Gulkana River Ranch Bed and Breakfast

Our place is right on The Gulkana River. You’ll love our sauna, skiing, and 77-acre homestead. We are off the grid (no electricity), but have a sink, wood stove (we start for you), clean outhouse (no indoor toilet) and plenty of water that we haul for you. Outdoor shower is very rustic. Gulkana River Ranch is a haven for those wishing to be close to nature and experience bush Alaska as it used to be. Mod cons quite limited: Instagram-worthy photos plentiful:) Adventure awaits the hearty soul!

We are just across the Copper River from the Wrangell/St. Elias National Park. The Copper River is within walking distance. Both the Gulkana and the Klutina Rivers are about 15 miles away. Unique off grid tiny home. Dog friendly with a fenced in dog run attached to the house. The loft queen bed is built for those with youth left in them! 2 burner propane cook stove. 110 & 12v outlets. Excellent cabin to rest, recover, and base your Alaskan adventures out of! The cabin is small (16′ x 12′) with space for three guests (full and twin bed.) A small kitchenette allows for light food prep (no oven or stove but does have microwave and mini fridge). Coffee and tea is provided. Enjoy a hot shower at the end of your day, and sleep soundly with the help of blackout curtains.

We enjoyed our stay at Ellyn & Casey’s place. The house was exactly as pictured and had the essentials we needed for our visit to the area. This was the perfect place to stay for our visit to Wrangell-St. Elias National Park as it fell somewhere in the middle between the northern and southern regions of the park. It is located in a very quiet area, but is a bit removed from town if that is something that is important for you (it didn’t bother us at all). Ellyn & Casey were communicative hosts who provided clear check-in/check-out instructions and detailed information for locating the property/cabin. Overall we enjoyed our stay!

Great cabin especially if you are traveling with kids, they loved bunk beds so much it was their favorite place from the whole trip. Great little cafe on the property and a really wonderful place for a day trip to McCarthy or on the way to/from Valdez

The Bear Cabin I was staying in was very warm and cozy. The beds are extremely comfortable, especially for a guy that have travelled the whole day and just needed some rest. The bathroom is public, however it is basically shining. Overall my stay in Golden Spruce was totally worth it.
