Waterfront vacation rentals in Colchester

This was my second stay, and once again it was absolutely perfect. The host is incredibly kind and helpful—he goes above and beyond to make sure everything is just right. The property itself is straight out of a dream... right on the lake, peaceful, and beautifully kept. I’ve stayed at a lot of places, but this one feels like home—and honestly, it's my dream home. Can’t wait to come back again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing, top-notch getaway.

a very nice and quiet place for me and my friends to relax! the river was sooo beautiful townake up to in the morning and we all made some s'mores by the campfire! right next to a nice restaurant and a Stewart's so we could even get everything we needed for the fire! would come back here again and thanks for letting us stay!

We had the most fantastic stay with Sheila and Jeremy! The home was spotless and beautifully decorated. Sheila was a proactive and responsive communicator. But what stood out to us more than anything were the various thoughtful touches provided during our stay. We arrived late, after a long drive, and Sheila and Jeremy were there to meet us in person and help carry our bags inside. They had fresh muffins waiting and even left some snacks (cheese, crackers, grapes) in the fridge in case we hadn’t eaten dinner. They also provided coffee, tea, milk, honey, which was great in the mornings, and we so appreciated having access to the washer & dryer to do some laundry. Overall, we can’t say enough good things about our stay and we hope to return!

A fantastic stay with everything we needed! Cozy, quaint, and located right by an amazing river. One of my favorite feautures of this place was being able to hear the water from the rental! We enjoyed our vacation visiting the beauty of Vermont's landscape, while also spending some time in Burlinton

Cheri was an amazing host! She has created a spot that feels both like home and a luxury hotel accommodation. The rental is tucked away from the street, is quiet and private and feels relaxed despite being polished and pristine. Cheri was quick on communication on the Airbnb platform and also popped in to make recommendations and to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed shortly after check-in. The space was perfect for the 2 of us, and we felt right at home. The kitchen is equipped with just the right amount - not too much, not too little. The lighting and fixtures in every room are thoughtfully chosen, and there are 2 heat pump/ AC units making the whole space comfortable. If you are going to Burlington, this is a perfect spot, a 10ish minute walk from church street marketplace. There are many restaurants and places to grab a cup of coffee or tea and a bite to close by. Also, a short walk from the water and a couple of parks. We're very happy with our stay!

When it comes to AirBNBs, this is right at the top! Deb and John's place is full of whimsical and useful touches--from quirky or beautiful art to a drawer full of commonly used tools. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, glasses, coffee, and even a pint of half and half. It is just enough space for a couple, with a bedroom, bath, sitting area, kitchen, and charming front porch. Deb and John live in the other half of the duplex; they were friendly but not intrusive. The location is terrific--right on the bike trail, near a park, and about a mile and a half walk to Church Street with its wonderful restaurants and shops. Parking is difficult in downtown Burlington, so having another way to get there was appreciated! We didn't watch much TV, but note that the house has only cable, no streaming.

Where do I start...from before I arrived, up until my departure...Joanne was attentive in every way possible. All my questions were answered with an immediate response. The home was extraordinary. The effort Joanne has put in to making it just like home shows. With an abundance of whimsical touches. Up until the day I left, I would see a new thing. As if the enchanting home wasn't enough, the back patio is a place of serenity...with the sounds and view of the river extraordinary. I could go on and on, but I will just say, "it was the best vacation I have ever had". One word describes this Airbnb...AMAZING!!!🩷. I will return next year! Didn't want to leave!!! 😊 Thank you Joanne for your exemplary hospitality!

Thank you, Palmer for an enjoyable stay at your beautiful lake house. We came up for a college tour of UVM and the location was perfect. It took us only 20 minutes to get there and then at the end of our day we came back to relax and unwind at your comfy and spotless home. Every room was beautifully furnished , comfortable and really just felt homey. The kids enjoyed hanging out downstairs watching movies while the adults enjoyed cocktails and talking all while taking in the amazing view of the lake. We had a wonderful time and would certainly return. Only two minor issues, one of which just might have been our own unfamiliarity with the home. The living room gets really warm and even though we turned down the thermostat, it kept creeping up. But it could have even been the fact that it was so sunny one of the days we were there. A minor issue. Outside, the railing to get down from the deck to the yard is a bit wobbly in places and may be due to be replaced soon. Also, no big deal.

