We live where neighbors know and care for each other and where grandparents pass land on to their children and grandchildren. That heritage is evidenced by our beautiful local parks! Our town is a sort of traffic nucleus, with Charlotte approximately 1 hour to the east, Asheville less than 1 hour to the west, and Lenoir heading to Boone 20 minutes to the north. We are 5-20 minutes away from 5 hospitals which is perfect for traveling nurses and doctors. We want to add to your travel experience!

Quiet Studio Apartment, Private 1 BR on our Farm

Studio apartment in the basement of our home. It has its own driveway and entrance. The studio apartment locks from the outside and locks from the rest of our basement. It is about 800 sq. ft. Our house is conveniently located to Hickory (10 miles) Morganton (10 miles) Lenoir (15 miles) Table Rock/Lake James (20 miles) Blue Ridge Parkway( 35 miles) Boone (50 miles) Charlotte (50 miles). We also have a 70 acre cattle and sheep farm that you are free to explore. Very quiet and private.

Nestle into your own corner of our 8 acres. Kick back in a forest setting while leaving the rest behind. Wander our nature path. Sit on the screened in porch or by the crackling firepit, take a shower outdoors or soak in the roomy spa. Rural foothills living in Western NC, convenient to Hickory, Morganton, Valdese & Lenoir. Great parks & lakes to explore. (Boat launch is 4 miles away). Check out a local winery/brewery. The Blue Ridge parkway is a short drive & absolutely breathtaking.

The 2-1-3 house

The 2-1-3 house is a charming 1950's bungalow right in the heart of hickory, just minutes from downtown, Lenoir Rhyne college, and many other corporate offices. Coffee houses, restaurants, grocery store, pharmacy and dry cleaning are all within walking distance. The 215 is pet friendly, however we REQUIRE a $20 pet fee, per pet ,also no more than 2 pets allowed. Animals can be no larger than 40 lbs. When you book please select the amount of guest including the pet/pets as guest.

The Farmhouse at Highlands Family Farms

Make some memories at The Farmhouse at Highlands Family Farm. This 45 acre working farm has been in operation since the late 1890s. The recently remodeled farmhouse has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a full kitchen, a family room and a relaxing front porch with a porch swing and two rocking chairs. The farm pastures are full of cattle, pigs and egg laying hens. The products from the farm can be purchased at Highlands Butchery a farm to table restaurant and butcher shop in Valdese.

Spacious Mountain Cabin -Top Riverside Unit

Custom top duplex nestled in a private small BnB community, entrance up front, 20ft vaulted ceilings, large rock gas log fireplace, remodeled kitchen, new appliances, 1 & 1/2 baths, wrap around porch, and large sunroom overlooking the river and mountains. In the huge backyard are two private fire-pits: one on sandy area on the river bank and the other to the right of the house looking up river. Riverside lower duplex enters from back/other side. *No shared inside space.

My place is in the middle of the local main attractions - we are close to Blowing Rock (35 min.), Boone (55 min.), South Mountains, (60 min.) Asheville (75 min.) - A great area for hiking and biking. You’ll love my place because of peaceful, natural, creative sensibilities throughout this newly renovated apartment - a blend of interesting and unique elements from my travels. This space is perfect for anyone looking for solace, and a respite from the everyday life.
