Jimmy and Annette were amazing hosts! We had the opportunity to chat with them for a bit and it was a pleasure sharing travel experiences. They also have the cutest pup, Brillo, who loves treats and pets. Their place was beautiful, cozy, well-designed, and felt private and secure. Everything was clean and it was a close walk to the beach which was perfect to catch sunrise. The front porch, complete with hammock, was ideal for morning coffee and to take in the jungle. We saw agouti and heard howler monkeys daily. Would 100% stay here again. Highly recommended. A+

Julia’s place is an absolute gem, nestled in the calm waters of the Caribbean Sea at the southern tip of Isla Cristóbal—about a 30-minute boat ride from the main island, Isla Colón. From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were stepping into a unique off-grid paradise. The house itself is self-sustaining, powered by solar energy and using filtered rainwater (which, by the way, tastes amazing!). While there’s no air conditioning, there are plenty of fans to keep the air moving. The views from the house are absolutely stunning. In the mornings, dolphins often patrol the area like local marine police, and right beneath the house, we saw massive snappers swimming in the clear waters. If you paddle out into deeper water by kayak or paddleboard, you’ll likely spot graceful rays gliding beneath you—an unforgettable experience. Victoriano, a local caretaker, was extremely helpful on the property and in surrounding areas and guided us on a hike to see the sloths and the monkeys.

the place is really peaceful and secluded. it's perfect if you want to stay in manzanillo. it does look bigger in the photos so just know it's like a small studio but still perfect for solo traveling or a couple. they had bikes for me to use so it was really nice to go to punta uva and playa grande. overall i liked it!

This is the most relaxed I have been in years. I’d stay a year if I could afford it. The sounds of nature just make it so easy to drift off to a nice sleep. The outside kitchen was not difficult to work with. Everything I needed was literally right there. The pool is perfect for relaxing in and is private. While I have a child, it was particularly nice to have a kid free atmosphere where you can just relax. There are so many things to do near by and Jim and his wife are lovely. Luna, the pup, is an absolute joy. I already miss it and can’t wait to come back! Thank you for your hospitality and the relaxing weekend. 🫶🏽

Pipa beach was a great home base for exploring Bocas. The restaurant and beach 2 feet from the door are magical additions. The sound of the waves crashing as you sleep is beautiful. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a more relaxed feel close to Bocas town.

What a wonderful place! Being right on the beach, listening to the waves all day and night – absolutely priceless! Also, the villa is even better than pictured. The folks working there, especially Alejandro, was extremely helpful. We highly recommend Karen and David's serene villa!

Beautiful home surrounded by nature! My wife and I came for our honeymoon and felt so at peace. Despite no A/C, we weren’t burning up and were still able to sleep with a sheet on. We found lots to do near the property and were up the street from the wildlife rescue. You can get most places on a bike but a car made everything even more accessible, including other activities and tours. The beaches were beautiful, with more than 3 being in a 10 minute driving radius. Would stay again!!

Unser Aufenthalt in der Villa in Puerto Viejo war einfach unvergesslich! Die Unterkunft liegt eingebettet im tropischen Grünen und bietet absolute Ruhe und Privatsphäre – ideal, um dem Alltag zu entfliehen und in die entspannte Atmosphäre der Karibikküste einzutauchen. Die Villa selbst war geräumig, sehr sauber und mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Besonders beeindruckt waren wir vom Außenbereich mit Pool und Hängematten – ein perfekter Ort, um zu entspannen und die Natur zu genießen. Jeden Morgen wurden wir vom Zwitschern der Vögel und gelegentlichen Brüllaffen geweckt – ein echtes Naturerlebnis! Die Lage ist ebenfalls top: nur wenige Minuten mit dem Fahrrad oder Auto ins Zentrum von Puerto Viejo und zu wunderschönen Stränden wie Playa Cocles oder Punta Uva. Trotz der Nähe zu allem fühlt man sich hier wie in einer ruhigen Oase. Der Gastgeber war super freundlich, hilfsbereit und immer erreichbar, falls wir Fragen hatten oder Tipps brauchten.
