“Texas hospitality at it’s best! This beautiful home felt like a retreat. The guest accommodations and the main house are separated by a courtyard that hosts a bountiful vegetable garden and an array of different succulents and flowers. I spent every morning walking the path around the gardens, watching the birds and butterflies and listening to the fountain gurgle. My 2 small dogs had the time of their life running around this pet-friendly paradise. The resident pups, Shorty and Cookie, were very sweet and didn’t interfere with my dogs at all. The Bunkhouse itself was immaculately clean and boasted all sorts of little amenities. There was a variety of fresh fruit waiting for us upon arrival and every morning a little insulated lunch bag magically appeared on the porch with breakfast. On Sunday, Michelle prepared a whole loaf of plant-based banana bread for me! It was delicious, of course, but the thoughtfulness of our host was what really impressed me. This place is a destination in of itself. Cuero has some interesting history if you’re up for the quick trip downtown but I opted to stay on the property and just refill my cup. It was the perfect weekend getaway and I hope to return soon! Thank you Michelle!”

“This is just like visiting your grandparent's house in the country when you were little. It's very homey, very serene and full of everything you need. We enjoyed fishing in the ponds, petting the farm dog and checking out all of the birds and jackrabbits. The AC is ice cold and the furniture is comfortable. It's a great place to just relax in.”

“My kids (ages 12, 7, 6) and I had barely left the house since March due to COVID and we needed a change of pace. I choose this airbnb because it seemed safe and low-key. It ended up being one of the most enjoyable experiences we have ever had. We didn't want to leave and were immediately making plans for a return trip. There were SO many highlights. Just to name a few - my kids played fetch with the dogs, drove a kid-sized firetruck, climbed a several hundred year-old oak tree, did all sorts of tricks in the huge above ground swimming pool, swung on the tree swing, got a little workout in the garage gym, and helped feed the horses, cows, chickens, and ducks. We became inspired by Rick and Susan's self-sustaining, fun, and easygoing lifestyle, which includes grown-up toys like motorcycles, ATVs, and an RV. The apartment itself had everything we needed and it was a real treat to be able to cook fresh eggs from the farm. My kids and I made memories that will last a lifetime. Rick and Susan are phenomenal hosts!”
