Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Douro River

I spent a glorious month at Maria Celeste’s home. It was simply the best place to reset, connect with nature & rest. I’ve never been to a more peaceful home. Freshly squeezed orange juice (from trees) every morning. Lemons for water. A natural spring to swim off hiking grime. Mountains to climb surrounding the entire home. Lizard & butterfly friends. And so so quiet. Maria Celeste picked me up & drove me to the location. Taxi services available to go to town when needed. I can not recommend staying at this home more. If you need some R’n’R, stay. You won’t regret it.

This place is an absolute gem. It is one of the nicest places we found in Portugal. The house is located in a small vineyard. Beds were comfortable. There’s a wood fired barbeque a great outdoor covered area and a beautiful infinity pool. Every morning we had fresh bread delivered to our doorstep. We picked lemons and oranges from around the house and had the host deliver us fruit. It was beautiful and quiet. The only negative is that we enjoy the place so much we did not visit any of the surrounding areas😊. If we had any questions, the host was response almost immediately with suggestions for places to go restaurants, markets. We had an excellent day and would return and stay there again anytime. It is definitely a 10 out of 10 definitely highly recommended.

We can’t say enough about how magical our stay was. The unit is adorable and so unique. We loved the setting- the vineyards, the birds. The hosts were so friendly and helpful. The sunset was glorious. The pool was a welcome respite from the heat. There is only one air conditioner in one bedroom, which in conjunction with a fan did a reasonable job of keeping the house cool on a very hot day. The kitchen is fine for light cooking.

It felt like home when we returned after 6 six years. The place of Laurence & Jorge is in line with the pictures and the view is amazing. The house has everything you need, we really loved the mattresses and the pillows. The house is surrounded by a large garden, and we liked the privacy and the fruit trees in the garden. Getting into the house is easy and communication is perfect. We will definitely return again! We recommend to do some groceries before you arrive, the nearest supermarket is a 15 min drive away. What a lovely stay! We immediately had to take our own photos to show the family. The property is very well presented, and we were provided with fresh fruit and eggs on arrival. We also had access to the private garden (more like a forest), which led down to the river. An unexpected surprise! We recommend to anyone looking at this listing!

We had the most incredible stay at this beautiful home! It’s spacious, stylish, and absolutely perfect for a large group. The layout is ideal with bedrooms upstairs and downstairs feels like a dedicated hosting space, perfect for socialising, gathering, a nice big hot tub!!!! The views are truly spectacular we enjoyed barbecuing while overlooking the vineyards, which felt like something out of a dream. It’s even more stunning in real life than in the photos (which is saying a lot!). The hostess was absolutely lovely so friendly and helpful. She responded promptly to every request and made us feel so welcome throughout our stay. I genuinely can’t fault this place. If I could, I’d return every weekend! It’s ideal for groups of friends, families. The house is incredibly well-suited for the Douro Valley and ticks every box. Thank you, thank you, thank you for such a wonderful stay! Would 101% recommend!

It is a very nice place with beautiful views and a very natural environment that gives you a lot of peace and quiet and you only hear the birds singing. The house is very comfortable, very nice and very clean and Roberto is very attentive to everything. I recommend it. It is a place to disconnect

The most amazing Airbnb I have ever stayed at. So value for what it is and it was beyond our expectations. Would love to stay here again. Carlos was so responsive, flexible with check in and assisted us with different taxi options when needed. The house keepers were so lovely and helpful

From arrival at Luis place I felt at home and in the company of a wonderful host. Luis contacted me daily to make sure everything was OK and provided recommendations for activities and places to visit. I enjoyed the pedestrian zone, the parks, the bookstore the riverside and churches all on waking distance from the apartment. I was pleased to meet his daughter Teresa who make me feel more like part of a family. I will always remember Luis kindness and charm. Thanks also for helping me get a taxi for my early ride to the airport. I will definitely book your beautiful place again on my next trip to Porto.

Cesar was a wonderful host - he communicated with us quickly and effectively. The flat was beautiful and right in the heart of Madrid, you cannot ask for a better location. Our very favourite was Le Coquette which is a blue bars just a short walk away. You cannot go wrong with this spot - thank you for the memories

If I were to own a place in Porto this is the one I would want! Centrally located, within a short walk to all the major sights, it is on the top two floors on a corner with a terrace on both sides, great views in both directions, sun all day and as much privacy as you could hope for in the middle of a city. The classical building is beautifully restored. The apartment has superb minimalist detailing of the modern insertions: en suites, bathroom, kitchen and stair. It is excellent thermally. In mid-July the cool evenings balanced the warm days and with one bedroom window ajar at night we did not need the air-conditioning even on the upper living level. However you might want the well sealed external doors and windows closed for early morning garbage collections, and possibly for the street performers below during the afternoon and early evening but mostly we enjoyed the music and liveliness. It is expensive but worth it for the quality, especially if you need the second bedroom.

An outstanding Airbnb in a beautiful location. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable, with the added bonus of several different places to sit in the garden and enjoy the spectacular views of the Douro valley. But it's the hosts that make this place so special. Casimiro and his son Manuel represent what Airbnb is all about; they personally welcomed us, offering lots of recommendations for places to visit and local restaurants, but were never intrusive. Casimiro's wife had prepared a tray of 'entradas' - a Portuguese starter of cured meats, cheeses, bread and olives - plus a bottle of local wine. A couple of days later Casimiro appeared with an huge bowl of cherries from their own orchard. This Airbnb wasn't just somewhere to stay for a few nights, but an experience to be treasured.

Wonderful apartment in a walkable area with lots of restaurants and shops. The space was so welcoming and had everything we needed. Very comfortable bed, a must have for a good stay! Fatima was always warm and helpful with recommendations. It is located on a busy walking street, so if you go to bed early you may want to bring earplugs but that seems a small price to pay for this excellent location!

The apartment was perfect. The host helped us solving some issues we had during the stay. They were great and extremely kind. We highly recommend and will definitely book this apartment again if we come back to Braga.

The apartment is a delight from the moment you walk in. It is beautifully decorated and feels like a home. Great bathroom with amazing rain shower and hot water. Bedroom and kitchen and living areas are all well presented and equipped with all you need and with lots of additional touches. Very quiet for sleeping, and great air conditioning in bedroom and living area. Great location to explore Porto, and don’t even have to walk very far at all, including a great cafe next door, to find lovely eating places. Pedro was a wonderful host in every way.

This was an absolutely amazing and beautiful location for ourselves and our friends to unwind and enjoy. Miles and Pilar are wonderful hosts, they welcomed us with a lovely bottle of wine, which we enjoyed immensely while taking in the spectacular views from the rooftop terrace. Restaurants, shops and grocery stores were within walking distance, so we had options as to prepare meals in the well appointed kitchen or to dine out. Overall we had an outstanding experience and can’t recommend enough!

This is the best place to stay. Accessibility, price, cleanliness, etc. are perfect. I want Koreans to stay here. The structure of the accommodation itself is very similar to that of a Korean officetel.

Nuno’s Porto studio was great! The location is perfect as it has various great restaurants and cafes right on the same street and you can walk to anywhere in the city within 10-15 min. The place was a modern studio that was very clean and had cool views. Nuno was very responsive and accommodating. I would stay here again!

Had a great stay at Carlos's place, location couldn't be any better and the terrace was awesome! Would highly recommend to anyone thinking of staying

Great apt and centrally located near Malasaña. Despite being on a big street it was very quiet at night. We had a great stay.
