Sunsets and bonfires are beautiful on on the farm. 7 miles north of historic Abilene. We are located on blacktop. We have an array of barnyard critters including but not limited to longhorns, turkeys, roosters, goats, cats, a lamb, some chickens and a couple barking lazy dogs. No pets please, for the health & safety of our livestock.

Mark and Elva were great hosts. They checked to make sure we had everything we needed. They even gave us a place to park our vehicle to avoid hail damage during a storm. The house was spotless and perfect for a crawling baby. The location was peaceful and a perfect place to wind down after a day full of family activities.

We enjoyed being in Ed’s home town and were thrilled to find an airb n b there. We were very comfortable and were able to make simple meals with food we had brought. There are no stores in Gypsum so potential guests need to know they must bring their own food that they want to make. There is a Keurig coffee machine and a variety of spices and flavorings.

Stay at the Shouse

We highly recommend this lovely “Shouse”. The decor represented Abilene and was well done. It is new, clean and fresh with touches of history added in. The bed was comfortable and the neighborhood was quiet. We enjoyed eating breakfast on outdoor patio. It is not far from the interstate yet well into town away from the transient traffic. If ever driving back through Kanas we will stay at the “Shouse” again.
