Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Canaan Valley

From the moment we walked into the house, we were in love. The house is set in a private, wooded cul-de-sac and easy to find with the directions provided. The inside is open and spacious but still somehow cozy. The kitchen had everything we needed and all of the best quality. The town of Davis is a short drive away with some delicious little places to check out for meals. We also stopped by Blackwater Falls State Park, just a few minutes past the downtown area. Would definitely recommend this gem if you are planning a stay in the area!

The home has lots of character and charming details. We enjoyed our time and loved cooking together. The living space is open, inviting, and relaxing. It was a great family atmosphere. The tree swing and fire pit were fun. The shower being on the first floor separate from the bedrooms upstairs was unexpected but didn't cause any problems for our group. Also, whoever sleeps in the tree house room should know they'll need to descend a ladder to use the bathroom. This house is super great and the mountains surrounding are breathtaking. We would definately stay again.

We loved staying at Mammy’s Memories so much we can back a second time. Very cozy well equipped house for cooking and recharging after long hikes with our dogs at Dolly Sods and Seneca Rocks. Hope to be back again next year!

We had a little problem! Not her fault! Had a storm and the electric went off. Sherry came right over with lights and was very helpful’ the kids enjoyed no electric for awhile and practiced chess! She has lots of games! We went for the Blue snd z gray Reunion! Great!

Excellent accommodations. We were 5 adults, 2 toddlers, an infant and two dogs and there was plenty of room for everyone. The kids enjoyed the spacious first floor for their magna-tile and lego projects and the adults were happy at the large dining table. The outdoors were quiet, spacious and plenty of opportunities for the kids to run around. We used this location as a central point for the high peaks hike in MD and WV, an excellent location. Also visited Blackwater Falls and Seneca Rocks - amazing natural wonders. Would definitely rent again if in the area.

This house was a great basecamp for our two families. We had plenty of room for the 3 kids and all of our (5 adults) biking gear. A fantastic mud room made it easy to keep the house clean and organized. The kitchen was roomy enough for us too.

Nice homely place! We enjoyed watching the hummingbirds on the neighbours feeder. Cathedral state park is worth a visit,the big old hemlocks are beautiful.

My wife and I needed a trip away from the city for the long holiday weekend where we could enjoy some good activity in peaceful surroundings with our dog. This cozy pedestal cabin in Black Bear Resort was just what we were looking for. Check in was easy by picking up the keys at the resort lodge. The place had everything we needed to a cook a couple nights for ourselves, including the gas grill on the deck. The wall-mounted 4K flatscreen TV with Roku let us relax after three active days out and about in Canaan Valley while we listened to the thunderstorms roll over the mountains each evening. This would certainly be a fine place for folks (especially with kids -- there were two sets of bunk beds in the loft) to use a base for their WV adventures any time of year!

Great place super close to Timberline, Canaan Valley and Whitegrass. Home is clean and comfortable, with a well appointed kitchen and lots of games and entertainment for bad weather.

Staying at Megan and Abby’s cabin was such an amazing experience. The place was impeccably clean and looked exactly as the pictures described it. Megan responded quickly and kindly when I asked about a door that needed to be unlocked. The Bear Lair Cabin stay will live my best memories.

The Verde Mountain Cabin is a cozy, comfortable home that is close to Thomas, Davis, and all of the great outdoor activities in the Canaan Valley. It was a great place to stay to explore the trails and towns in the area, and the resort area that surrounds the cabin is quiet and peaceful with nice views. Brooke and the Platinum Pineapple Group are also very responsive and helpful.

Great cabin. Perfect for the 2 of us and our small pup. We have stayed at many cabins at Black Bear, and this is one of the best. The view is definitely the best view. The cabin has many upgrades and the kitchen is well stocked. We cooked several meals and we had everything we needed. Being next to the horse farm is super cool. The horses were always right next to the cabin in their field and it was just amazing to be that close to them. The AC worked great. Bring bottled water or use the pitcher (brita style) provided in the fridge. It was quiet and the cabin only has a neighbor on 1 side. Good communication with Cameron. The spa was great after a day of hiking. The mattress in the main bedroom is firm. Great Stay!

This is the perfect place to get away. Madeline was fantastic about messaging us and letting us know what to expect, things to do, and info about the house. She also is one of the most thoughtful host we’ve encountered. The space was perfect for what we were looking for. Comfortable bed, stocked with essentials, looked just like the photos, and had some extras we were not expecting. The road to the cabin is steep and unpacked, but Madeline let us know about before we arrived so we knew what to expect. We were so grateful that we could bring the dogs with us. The location is perfect if you want a quiet getaway. It was about an hour away from Luray and the Shenandoah NP entrances.

Great stay for my family and close to Black Water Falls and Favis, WV.

This was the perfect place for a quick weekend getaway with my husband and our 11 and 14 year old boys. The cabin is cozy but we never felt cramped. We especially loved being able to hang out outside around the fire pit, take in the gorgeous scenery, while dipping in and out of the hot tub. We took advantage of the proximity to hiking trails and drove to the Landis trailhead for a hike up to Chimney Top. Super responsive hosts who were quick to answer any question we had. We would absolutely come back here!

Mark was a great host! It was a last minute stay and he was very responsive. We had a toddler that made some noise and he was very understanding and friendly as we arrived late and made some noise. Will definitely stay again.

This place was a beautiful home right on the River with a gorgeous view! We come to WV every year for a family reunion and this has been the nicest place so far. It was the perfect location everything in Davis is walkable- and then just a short drive to Thomas and Canaan. This was one of many houses on Riverplace we rented and we are looking forward to booking again next year!!

A great place with a great view. Even when the weather was a bit stormy, it was still neat to watch the sheets of rain blow through the valley from the tower. Our only complaint is that all 6 of us found the beds to be too hard and the pillows to be uncomfortable, but everyone has their own opinions on what is a comfortable bed. They just weren't for the best for us. Otherwise we had an excellent stay soaking in the views- even if it had to be from inside.

Otter's Den is quiet, scenic, and relaxing. A large, comfortable house surrounded by forest with no neighbors in sight. Nicely equipped kitchen plus a large back deck for grilling and basking in the pristine hot tub. My wife and I especially enjoyed coffee in the rocking chairs on the covered front porch one quiet, rainy morning, listening to birdcalls and the nearby babbling stream. There is plenty to do in the area year-round -- lovely hikes in Dolly Sods wilderness and in 2 nearby state parks, one with a spectacular heated outdoor pool and a nice golf course. And winter sports abound with 2 downhill ski resorts and several cross-country trails within minutes. We haven't found a better way to get away -- we will definitely be back.

We loved our stay here! We felt right at home in this lovely little cabin. It was especially wonderful to have our dogs welcome, with no hidden fees like so many other places do! The space was thoughtfully laid out, artfully decorated, and well provisioned! There were welcome extras like local meat for purchase in the freezer and a totally stocked pantry in case anything was forgotten. We plan to return!

The unit was located in a wonderful area. There was a parking area at the top to walk into Dolly Sods. After a week at the beach the weather was refreshing! The beds were comfortable! Being able to take my dog was a plus. When back in the area I can’t imagine looking for a different place. This one was perfect!