We loved our stay. It was beautiful and we loved being right by the lake as well as the sauna, fire pit, and outdoor seating. The house was cozy and the little kids toy closet was such a cute touch. We had an amazing time on our family vacation and would definitely recommend this rental. Ash was also so communicative and ready to help if we ever needed anything. So thankful!

We came to visit family but fell in love with the area and hope to visit again. Perfect location with stunning view of the lake and close proximity to many areas to explore and parks. Comfy beds and many small touches such as throw blankets, phone chargers, kcups, ice cube trays and local maple gift. Family enjoyed the hot tub and kayak too. Home very clean. Will definitely rent again when in the area.

Place is clean and modern. View is amazing. Bruce and Virginia are great to work with. Only drawback is the close proximity of the road. Not comparing value to only Vermont so possibly unfair but when compared to other places in the US as well as multiple other countries it could be a better value. We enjoyed our stay.

The house was perfect for our stay with everything we could want for cooking and relaxing. It had amazing views from both inside (big windows!) and outside of Shelburne Bay. The upstairs deck was a wonderful place to sit and watch the lake, all the boats, and lots of waterfowl. Sunsets were spectacular. It was very close to the Shelburne Farms and Shelburne Museum which we enjoyed. Nearby Shelburne Bay Park was a great place to walk on trails or launch a kayak if you bring one. We plan to come back!

Nicholas’s place was great, about 15 minutes from Jay. The house was very clean and everything was well explained. We had a great time and would love to come back!

The view of the lake is so serene and having access to it on the property was quite the bonus feature. My family knew it was too cold to swim but we were looking forward to the calmness of it all. Dominique let us know that she'd be around the last night of our stay which was a nice heads up in case we heard any noises in the main house above. They were very quiet neighbors! We took a trip over to Cold Hollow Sculpture Park during the day to visit during their last open weekend of the year which was a nice way to see some art and the surrounding landscape. Maybe next time we'll get a bite to eat somewhere but we had everything we needed to prepare meals so we mostly stayed put this time around. We'd love to stay again next time we're looking for a VT getaway if they'd have us.

My husband and I stayed in National at 1854 House and we loved it! It was exactly as described, and Sarah was a terrific host. Everything was very clean, she was quick to respond, left detailed instructions about all the unit had to offer, and even gave us some local recommendations. The bed was comfortable, the view was great, and the swing in the living room was a wonderful extra touch. The location was perfect for exploring all of northern Vermont. We couldn’t have asked for a better trip. We would absolutely stay in National again. Definitely recommend!

Spacious and well supplied, comfortable bed and relaxing back porch. Host’s were very accommodating and responsive. Walkable to town or short drive to attractions. Others have noted hearing occupants in the upstairs condo this was not an issue for us, we slept soundly. Would stay again if in the area.

We enjoyed this condo! Bright, comfortable, great condition, nice design, very good amenities including condo pool, hot tubs, tennis courts, recreation center. Close to Sugarbush. Easy shuttle.

Very comfortable stay - convenient to ski wither Sugarbush or Mad River. Philip sent specific instructions for turning the heat up on arrival. It took a little while to warm up, but individual thermostats in LR and BR worked nicely. Local recommendations for restaurants and such were spot on.

What a hidden gem in northern Vermont. If you are into skiing, this spot is convenient to access Jay Peak and other great resorts. Regarding the property, our group felt right at home surrounded by a beautiful space with small walking trails and the constant roaring of an amazing waterfall. The space was fully equipped with everything we needed and even more. Completely recommended, you will not be dissapointed.

We came back! Hosted our annual high school friends ski trip again in this great Battleground condo. It's perfect for a MRV ski trip; easily accessible to Sugarbush, Mad River Glen, and town and its restaurants alike. Very comfortable space, beautiful surroundings with the river out back, and the sauna after a ski day is an added, rejuvenating plus. We'll gladly come back again!
