Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Blackwater Falls

Beautiful location with graat and easy access to the amazing towns of Thomas and Davis as well as the beautiful Canaan Valley and surrounding region. Zygmund was a wonderful host who took my numerous mistakes in stride working with me to resolve them. Communication was an absolute breeze. I highly recommend this location and host!

We loved staying at Mammy’s Memories so much we can back a second time. Very cozy well equipped house for cooking and recharging after long hikes with our dogs at Dolly Sods and Seneca Rocks. Hope to be back again next year!

We had a little problem! Not her fault! Had a storm and the electric went off. Sherry came right over with lights and was very helpful’ the kids enjoyed no electric for awhile and practiced chess! She has lots of games! We went for the Blue snd z gray Reunion! Great!

My husband and I were looking to spend a relaxing weekend away with our dog, and the “Maine retreat” fit the bill perfectly. The cabin is on a quiet cul de sac in a peaceful area yet just minutes away by car to local activities, restaurants etc..Cabin was clean and thoughtfully stocked with anything you might need! I noticed they even had birthday candles!

Great as always. That porch is the place to be! Can’t wait for next year.

Boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay. Accommodations were excellent. We really didn’t need anything but groceries and liquor :) The home had everything we needed (kitchen supplies including food containers, variety of seasonings, kcups, tea, keurig, hair dryer, washer/dryer) and didn’t think we needed (Qtips, hot tub towels, cleaning supplies, including laundry pods and dryer sheets, Netflix, Prime, grill accessories). The fully equipped kitchen, grill, and hot tub were bonus features for us. We will book again.

Wonderful and conformable 2 night staying for our family of six while attending an event at WVU. The home was spotless and well cared for. Appreciate the fresh fruit and the kids loved feeding the pigs.

This was a quiet, secluded, serene stay in a place that is comfortable and clean. Todd was attentive and reachable and very friendly. We appreciate that we were able to have our dogs accompany us on our visit!!

My wife and I needed a trip away from the city for the long holiday weekend where we could enjoy some good activity in peaceful surroundings with our dog. This cozy pedestal cabin in Black Bear Resort was just what we were looking for. Check in was easy by picking up the keys at the resort lodge. The place had everything we needed to a cook a couple nights for ourselves, including the gas grill on the deck. The wall-mounted 4K flatscreen TV with Roku let us relax after three active days out and about in Canaan Valley while we listened to the thunderstorms roll over the mountains each evening. This would certainly be a fine place for folks (especially with kids -- there were two sets of bunk beds in the loft) to use a base for their WV adventures any time of year!

Staying at Megan and Abby’s cabin was such an amazing experience. The place was impeccably clean and looked exactly as the pictures described it. Megan responded quickly and kindly when I asked about a door that needed to be unlocked. The Bear Lair Cabin stay will live my best memories.

This was our 4th time staying here and it was perfect as always….thanks for everything we hope to be back next year!

My wife and I had a great long holiday weekend with our pup at this cabin in Black Bear Resort. The entire place was wonderfully updated and perfectly situated within the resort property. The updates Brooke and company have done to this cabin are perfect. The kitchen provided lots of space for us to make our meals and to sit down to eat. We did, however, choose to grill and eat outside on the lovely deck with high top chairs and railing table top to enjoy the lovely WV sunset and listen to the music up the way from Saddles and Smiles. Brooke and her team were proactive in providing needed information to seamlessly check in plus check out the things to see in nearby Davis and Thomas. I'd recommended seeing a show at the Purple Fiddle like we did!

When our plans shifted a little bit, Cameron was so helpful as we figured out how to adapt our plans. We appreciated it so much. The cabin is delightful and the view is stunning. We loved the coziness, the jacuzzi, and the beautiful deck overlooking the mountains and the wetlands that make Canaan so unique. Absolutely wonderful stay.

Great vacation. Wendy was the best host we have ever had—responsive and generous. The house itself was one of the best stocked rentals we have ever been in. We loved the use of the kayaks and would absolutely come back to enjoy Alpine Lake here again. Very relaxed, friendly vibe within the whole community.

This is the perfect place to get away. Madeline was fantastic about messaging us and letting us know what to expect, things to do, and info about the house. She also is one of the most thoughtful host we’ve encountered. The space was perfect for what we were looking for. Comfortable bed, stocked with essentials, looked just like the photos, and had some extras we were not expecting. The road to the cabin is steep and unpacked, but Madeline let us know about before we arrived so we knew what to expect. We were so grateful that we could bring the dogs with us. The location is perfect if you want a quiet getaway. It was about an hour away from Luray and the Shenandoah NP entrances.

Home was stunning and the host was so kind to allow me to check in early when i needed to. Communication was great and we had everything we needed. The woods on the outside of the property make it feel very cozy, would be happy to stay again

From the moment we walked into the house, we were in love. The house is set in a private, wooded cul-de-sac and easy to find with the directions provided. The inside is open and spacious but still somehow cozy. The kitchen had everything we needed and all of the best quality. The town of Davis is a short drive away with some delicious little places to check out for meals. We also stopped by Blackwater Falls State Park, just a few minutes past the downtown area. Would definitely recommend this gem if you are planning a stay in the area!

Mark was a great host! It was a last minute stay and he was very responsive. We had a toddler that made some noise and he was very understanding and friendly as we arrived late and made some noise. Will definitely stay again.

The home was perfect for a family getaway! The views were amazing and my older kids could not get enough of the hot tub! Check-In was a breeze thanks to the keypad. Matt and Nancy were quick to respond to our questions. There was so much to do within a few minutes drive, checking out the towns of Davis and Thomas, enjoying beautiful hikes through nature. I was so thrilled to finally be staying in a rental home that was quaint but not cluttered, had enough hooks, pots, coffee maker and Keurig, and knives that were actually sharp. The home was well equipped with a pack and play for our little one and board games for the adults. There were some spices but I think the cleaning crew clears out any condiments in the fridge. So, you really have to bring everything you'll need for cooking. We didn't use it but there were waffle makers and a sandwich press. The road the house is on is easy to miss because of a little dip in the road so keep an eye out! My kids are already asking to go back!

We loved our stay here! We felt right at home in this lovely little cabin. It was especially wonderful to have our dogs welcome, with no hidden fees like so many other places do! The space was thoughtfully laid out, artfully decorated, and well provisioned! There were welcome extras like local meat for purchase in the freezer and a totally stocked pantry in case anything was forgotten. We plan to return!

I really enjoyed staying here. There were so many thoughtful little details that caught my eye throughout the stay. I loved that it was pet friendly, and the photos of the host’s pets added such a warm, personal touch. I didn’t bring my dog this time, but I definitely would in the future and would recommend this spot to fellow pet owners. The gas grill and fireplace were fully stocked, which was much appreciated. It was also nice to have condiments and essentials available in the kitchen—it made everything feel easy and welcoming

It was our first time camping, and we had an amazing time. The forest was beautiful and our kids had a blast playing in the river. Vince and his friends were very outgoing and made us feel right home. Thanks for everything!

Amber was wonderful. I was in a hurry and did not fully read the listing. So was not expecting a total off grid experience. If I was looking for off grid glamping this is exactly what I would expect and would be a great few day getaway from the hustle and bustle. The view in the morning was spectacular. Wish I could have stayed longer and didn't have to work while I was in the area.

This place was perfect! Location was great, extremely easy to find and close to everything that we had planned for this trip. Beds were comfy and the fans were a added bonus (cant sleep without them). Unfortunately, with our limited time, we were not able to take advantage of the beautiful back porch. Would definitely stay here again!!
