“The perfect place to explore everything the area has to offer. If you are interested in WW1 sites there are so many of the more well known nearby including Dunkirk and Ypres. Dixmuide itself was a real surprise to us, so much to see explaining the Belgian side of the conflict and the town was lovely to walk around and has many good places to eat. The house itself is in a very quiet village but still close to town. If you are interested in wildlife there is a nature reserve just around the corner which was well worth a visit, there are others nearby as well. Hans was kind enough to offer us the use of bikes and though we didn't take him up on the offer this time we are already planning a return visit and we hope to explore the many cycling routes in the area. As well as all the WW1 sites you are also less then 45 minutes from Brugge and if it's the sea you want there was a lovely beach area at Neuwpoort which was about 20 minutes away. As for the house it was a real treat for the music lover with an extensive cd collection at our disposal. It was very cosy, comfortable and clean and the garden would be lovely to sit out in on warmer days but even in October it was nice to sit and watch the birds. Thank you Hans for being so welcoming and we look forward to visiting your beautiful home once again.”

“I really don't know where to begin. This place was simply enchanting. From the thoughtful touches to the hallway surprises every morning.... Patrick and Mieke really go out of their way to welcome you into their home, to help you find local eats and activities, and they're the kind of people that are just so genuinely nice. I am going to rant and rave about my visit to Belgium for years to come and I will always tell everyone to visit the Belgium countryside bc this place was beyond charming, clean, cozy, and just a peaceful, peaceful place to stay. I hope to bring my kids and husband back here every summer! Thank you for making our first visit to Belgium so welcoming and enchanting.”
