Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Cape Breton Island

Absolutely loved everything! Caught a beautiful sunset at Margaree Beach, just minutes away. Kate was a fantastic and responsive host and the accommodations had everything we needed to enjoy our stay!

We were in awe of absolutely everything during our stay. Could not stop talking about how perfect everything was, the views, the place itself, and all it included. Host was very friendly and quick to respond as well. This is by far one of the most beautiful places I’ve stayed on the island and I already can’t wait to come back. 10\10 recommend.

The house has absolutely everything you’d need; phone chargers on each side of every bed and multiple in the living room/kitchen, abundance of linen, kids toys/books, all the streaming services, multiple Bluetooth speakers etc. you truly only need to bring your clothes. The house is exceptionally clean as well. If you’re looking to explore farther into Cape Breton Island (highlands national park for example) note that it is a bit of a drive. Otherwise we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this home!

This was an excellent stay. Denise was a great communicator. The location is beautiful, overlooking the ocean and looking up at the cliffs of Cape Breton National Park behind. Close to shopping (incl. grocery) in Cheticamp. We would definitely stay here again.

This was a wonderful place, we loved being right by the ocean and the house had EVERYTHING and more to make the stay wonderful and memorable for our family. We especially liked the well stocked kitchen and the fire pit right out back with the ocean sunset views. Thank you!!

Beautiful, Comfortable Stay in Ingonish Beach We had such a lovely time staying at this beautiful property in Ingonish Beach. The house was spacious and incredibly comfortable – the perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring the Cabot Trail. With two bedrooms and two bathrooms, it was ideal for our group, and the large, well-equipped kitchen made cooking and gathering a real pleasure. One of our favorite parts was the view – looking out at the ocean was absolutely serene and made our mornings and evenings feel so peaceful. The location is fantastic, just minutes from the beach and all the natural beauty the area has to offer. One thing to note: there is a separate unit above the house, and you can hear some noise from above when people are staying there. Fortunately, during our stay, there was only one quiet tenant upstairs, so it wasn’t an issue for us at all – but it’s good to keep in mind if you're looking for total silence. All in all, we had a wonderful experience.

This was our second stay at David’s and just like the first time everything was A-1! If we could give 10 instead of 5, I would! Amazing host, impeccable lodgings and spotless!!

Beautiful and clean accommodations with a very kind and friendly host! The apartment is larger than it looks in pictures and had all the amenities we required. We had a baby crawling around, so we appreciated having such a clean place. Sally and her husband went above and beyond in greeting us with homemade muffins and wine, offering local tips and even cooking us some local lobster! The house is a little bit of an extra drive in, but it was worth it for those peaceful views. Sally and her husband live just upstairs and were always accessible if we needed anything. Thank you so much again for a lovely stay!

The apartment is very clean and updated. It has all the essentials in the kitchen including tea and coffee. Very good location, walking distance to Center 200 and downtown shops and restaurants. We would not hesitate to recommend.

Just a few minutes from the Canso Causeway off the Trans Canada Highway. Clean, comfortable, quiet, private, spacious, extremely well-equipped, with good heating and cooling systems. Helpful house manual with restaurant menus. Wonderful large shower. New washer and dryer much appreciated after a week on the road. Highly recommended.

Beautiful stay on the water! Nice and friendly hosts - great quick communication. Easy to access Sydney from here and took a taxi back without problem.

The condo was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. The views from the living room and balcony were even better than the photos, and we loved falling asleep to the sound of the ocean crashing on the beach. Our only regret is not booking a second night!

Place was very modern and spacious. Kitchen was well equipped. Great view of the coast. Rick was very friendly and responsive. We really enjoyed our 3 day stay. I give this place top marks.

It was more than just a place to sleep. Mr. Gillies recommended where to eat, how to catch the ferry to PEI, told us an interesting history of Port Hood, and even advised us on the sunset view. The room was comfortable and well furnished. We will have fond memories of the place and people.

We enjoyed our stay in Port Hood. Wish we had more time there to explore Cape Breton. Very easy to gaze out at the water and lose track of time.

Fara’s home was AMAZING. We loved our stay, it is so peaceful there, her home was sparkling clean, with everything we needed and was really well equipped compared to Airbnbs we’ve stayed at before. Fara was an amazing host, responsive, great communication, left us even a thoughtful treat. She gave us many recommendations about the area and was also quick at responding to our questions. I also really appreciated that she allowed us to come with our Golden Retriever. If we go back to Ingonish, we’d for sure want to stay at Fara’s home again. One more thing that we loved was the waterview from the balcony and the beach access, the beach was beautiful! Thank you again for everything and for hosting us in your beautiful home! 🌊☀️🦮🥾

We are doing a road trip around Nova Scotia and I can honestly say that this is the best accommodation we have stayed in! Beautiful place in beautiful surroundings, great host, nothing lacking. We would have loved to stay here for longer, but need to move on. Completely recommended!!!
