the only reason I gave a 3star for cleanliness is bc of bugs but I want travelers to know these are only country bugs...crickets in the basement...stink bugs everywhere...tis the season, etc. We were fine with it but might be concerning for some. Despite, we LOVED our stay!! The photos do not do justice...hard to capture magic in photos ;) The nearby town of Chestertown is historical and darling and nice if you want to shop, go to a restaurant or sightsee. We cooked all of our meals in the well stocked kitchen with fresh produce, eggs and cheese from local farms and fresh herbs from the yard!We kayaked/canoed, built fires, played games, fished and hiked around property. Truly a lovely time at a special place.

Grande View 1 was easy to find in a wooded lake community. It is very quiet and peaceful. The apartment was very clean and the finishes beautiful! This is a great place to relax and to use as base camp while exploring the area!

Katie is one of the best hosts I’ve had the pleasure of communicating with! She is friendly and personable, and very responsive. Her home is beautiful and matches the pictures, and was equipped for all that my family needed. The home itself has beautiful windows, so in the warmer months it’s a bit warmer inside. But after a cool rain, open the windows for a nice cross breeze! My family enjoyed our visit, including my 8 year-old nephew who listed all the reasons “this house is awesome!” We played pool during our visit, which is a full billiards table. There are darts , poker, a PS4, and lots of board games to play. One of the biggest highlights is that there are wooden blocks and plastic blocks for the kids to play with. It was wonderful seeing my niece and nephew put their electronic devices down and play with blocks! I HIGHLY recommend Katie’s beautiful home and look forward to seeing more guests enjoy this awesome space and her kind spirit!
