House vacation rentals in Bowness-on-Windermere

Lynda is a brilliant host and had tea, coffee, milk and fruits ready for us before we arrived. The place was very clean and felt like home. Kids loved the place and the board games. The icing on the cake is the location as, it is next to Ocean edge. She responded promptly for any questions we had. We have enjoyed our stay here and will definitely return back if we visit surrounding places. Thank you very much for hosting us Lynda, we had a great time.

Gorgeous cabin which is pristine and well equipped. Lovely, peaceful area and close to all attractions. Jennifer was highly responsive and was very flexible with us and our newborn baby. Exceptional service. Will definitely use Jennifer again! Thank you so much.

The lodge was fabulous, really enjoyed our stay. I even picked up a couple of decor ideas. Had a lovely time feeding the ducks, swans and other wildlife, very relaxing. Shops and amenities easy to get to by car, lovely restaurants around the area. Would absolutely recommend.

Extremely pleasant week in Kendal and surrounding area using Cathy’s lovely accommodation as our base . Fully equipped , very comfortable , lovely decor and the bonus of private parking blended with some very fine weather all added into a perfect week for our family holiday get together. Highly recommended to anyone wishing to be close to amenities within lovely surroundings…..

A really lovely Airbnb set in a lovely location conveniently situated about 15 minutes walk from Windermere town Centre We found the property to be exactly as described in the reviews and we couldn’t fault the place.Everything we needed was at hand and the amenities at the property were really excellent.. The house was spotlessly clean, modern and excellently maintained. We found the lovely secluded garden a lovely place to meet for afternoon/evening drinks in the sunshine.. We did experience very cool and inclement weather for the month of June and the addition of Sky/Netflix TV and central heating a great addition for our holiday.. The host was very accommodating and easy to contact at the end of a text or a telephone call. Would I recommend this property? Absolutely !! It’s just a really lovely Airbnb

We had a lovely family time at Kempton House. The location is great just 10 minutes walk to the Windermere pier. There are lots of restaurants around. Lovely decorations, stylish dining room and living room. It’s children friendly too. Georgie provides cot and a bucket of toys, which is very helpful to keep the kids busy. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

This place exceeded our expectations. Immaculate, spacious, great location. Although it was bank holiday weekend it was so peaceful in the boathouse yet very close to the town. We loved it - a great place to meet up with friends!

One of the most beautiful Airbnbs I’ve ever stayed in! I was truly awestruck by the attention to detail Lorayne put into every aspect of the home. From the warm welcome with wine and a personalized note, to the luxurious hand wash, lotions, high-end toiletries, beautiful linens, and a fully stocked kitchen—everything felt so thoughtful and premium. The home itself has a warm, elegant vibe and is nestled in a serene community, within walking distance to great restaurants and shopping. It was the perfect setting for a relaxing stay. Lorayne was extremely responsive, kind, and considerate throughout our stay. She even offered us a late check-out knowing we had a long drive ahead, which we really appreciated. I couldn’t have asked for more. I ended my trip feeling refreshed and grateful. Thank you, Lorayne, for such a wonderful experience!

Fantastic stay with grown up family . Extremely clean and well presented. Suited us, as 5 adults, perfectly . As a family that tends to cater for ourselves when away the kitchen was so well stocked . Providing cleaning products for the kitchen and shower gels and hand washes in the bathrooms was a nice touch . Enough parking for our two cars . Will definitely stay here again.

A beautiful house in a lovely setting, great for family get togethers, location right on the lake was amazing, & easy access to lovely local town of Glenridding for essentials. Wide range of facilities at the cottage, we really enjoyed the private outdoor eating area next with the wood fired outdoor grill. Very nice well appointed kitchen with quality appliances, bathrooms clean and with quality fittings. Outside garden/woodland area was perfect for us and our dog, although the many steps and steep paths would not suit everyone, but this factor is clearly explained in the information host provides. We found some rooms a little dark, especially on a rainy day but there are some lovely lamps which can be moved around if required. Overall I would recommend this cottage as a great place to stay & enjoy the lake district and all it has to offer.

An amazing property and beautifully presented. Everybody we met in passing on arrival was so helpful and clearly took pride in the property and wanted to make sure we were ok and happy. Sarah communicated with me quickly and clearly from booking to check in day and could not be more attentive. The location was perfect. So quiet and peaceful. We had the best week. The weather was up and down but we absolutely made the most of it. The house is kitted out for all eventualities; games, DVD'S, Netflix/Prime etc and badminton and games for outside. So close to the centre, very easy walk in especially if you need to stock up at tesco, you can get there and back in 15. Clear instructions for the property, things to do, useful numbers and very quick responses from Gill and Mark. You can see the jets fly over from the balcony. Absolutely recommend The Little Ice Cream Shop in town. Would definitely come back here again! Thanks Gill and Mark!

Location can’t be beaten, in the centre of Bowness on Windemere and minutes from the lake. As others have mentioned, a little dated but a comfortable and clean stay. We had 5 adults, 1 toddler, 1 newborn and 2 dogs and enough room for us all - would recommend.

Nice clean cottage in a peaceful location. Host was very responsive to pre-check in requests. Great couple days had in Grasmere.

Beautiful home, surrounded by amazing gardens. Never been to an Airbnb that had more facilities and extras - from bbq and fuel to loads of condiments, to all of the leisure requirements you may need. Watching the wildlife on a morning and evening was beautiful and tranquil. Thank you Joel for sharing your home with my family.

We had a really lovely time. Beautiful accommodation and very comfortable. Great hosts. Perfect base to explore the Lakes. Lots to do within walking distance. Would 100% recommend to anybody. Wish we could’ve stayed longer. Hopefully we’ll be back one day.
