Cottage vacation rentals in Cavendish

Alecia and John were meticulous hosts from the well curated guide book to their responsiveness when we had questions. All made for a wonderful family fourth of july! We look forward to returning.

We definitely have never stayed in a rental that was so CLEAN! Aside from the labels, it felt as if we were not staying at a rental property at all. When we go away, it’s nice to stay somewhere that’s close to as nice and comfortable as home. We were warm and cozy. The house had everything and way more than we needed and we would like to see how beautiful it would be in the Summertime. The house was spacious and we loved the history and charm that it possesses. The hot tub was a major draw and sparkling clean also. It snowed practically the entire visit and felt private with all the trees surrounding the property. A huge perk was the proximity to Okemo and Killington for the boarders in our group. With the looks of the Volleyball net and court, presumably the owners are fans of the game! Bravo, Alecia- we thank you for your hospitality!

Great house with plenty of space and beds. Living room had ample couches and great for our group to hang out there with the fireplace and hot tub off the back deck of kitchen. Kitchen had all necessary cooking pots/pans/utensils. Easy communication with the hosts and would return.

Perfect place for a ski weekend with a group of friends. House was exactly as described, check in was extremely simple, and all the amenities were in full working order and easy to use (special shout out to the hot tub which was amazing after a day out on the mountain). Location is less than 10 minutes from the Skyeship gondola, less than 20 from the main Killington base areas, and easy to find just off of the main road. Overall we had a great time and would 100% stay here again in the future.

Great place! Big rooms & very clean. The kitchen is well stocked. Great hiking spots in the area... Close to Woodstock/Rutland for summer and VERY close to Killington for Winter. There was an issue with the drive way due to all the rain the Northeast has been getting and Russ was proactive in letting us know. Thanks Russ for being a great host!

This was our second time here, and we loved it just as much as we did the first time. Our dog really enjoys it as well!

Staying at Andas Hus was an Airbnb experience on another level. This little cottage has everything that you could ever need for an extended getaway- we did so much cooking, wandering, made full use of all of the tech, and enjoyed the hot tub for several nights. We had four adults sharing the cabin and it was more than enough room for us. Matt was super responsive and kind when we had questions about the stay. I'll absolutely be recommending Andas Hus to any of my friends and relatives looking for a New England getaway, and maybe we'll be back someday!

I stayed at Tania’s place for a college reunion weekend with 12 guests. Her home was exceptionally clean and easy to get inside. Tania was super responsive throughout. My group enjoyed the location between 2 different ski mountains. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We had a long weekend at the cottage and loved our stay. The house was warm and welcoming and offered a lot to do inside and out. We appreciate the care that was obviously put into making the space so special.

Second time staying with Angela and it was just as great as we remembered. We love the peaceful location in Pawlet - far enough away to disconnect from city life while still being a close enough drive (15-30 min) to great local restaurants in Dorset and Manchester. The space itself is cozy and rustic, keeping its historic charm in tact, while having thoughtful updates to the kitchen and bath that make it functional for everyday use. The shower is incredible and the bed is so comfy, one we actually looked forward to sleeping in again! Angela was a great host and provided us with local coffee, crackers, and their newest Pawlet cheese for enjoying. Already looking forward to visiting again next summer!

We enjoyed our stay so much! The place was nice and clean and quiet, perfectly organised and thought through. Karen was a welcoming, friendly, and helpful host. I wish more AirBnBs were like this! Would be happy to return someday.

Absolutely loved every minute spent here. We had plans for a lot of nearby activities, but the property was so stunning we decided to enjoy it and stayed home. We cooked, had tea by the river, played games and engaged in deep conversations. There were awesome restaurants within 30 mins of driving. We bathed in the river, played in water quite a bit. Linda and Chris were supportive, very responsive and always there for us. Thank you for sharing this stunning property with us. I hope you be back. We were a group of 3 - and we were welcomed with a cute hamper and lots of warmth. Don’t miss the game room - which has a separate entrance from the main house.

We enjoyed our trip and stay very much! Jeremy was an amazing host! very friendly, very easy to communicate with. We brought up our dog which was not a problem with Jeremy. He was very kind, in having snacks, fresh eggs and a fridge full of things for us to have. The koi pond was beautiful. The stay was very peaceful and the view was breath taking.

We came up to Joan's lovely cottage for a peaceful, hiking Christmas vaca and it was absolutely perfect. Joan was a wonderful host, very friendly and generous. We wish Joan was our granny too! Granny camp was comfy, cozy, on a beautiful lake, with lots to do in surroundings areas. Would love to come back in the summer! Thank you!

If you're looking for a slightly rustic, but totally comfortable place to stay near Manchester, this is the ideal location. We have been with our dog Mac for a total of 6 visits to this cozy cottage. The local area has a lot to offer in the beautiful area of the Green Mountains. Kim keeps the cottage very clean and provides you with all the comforts of home. One of the cleanest and comfiest Airbnbs I’ve stayed in. It was a last minute trip and this exceeded my expectations. My sister and I were saying we had the best night of sleep we had in years! There was a huge snow storm and the owner was so accommodating and very easy to get in touch with. We can’t wait to come back 😊

We so enjoy staying at Melissa’s place. It has everything you could need and is an amazing location. We discovered the catamount xc trail is only a short distance away.

We felt right at home in this lovely rustic cabin on the lake. We had to work with Thomas to solve some unfortunate complications during our stay, including a dead rodent in the sink, a lack of sheets and towels, and taking our trash with us. However, we loved the home and had a wonderful weekend in the area. Thank you!

This was the second time we stayed at Sarah's at Christmastime. It's so nice and peaceful and comfortable, and the surrounding countryside is so pretty, the little town is so nice, that we returned for this second time. It felt like coming home for the holidays.

Terrific stay! The wildlife watching from the large living room and kitchen windows was entertaining. We enjoyed using the kayaks and fire pit. The bike path is right out the front door. Camp is cozy and comfortable. Colin and Robin are outstanding hosts!

It’s idyllic. The host provided a thoughtful welcome… a lush bouquet of fragrant peonies centered on the dining table right inside the entry I had mentioned that our group was in the area to enjoy the awesome peony display at nearby Hildene. The rain nixed the opportunity to enjoy the lovely patio. Next time… A beautiful area with lots to enjoy. The tacky ‘outlet’ bonanza in Manchester has been cleaned up (though many still there) from how it was many years ago when I was last there. Mystico 820 on Main Street was excellent and Dorset Bakery cafe in Dorset was perfect for breakfast (or lunch) with charming indoor and covered porch seating. Host provided spot-on recs.

We loved our stay at this cozy cottage! It was super clean, beautifully tucked away in nature, and the perfect spot to relax. If you’re into hiking or just being outside, it’s a dream—plus it’s not far from great trails in the Green Mountain National Forest. Would definitely come back!

We spent a wonderful weekend at the Kreffer’s Crossing Covered Bridge Cottage in Sandgate, VT. Crossing the covered bridge feels like entering a peaceful, hidden retreat. The cottage is cozy and well-equipped, with a spacious kitchen, a comfortable main bedroom, and a relaxing living room. The outdoor space is magical—a beautiful porch with hummingbirds, the calming sound of the river, and a fire pit by the water, perfect for roasting marshmallows and unwinding. What truly made our stay unforgettable was Thomas, the host. He is incredibly kind, thoughtful, and always available if you need anything. His warm personality and attention to detail made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. This was our first visit to Vermont, and thanks to Thomas and his beautiful cottage, it won’t be the last. We left with full hearts and can’t wait to return!
