfortable with convenient access to the beach and amazing views from the top deck. Paul and Mark were helpful and responsive and stocked the house with everything needed for a great stay. The beach was mostly empty every morning and evening and never too crowded. We highly recommend Nautical Adventures and hope to stay here again!

My family has vacationed on the Outer Banks several times, and this was the third year our extended family has joined us. Kalid’s place stood out as the best place we’ve ever stayed. Aside from its proximity to the beach (you can hear and see the ocean from the top deck of the house), our favorite part of the house was the pool. It’s big, clean, and private with a hot tub in addition to the pool. The adults enjoyed sitting under the shaded area while the kids played in the pool. The location of the house is perfect — we prefer Hatteras Island over places farther north because it feels more wild and remote. From Kalid’s place, it was a two minute walk to the beach and a short drive to a few restaurants and the Salvo Day Use area (if you’re interested in easy access to the sound). Overall, Kalid’s place was clean, spacious, and well-appointed. We would highly recommend staying here, and we hope to come again in the future!

I can't say enough positive things about Anthony or Diamond Shells. Beautiful beach front home. Do understand that, while the walk to the beach is very short, it is quite sloped - this is the case for every single beachfront home due to the topography. The house was absolutely perfect, and so was Anthony. Very responsive host and answered all questions very promptly and graciously.

Dare Dream was just as pictured on the photos. The kitchen was amazing and incredibly well stocked, and the beds were comfortable. The proximity to the beach was perfect for us and just what we were looking for.

Our family of 4+ our dog had a great time. The place is cozy and comfortable in a great quiet little beach neighborhood. About a block from the pool, which was clean and quiet and a block from the beach which we had all to ourselves at times. Will definitely return next year.

Beautiful ocean views from the living area and upper deck! This is a true oceanfront home with a path leading right to the beach. Avon Pier is visible from the deck. Really comfy living room seating! Finding the house in the dark was a little tricky: it’s down the road and then a left turn to the end of the road.

My youngest daughter, granddaughter and I were the only ones who were able to take the trip. We all love the ocean so much. We couldn't believe we were just steps from the beach and the pool. Our oceanfront view was amazing! The cozy balcony had four very comfortable wooden tall chairs. The beach was great, not packed like sardines. It was clean, quiet and spacious. Our condo was on the first floor which left us a short flight of stairs to get to the condo. I have bad knees so it was wonderful being on the lower floor. The kitchen had just about everything one would need to prepare meals. We made our own coffee every day and cooked our meals in. It is so wonderful to have a kitchen. All the linens were clean, packed efficiently and plentiful. The starter soaps and supplies were great. We will definitely be returning to this facility again.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Brian is an excellent host. The home was very clean and neat. The kitchen is the most well stocked kitchen I've had the pleasure of using at an Airbnb. The location is great. The beach is very nice and was not very busy. We hope to come back soon!

We stayed here for our last night in the Outer Banks, and the location truly couldn’t have been more perfect. This classic beach house sits right on the sand in Buxton, with a balcony perched above the waves—it’s hard to beat that view and proximity to the ocean. The house has lots of character with its cedar shakes and old-school charm. While it could use a few updates, especially considering the price, it had everything we needed to relax and soak in the beauty of the beach one last time. A peaceful and memorable spot to end our trip.

We loved the condo! Scott and Constanza were quick to respond to our questions, and made us feel right at home. The condo is beautiful, and has the best-equipped kitchen I've seen in a rental. The back balcony has great views of the ocean and the sound. We would love to stay there again!

Highly recommend Tamis place for your outer banks getaway! It was the perfect place for us to celebrate a special birthday with our whole family. We loved lounging around the pool by day and the fire pit at night. It's a great halfway point between Nags head and Cape Hatteras. Also loved having the liberty market right by the house that seemed to have any amenities I needed in a pinch. (I forgot to pack a bathing suit) We would definitely like to come back for another visit!

Great place to stay! Great views and owners were very responsive to any concerns we had. The beach is right next to the backyard (the dunes are a bit steep to get up) but overall the stay was great!

We felt right at home in Tim’s cottage! AC worked great, beds were super comfortable and it was located in a great area! We would definitely stay again here!

Truly, one of the nicest rentals I have stayed in in the Outer Banks. Equipped with everything that you need. The layout is perfect. The underneath lounge area was so relaxing. The host is fantastic at communicating! I highly recommend this rental!

Julia’s place was phenomenal. The hot tub was amongst the best we’ve seen when staying at Airbnb. We’ll be staying here again in the near future!

The house was in perfect location and the sunrise from the patio was brilliant. The rooms were good size and we had everything we needed for a fabulous girls trip. Would surely like to return again.

A great home to stay in on the ocean front. Have been renting for many years in OBX this was a great value and location. We had some trouble with door code , I was able to get new working code within 15 minutes at 230am. That is customer service at its best!

We had a wonderful stay at Aloha Too. The location was perfect and it was so nice to see the beach from the house! It was toddler friendly and had everything we needed for a great little getaway. Next time we come to OBX we hope to stay here again.
