Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Grant County

From the moment we walked into the house, we were in love. The house is set in a private, wooded cul-de-sac and easy to find with the directions provided. The inside is open and spacious but still somehow cozy. The kitchen had everything we needed and all of the best quality. The town of Davis is a short drive away with some delicious little places to check out for meals. We also stopped by Blackwater Falls State Park, just a few minutes past the downtown area. Would definitely recommend this gem if you are planning a stay in the area!

Beautiful location with graat and easy access to the amazing towns of Thomas and Davis as well as the beautiful Canaan Valley and surrounding region. Zygmund was a wonderful host who took my numerous mistakes in stride working with me to resolve them. Communication was an absolute breeze. I highly recommend this location and host!

We had a great stay! The house is a perfect location in Davis and was easy to locate. The kitchen had plenty of dish ware/ cooking ware which made cooking at home simple. Alison was always quick to communicate which was so helpful.

Before arriving Josh gave clear instructions on entering and when we got there the house was just perfect. Nice bathroom on the first floor and the living room is nice that goes opens up to the nice deck. The beds are very comfortable and clean. This place is very close to Canaan valley resort and black water falls park. We were there for a wedding in the area. But we could have been able to do so much because it’s all very close. Thank you Josh for making this a very nice experience.

This is a real gem. What a wonderful trip for us with Black Diamond house. Brian and co hosts were very responsible and thoughtful fantastic hosts. House is super clean, modern, newly renovated, great view and beautiful surroundings, quiet peaceful safe full of decorations and amenities including warm jacuzzi with peaceful heavenly neighbors. Dream came true in New Virginia. Lots of things to do in the nature also. I would definitely come back to Brian’s place.

Friends and family members rented several cabins at Black Bear for a wonderful weekend! Joan’s description warns that AWD is needed at this time of year—and it is. 🤪. Maintenance at Black Bear was extremely responsive when one of our group had difficulty getting out of the resort due to snow/ice. Nice to have the covered back porch to take off snowy wet clothes/boots.

Kimberly really has tried to think of everything for this little cottage. The kitchen is well stocked (loved the little magnetic spice containers on the fridge). She’s set up a small but functional coffee bar. Small French press included! Firewood was provided and was a most welcome treat to have a wood burning fire in the chilly evenings The little resort that the cabin is in is well maintained and staff is friendly and helpful. Beds are comfortable and there’s plenty of hot water! The spa tub was such a bonus after a long day of traveling and hiking! We enjoyed the local restaurants but particularly enjoyed the Purple Fiddle and Wicked Wilderness Pub. Kimberly and Jay have clearly worked hard to make this cabin a lovely guest house.

My wife and I needed a trip away from the city for the long holiday weekend where we could enjoy some good activity in peaceful surroundings with our dog. This cozy pedestal cabin in Black Bear Resort was just what we were looking for. Check in was easy by picking up the keys at the resort lodge. The place had everything we needed to a cook a couple nights for ourselves, including the gas grill on the deck. The wall-mounted 4K flatscreen TV with Roku let us relax after three active days out and about in Canaan Valley while we listened to the thunderstorms roll over the mountains each evening. This would certainly be a fine place for folks (especially with kids -- there were two sets of bunk beds in the loft) to use a base for their WV adventures any time of year!

Great place super close to Timberline, Canaan Valley and Whitegrass. Home is clean and comfortable, with a well appointed kitchen and lots of games and entertainment for bad weather.

Staying at Megan and Abby’s cabin was such an amazing experience. The place was impeccably clean and looked exactly as the pictures described it. Megan responded quickly and kindly when I asked about a door that needed to be unlocked. The Bear Lair Cabin stay will live my best memories.

The Verde Mountain Cabin is a cozy, comfortable home that is close to Thomas, Davis, and all of the great outdoor activities in the Canaan Valley. It was a great place to stay to explore the trails and towns in the area, and the resort area that surrounds the cabin is quiet and peaceful with nice views. Brooke and the Platinum Pineapple Group are also very responsive and helpful.

When our plans shifted a little bit, Cameron was so helpful as we figured out how to adapt our plans. We appreciated it so much. The cabin is delightful and the view is stunning. We loved the coziness, the jacuzzi, and the beautiful deck overlooking the mountains and the wetlands that make Canaan so unique. Absolutely wonderful stay.

Great stay for my family and close to Black Water Falls and Favis, WV.

We couldn’t have picked a better location to spend our 1 year wedding anniversary. We spent a beautiful Saturday at Blackwater Falls and exploring any trace of the Blackwater 100 (historic offroad race) around town. Sunday was raining and we spent the entire day at the cabin having the most peaceful day watching the clouds roll through.

Lovely Memorial Day weekend, was super quiet, and right where we wanted to be for some great hiking. WiFi and TV worked great. Kitchen was a major plus with a great layout and plenty of space (Keurig and drip coffee maker for any who might be wondering). Bed was comfy and keyless entry is always a plus. Lura was quick to respond to any questions we had. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and are likely to return.

I've been to many lakeside AirBnbs, but this one set the bar SO high, it'll be hard to match! The amenities were above & beyond any others-from available fishing rods, to a step stool in the powder room for the 'littles', to a huge assortment of toys for the kids, to something never mentioned but which I appreciated--dimmer switches on lights! The kitchen was incredibly well stocked - I found literally every single thing we needed. I have never felt more at home, literally, at a lakeside place! Spectacular views and vibe from deck! Watching the geese on the water daily was lovely. And he mud room was SUPER helpful to have! The well-coordinated woodsy-themed decor/blankets were much appreciated. Coffee on the deck with a cozy blanket in the morning ... mmmmm! Many thanks to Bryan & Becky for their attention to detail and helpfulness! Not only was Bryan super efficient w/communications, but I felt like I was talking to a helpful friend, not just a host.

Beautiful views, quiet, clean, and had everything we needed. Plenty of good quality towels, toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, soap, etc. Enjoyed looking at the stars from the hot tub.

We loved this place! We were really impressed with our stay here! We stay in Airbnbs often and this is the cleanest one we have stayed in. Spotless. The home was just as described and more. It was so comfortable -we were immediately at home when we walked in. The furnishings and decor were all high end and well put together. Cozy. The location was perfect. We went to the Dolly Sods, Seneca Rocks, Blackwater Falls, Lindy Point, Spruce Knob and Bald Knob during our stay. All within driving distance and the cabin was centrally located for all of our hikes. We did a puzzle at the dining table and sat in the porch to relax. The bed was super comfortable and the sheets were so soft I am hoping to find the same kind for our bed at home. The kitchen was very nice and had everything we needed during our stay. Our only regret is we didn’t stay longer! We will definitely be back and look forward to another stay here. Best around. Ali was an excellent host. Thank you Ali!

The property had everything we needed for our 2 nights ski trip at Timberline Mountain. Walk to lift is uphill but very close, less than 10mins. The sleeping arrangement in the house worked great for our group of 3 couples and 3 kids. There were 3 bathrooms in total. We enjoyed the games and the living area with plenty of space to share meals and conversations. Bathrooms and kitchen were stocked with the essentials, it was great we didn’t have to worry about bringing detergents, trash bags, etc. Hosts were very responsive and provided clear check in/out instructions. We were very lucky with fresh snow (3-5 inches) overnight during our short stay and the mountain and surrounding was extremely beautiful. We hope to come back again next season!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful cabin over the weekend. The place was incredibly clean, peaceful, and exactly what we were looking for. Josh, the owner, was very friendly and helpful, which made our experience even better. Everything met or exceeded our expectations, and we truly enjoyed every moment. We would absolutely love to come back and stay again. Highly recommended!
