My place is small, cozy, unique, clean and comfortable within walking distance to quaint downtown areas. While it does have sleeping accomodation for up to 5 guests, that is a tight fit, with a queen-sized futon and small sofa bed in the living room and a queen-sized bed in the single bedroom. The bedroom is curtained off for privacy. It is most comfortable for 2-3 travelers.
Vintage 26ft airstream in an artist's compound with an additional adjacent 'dining' vintage trailer for use with fridge included. Private, fenced. Picnic table, hammock, outside kitchen, Outhouse Hot Shower and WC. High Desert haven in an old mining ghost town. Remote, quiet, 4750 ft elevation surrounded by mountain peaks, see spectacular sunsets and the milky way - no light pollution. All nationalities welcomed we speak French, English fluently and a bit of Dutch and Spanish.
“Jude & Pierre are two lovely warm human beings who genuinely love people (and Kane the gorgeous lab) . They both make you feel very welcome and have additional tips & advice and little local walks around Darwin. Definitely take their advice and do the short hike to the nearby veiwpoint which is simply stunning. Always wanted to stay in an airstream and this certainly didn't disappoint. The airstream to sleep and chill in; the retro camper to eat in. Plenty of space outside to relax and stargaze...and oh my the stars. Darwin is such an interesting place, an old gold mining town where you get a real sense of how it must have been 'back in the day'. Recommend reading the history of Darwin, such wild times! This really is a great place to 'get away from it all' and perfect location for exploring that section of DV - limekilns, Emigrant & Wildrose Canyons, Panamint Springs etc.”
“Highland Desert” sun rises over the Spring Mountains with spectacular views of Mt Charleston & sets over Death Valley. This is a serene pit stop amidst adventures through the Southwestern United States. Death Valley National park entrance is 45 minutes away in one direction, Las Vegas an hour drive the opposite way and a little further is Zion National park! Going west? The beaches of California, Sequoia national park and Yosemite are about 4-5 hours away!
“As the travel restrictions start to lighten we searched for a private location outside of CA. The unit was great and exactly as shown. Clean and extra supplies! Rachel did a great job providing us with areas local to the unit to hike, eat and explore! Quick drive from Las Vegas to do a quick sightseeing trip from the car. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for privacy, physical distancing , and a relaxing getaway! Thank you Rachel we had a great time and will be back!”
