Upper Pond View

John kindly upgraded us to the 2 bedroom house below the flat, so it’s difficult to review the flat itself (as this review will still be linked to the flat!). I believe the house can be found on John’s profile if interested- it was ideal for our stay. Clean and comfortable, fully stocked kitchen and great shower. The house also has 2 parking bays which was great,. The location is the same for the flat & house though (as the flat is above the house), so can comment on that- Four Elms is a sweet village, the crossroads sadly does get noisy at certain times. There isn’t mobile reception at the house and we had several occasions where the internet went down (which isn’t John’s fault at all), but did mean we had a few days with zero internet access- I would keep this in mind if working from home as we had to go out to even send a text.

The Hideout - in the heart of Ashdown Forest

Staying at Jo’s cottage was so pleasant and blissful. It was the perfect weekend away. I stayed with my pup and we were both comfortable and secure. I brought groceries with me to cook but the cottage had coffee, tea, olive oil, and a few bits of seasonings which I think was a really thoughtful touch and so useful. The kitchen has everything you need! The secure front garden was also ideal and perfect for letting the dog out and not being worried about him wandering off. It’s also a really beautiful spot to sit and read or enjoy some breakfast or lunch if the sun is out. The area itself is very quiet and peaceful. It’s the best location if you’re a single person looking for a place to stay and enjoy nature.

What a lovely little cottage. It had everything we needed. It was also in a beautiful and quite part of the world so we slept very well. Parking was also ample and easy to get in and out of in my large van. Will definitely stay there again.

Private modern Annexe for 2, next to village green

What a lovely place! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Annex. I was concerned about the double bed , as we normally sleep on a super king, but found it very comfortable. With the good weather it was great having breakfast on the private patio. It was a good break. Helen provided good communication from booking to check out.Thankyou

The Forest Den

Alyson went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, and is a really thoughtful host. Her animals are all very calm, and full of affection. The Den is a great place to relax after a day of exploring the local countryside.

The cottage was everything advertised and more! Jim and Caroline were extremely attentive and provided some lovely touches for our arrival. We ate at the hotel in the village ( 5 minute stroll) and went into London from Borough Green ( 3 minute drive) it was a perfect base for getting around the wonderful Kent countryside and it certainly lives up to it cosy cottage name. We will be back … 5 stars
