Vacation rentals with a fireplace in County Mayo

Amazing location (if you like solitude). Beaches right there! Wonderful megalithic sites nearby. Horses to pet. All amenities you could want. Had a blast cooking in the wonderful kitchen. Weather was AMAZING. We had some downtime at the beach and watched beautiful sunset which was recommended by our host! We HIGHLY recommend this place. We were sad to leave it.

Recently we stayed in Carme's place for two nights and it was a home away from home. The house is beautiful, spacious and cosy and it boasts a beautiful view of Croagh Patrick. I loved seeing the cows in the field while having my breakfast and the family sheep dog is so friendly. Thank you Carmel for your delicious home baked bread, jam and your farm eggs. It was such a lovely and welcoming gesture. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our only regret was that we only stayed for 2 nights! We will just have to come back!

A traditional Irish cottage, beautifully appointed. Suitable for two couples as the two double bedrooms both have ensuite shower rooms, with a downstairs lavatory also available. Newport is a characterful village (the inhabitants call it a town) and the public house next door has a welcoming landlord, good food and friendly locals. There are four or five other public houses in Newport, which we didn't have time to visit over a two night stay. We enjoyed our short visit to Mayo, and could have spent more time there. Waterfront cottage is well situated, extremely well kept and comfortably homely.

We loved staying in this house! There was plenty of room for our family of four. It was spacious, clean, had everything we needed, and was easy to find with Marion’s directions. I appreciated the extensive instructions for the appliances and specific instructions on where to find anything we might need. The privacy and beautiful views were wonderful and we hated to leave!! 10/10 I’d definitely stay here again!!

Amazing as always! Mayo has truly become our sweet home in Doohooma, and staying here just makes it feel even more special every time. The house was spotless, cozy, and had everything we needed (as usual). A big shoutout for the new dryer – such a great upgrade, and it honestly made me even happier this time around! It’s just those little thoughtful touches that make this place perfect. We absolutely love staying here and will always come back. Thankkkkk uuuu so much again! ❤️

The location was excellent for a wedding we attended at knockranny hotel, also walking distance to the town centre. Paul had milk in the fridge and a few essentials which was a lovely touch! The house was very homely and welcoming!

Eine traumhafte Lage mit Ausblick in jede Himmelsrichtung, jeweils ganz besonders und dadurch nie langweilig. Ein guter Startpunkt für etliche (Wander-) Touren. Auch hierzu Tipps erhalten. Sonne (wenn Sie denn scheint) von morgens bis abends am bzw im Haus. Wir haben bereits nach wenigen Tagen entschieden, dass wir nächstes Jahr wieder kommen wollen. Zum erholen genießen und abschalten eine der besten Unterkünfte die ich kenne. Und keine Angst vor der Zufahrt, ist wirklich absolut machbar und fordert weder ein besonderes Auto noch einen besonderen Fahrer.

We enjoyed our 5 night stay at Marie's very much! Could have stayed longer. Everything was clean, the beds very comfortable. It's a little ways outside of Westport so it's a perfect combination of quiet and peaceful but still with plenty to do close by. We spent lots of time in the living room just enjoying the amazing view. Kitchen was well stocked and easy to use. Hopefully we can stay again one day!

Enjoyed our stay with Eileen. She made sure to welcome us and answered any questions. Beautiful location.

La météo était mauvaise, et notre hôte nous a avertit que le logement était libre une heure plus tôt. Un grand merci à lui pour ce suivi et l'accueil. Le studio est paisible, très proche des restaurants et commerces. Le bourg de Clifden est à proximité (30 mn de voiture) de nombreuses attractivités touristiques. La découverte du Connemara en séjournant à Clifden a été très agréable.

Mary and Paddy were amazing hosts. Being on their ranch was so much fun. The view of the lake is incredible. They both were very helpful. I would highly recommend staying at their place. We loved it.

Mary and Eamonn’s place was one of our favorite places that we stayed in on our trip. Their property is beautiful and serene. The little hiking trails that lead to the river were lovely to take a contemplative walk. Eamonn was great in making sure that we were settled in and gave some great recommendations for some local walks. Being greeted by their dog Coco every morning was a great start to the day! We wish we could have stayed there longer. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a peaceful getaway that is still close to town.

Irish hospitality at its best. Our hosts were lovely, bringing us freshly laid eggs most days and usually around at the end of the day for a friendly chat. The location was great, we loved our evening strolls along the beach. We hope to return someday.

Very comfortable, cosy apartment for 2 people. Very high standard of insulation. Very well equipped kitchen in terms of pots, pans, utensils, plates etc. Excellent Welcome Pack along with lots of the daily needs .. oil, salt, pepper, tea, coffee, butter, bread etc etc . . above our standard experience in this respect. Very quiet location but still only 10-15 mins easy walk to Clifden shops, restaurants and pubs. Susan was a very responsive communicator before and during our stay. We would highly recommend.

Had a wonderful time staying at Helen’s place, cannot say enough good things about it! It’s a lovely, well equipped, and very private two bedroom condo, with an incredible view over the water. It’s right off the center of Clifden, and an easy walk to everything the town has to offer. And it’s easy to drive off to all of the places you’ll want to visit in Connemara, if you can tear yourself away. Helen was very responsive and super friendly, even to the point of standing outside to flag me down as I walked by! And with them living just above (although you hear nothing!), you feel there’s help nearby should you need it. The description was spot on, and Helen was very clear about the condo being down a long flight of stairs from the street. We recommend Helen’s Airbnb very highly, and hope to stay there again soon!

Our stay at Aidan’s home far exceeded our expectations. It is a little slice of paradise. The home is much larger than the photos indicate, plenty of room for our family of four to spread out. We cooked most of our meals there which was very easy as his kitchen is fully stocked with everything we needed. The outdoor spaces and view were magical. Aidan was kind enough to suggest a fishing spot for our son which was greatly appreciated. The town of Westport was easily drivable - a 15-20 minute drive. We would definitely stay again if we’re ever in the area.

Thoroughly recommend. Beautiful house, very homely, with lots of space, super garden and amazing view. We had 4 very happy days here. Nicky was a super host, very kind and responsive. Thank you.

Located in a private forest, Finola's estate is a living history. It's my first time staying in such an old building. A quiet country road takes us into the woods, then the fountain welcomed us, just like entering an elegant Victorian film. The house is equipped with all modern facilities and even a bathtub. The first day, the wifi was not functioning, but Finola helped promptly. Minor flaws: the cups were not cleanly washed, and providing toiletries would make it even more perfect.

Gerrys place is a must stay in Clifden! It’s right in the heart of the beautiful town, lots of incredible restaurants and pubs and lovely boutique shops too. Gerrys top floor apartment was immaculate (the cleanest most well stocked airbnb we’ve stayed in for a while!) lovely showers, comfy beds and the view from the lounge window is amazing overlooking the town. Highly recommend!
