High Plains Drift Inn Courthouse Cabin

Mary Rating, 5 stars10 months ago
Our stay at the Courthouse Cabin was nothing short of amazing. The place is even more beautiful than the photos suggest, with an authentic charm that transports you back to the 1800s. We were a large group of 12 adults and 4 kids, and the Robertson family could not have been more accommodating. They were incredibly flexible with our check-in time, which was a lifesaver since we were coming from 5 hours away and had a few changes in our itinerary. The entire experience reminded me of my grandparents' farm, especially waking up to the sounds of the animals and the fresh breeze. The kids had a blast, even though not all participated in the horse riding. The hosts made sure they could still interact with the horses and even took some great photos. It was a highlight of the trip for them. The Robertson family went above and beyond, even mailing back a blanket that one of the kids left behind. He was over the moon to get it back. We highly recommend this beautiful, off-grid retreat.

A last minute decision for a quick weekend getaway and we were beyond pleased! Such a neat place with all the critters! Made you feel like you were back in time living in the old west, loved it. RV, Cari, Elijah, and the rest of the crew were all super nice and accommodating. Cari is an amazing cook and RV is a good story teller chocked full of knowledge!! I could listen to him for hours!! I wish we could have stayed longer but we will definitely be back!!
A cascading waterfall flows dramatically between rugged rock formations, surrounded by lush greenery. Mist rises from the rushing water, revealing a subtle rainbow created by the sunlight. The serene landscape illustrates the natural beauty of the Rio Grande National Forest.

Huge place. Many rooms. Great kitchen. Great hosts. There are a few rules to follow but easy enough, they respect their space and so should the guests. Was warm, maybe too warm haha, but was perfect for what we needed.
