Abagail was very helpful in getting settled. The house is full of interesting antiques and paintings. There was a wonderful view of the Litchfield Hills and a lot to do outside. It is rustic but it has every convenience of home. Great shower. Must have been a barn but now it is a museum of Art Nueveau treasures and stained glass. Very peaceful and slept great.

19th c. Barn in The Berkshires

JohnRating, 5 stars6 months ago
Our party of four adults and two small kids really enjoyed our weekend in this unique and tastefully renovated former barn. The linens, bedding, and towels were all top quality, the kitchen was well equipped, and overall the place was comfortable and spotless. The location is super private and quiet, surrounded by nature and farmland, including an on-site stream and sheep (that's not a typo). A great spot to stay for a visit to the northern Berkshires - Mt. Greylock and Mass MoCA are very nearby. Our visit was on a frigid winter weekend with a ton of snow and outside temps in the 20s, yet our indoor temps were toasty and very comfortable, especially with the wood stove.

Stunning Rustic Apple Barn - hot tub & sauna

ChristianRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had a wonderful stay! It's such a beautiful and unusual cabin. It would be great for two couples as there are 2 equally great bedrooms that are quite separate, and a very nice sitting area around the amazing wood stove. (Which we didn't use because it's June and not necessary.) The hot tub was such a treat, and the bedroom with the boat was so cool. (OK, so maybe the bedrooms aren't quite equally great.) The kitchen is outstanding! We sat out on the porch a lot looking over the meadow, and I really liked that we were able to bring our dog. About the notes and instructions: they didn't bother us at all. There's a few non-intuitive features of the cabin, and it was useful to have clear guidance on those things. I want to make clear why I gave 4 stars for "cleanliness". I think they do an excellent job cleaning this cabin! But a rustic cabin like this is impossible to make "5-star clean". If you want or need that level of cleanliness, then "rustic" isn't for you! Go find a nice hotel.

We had a great getaway at Jennifer's home in Hunter! Our total party was 4 adults and 4 kids under 4 years old and we were very comfortable in the space - ample sized bedrooms, bathrooms and living room/kitchen area. Jennifer was quick to respond to questions and provided some good recommendations for restaurants and other local sites to visit.

BEARfoot Bungalow

KristenRating, 5 stars4 days ago
We had a great stay at Nancy's from 6/20-6/22. it's a quick 5 min drive from main st and close to so many great places. it had the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere but close to restaurants, etc. We had no issue finding parking near Main st either. The cabin was very clean and cozy. Exactly like the photos. The hottub was very clean as well. We did not use the firepit or outdoor shower but it was nice to have them if we wanted to. The bed was very comfortable as well. It stayed pretty cool inside even when it got hot outside. We kept the windows open and slider(when we were physically there). We did not use the AC but nice to have it if needed. We brought our dog Locket and she enjoyed it too. Nancy had food and water bowls to use if needed and she left Locket some treats and a ball with a note from her dog which was so sweet! Nancy also left a few beers and 2 water bottles in the fridge which was very sweet as well! We had a great time and would definitely stay again!

We had a truly wonderful stay at this beautifully converted barn in Essex, Connecticut. It was charming and full of artistic touches that made it feel both unique and inviting. The space was spotless and thoughtfully arranged, making it perfect for a weekend getaway with my kids. The location couldn’t have been better—tucked away just enough to feel peaceful, yet close to everything we wanted to explore. Communication with our host was seamless and kind from start to finish. We felt so welcome and comfortable and would happily return again. A real gem!

Sugar House Creamery Carriage Barn

JakeRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The Creamery looks great from the pictures, yet they simply don't do the place justice. Set in an idyllic natural environment of the Adirondacks, the apartment offers up a slice of peace and rest bite. The apartment had everything we needed and more, the farm shop on site was a huge bonus and Alex was a friendly face offering to help us with anything we needed. Would highly recommend. Avoid the overly commercial character-less alternatives and stay somewhere incredibly authentic and peaceful.

Historic Carriage House-20 Min to Okemo-Magic MTN

ShaniRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We stayed here while attended to a wedding. The place was great for us as we brought our parents to babysit our baby while went to the wedding. The space was great for us - 4 adults and a baby, and we didn’t use the third bedroom. Big kitchen included all the things we needed for light cooking. The hosts kindly left some basic ingredients like oil, sugar, and much more and it was fantastic as this things are always annoying to carry with you when you go for couple of days. One thing to note is that there is no cooling system in the carriage house, if it gets hot it might be something to consider. Highly recommend for friends/family getaway!

Kapitan’s Cottage: Private Retreat with Salt Pool

TaliRating, 5 stars5 days ago
The cottage is lovely, clean, and immaculately decorated. Great taste. We enjoyed the pool, which was perfect for our four year old given how shallow half of it was, and how the temperature was perfect, even on days when it wasn’t too hot outside. We hadn’t realize that the kitchen didn’t include an oven or microwave—but even so, we had a great time and enjoyed the fire pit! WiFi was a bit spotty but the hosts went above and beyond to try to help. Highly recommend!
