Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Beara Peninsula

Fiona’s place was absolutely perfect: the location, the house itself, the views, the unexpected walkability with a restaurant, *two* beaches, food trucks and saunas all within reach. This was our first overseas trip with our young daughter and I honestly couldn’t dream of a better first stop to kick it off. We added an extra day and I’m so glad we did! Thank you, Fiona and family.

We absolutely loved Catherine’s cottage. After staying in dozens of Airbnb’s over the years all over the world, this one stood out. We loved the peaceful location with beautiful views, animals, and walks. It was a great base for visiting the Ring of Kerry and the vicinity. I really appreciate the extra touches that make a place feel like home. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need to make meals. We especially loved the sunroom and beautiful landscaping. We were sad to leave!

Martin and Bridgette were excellent hosts. 3 things we look for are cleanliness, comfort and quiet. We got these in abundance. The view from the house was stunning and seeing all the deer in the garden was very special. Good base for touring the penninsulas with great food in town. Lavinia’s house was wonderful. At the perfect half-way spot on the Ring of Kerry. We stepped out the front door and saw the most beautiful starry sky at night. So close to Darrynane Beach, our favorite beach in all of Ireland. We enjoyed the hike behind the house, with the most beautiful views. The house is clutter free with lots of space for our personal things, perfectly clean and has lots of farm house charm. Both bathrooms worked well, plenty of hot water. My kids loved playing fetch with Holly. Plenty of space in the well stocked kitchen for family meals. We highly recommend!

This was such a generous space for 7 adults and 4 children under 11. The weather was amazing so we made full use of the lovely back garden and its gas barbecue and in the evening the fire pit. The kitchen had every piece of equipment imaginable and loads of plates and cutlery etc The view out the back was the mountains out front the sea and further the Iveragh Penninsula in County Kerry. We had food from the food truck at the next door pub and lunch at O Neills in Allihies. Of course crab sandwiches with the wonderful Adrienne at Mc Cathy’s bar in Castletownbere. Walks to Cleanach and the Arches, swims at Travara and the cable car for some thrills. A special and generous place. (It would be wonderful if there were a safe off road path to the little beach or some provision by the county council to make the road more pedestrian friendly).

We spent four unforgettable nights at Seaview House and couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The panoramic views of Derrynane Bay and the Skellig Islands were absolutely breathtaking, and the peaceful setting made it the perfect retreat. The house was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed to cook several meals at home. After long days of hiking and sightseeing, we really appreciated the comfy beds and hot showers. We loved watching the sheep graze just outside and taking the short walk to the nearby pier, where we met friendly locals and even found some sea glass on the rocky beach. The location is ideal—close to Caherdaniel and beautiful beaches, but still quiet and relaxing. With easy access to the Kerry Way, Skellig tours, and nearby historic sites, this home is a perfect base for exploring the area. We truly loved our time here and would highly recommend Seaview House to anyone looking for a scenic and peaceful getaway on the Ring of Kerry.

What a wonderful, cozy place with fantastic garden and water views! Extremely convenient as a base while exploring nearby areas. Very nice touches with fresh flowers, bread and wine! Hope we are lucky enough to return someday! Thank you Gavin!

From the moment we stepped onto the path to the cottage, we were transported to a place of tranquility and beauty. Greeted by yellow and red roses, and an incredible view of pasture, harbor, and hills, we wished we had more time to spend here. Shelagh and Joe are responsive and attentive hosts. They were generous with ideas on memorable walks from the cottage and where to eat out. The cottage includes all the amenities needed. It’s cozy, clean, and welcoming. While outdoors on property, we spent most of time between the comfortable patio and the bench by the Rectory, each with spectacular views

great location. beautiful surroundings. we visited on motor bike such a great base to go off and explore. safe and secure parking. very helpful host and nothing was too much.

Just spent 4 nights at Tessa's place, but could have spent lots more. Very nicely decorated, clean and comfortable, with all the facilities needed, including a washer and dryer. Not far into Kenmare, probably walkable for most people (maybe 20-30 minutes. ) The Beara peninsula is lovely, and Derreen Gardens is definitely worth a visit. Plenty of places to visit at no great distance (Kilarney, Sneem, Whitestrand Bay etc.)

Well appointed, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Add to this a lovely location and great view over Bantry Bay and it all makes a compelling option for a stay in this area. It would have been nice to stay for a few days and explore - maybe next time!

Comfortable accommodation in a great location. We met Paul and he was really helpful with local places to go. This is a beautiful part of the country.

Mary was a true delight and the space was ideal for travellers. All the comforts of home and extremely comfortable. Highly recommend!

We had a great time. Anne was lovely, really helpful and provided great recommendations for local attractions. The apartment was very spacious, and matched the photos. Anne provided a very generous welcome pack which was greatly appreciated after a long drive. The area was very scenic and peaceful, and a great access point for the Beara peninsular. I would highly recommend staying here.

John was communicative and helpful from the get go. His place was easy to find and access. As others have said it is in the heart of the town, making it close to everything, but also a bit loud on a weekend - a white noise machine took care of all that though. Great spot and very convenient!

Great place to stay, beautiful location, within fairly close proximity to the lovely local town of Killorglin with lots of lovely restaurants and pubs. I would recommend the accommodation, it was spotlessly clean, very well set up, comfortable, spacious and bright with fabulous views!!

A “must” to stay at! Julie was the ultimate host! Any request was not an issue for her. The place was spotlessly clean, with easy to use amenities. It looked lovely and it felt lovely! We did not want for anything! It was an easy 30 minute stroll to the town centre too. Highly recommended!

A cosy but spacious little nest surrounded by gorgeous scenery The location is absolutely fantastic as it is so close to the town center of Killarney, the entrance to the ring of Kerry and an hour away from Dingle, which was our next stop Mike and Sinead were the most amazing hosts as they provided us with lots of information and recommendations Highly recommend

What can we say . We got there very late on the Friday night well it was after midnight night . Where we were meet by a very pleasant host . Showed us around where we were staying . Very clean and warm even give us some milk for a cuppa. The places is set in a beautiful setting .

John's place is perfect to explore Killarney National Park. The house has everything you need to enjoy your stay. We were even greeted with fresh fruit and milk on arrival. You need a car to get around, bit Killarney is only about 10 minutes away. We would definitely recommend staying here to explore the area.

Bridie was fantastic, met us at check-in and suggested where to go for dinner - she also helped us map our route to the Cliffs of Moher the next day via the ferry. She was so kind and we felt right at home. The cottage is fantastic. I just wish we spent more than one night!

An excellent stay! This was a great home base while visiting the Skelligs - a quiet spot but still an easy walk into Cahersiveen, and a short drive to Portmagee where most of the boats leave from. The space was very clean and just as described. The unit is downstairs from a larger home, but felt fully separate and I didn’t hear a peep from anyone else in the building. Having both laundry and the kitchen was convenient - both worked well and were nicely stocked. John was also quickly responsive to any questions. Overall, no complaints at all and highly recommend a stay here if in the area!

Staying with Carmel is OG Airbnb, where there is actually a local host not an off-site corporation who owns the property you’re staying in. Carmel was wonderful and so welcoming. I was traveling alone and I really appreciate when it feels like I could reach out to the host if I have trouble without being a bother. The place itself is spectacular. They also have an actually stocked kitchen with more than just salt and pepper, which is soooo grand because you don’t have to spend money on an entire bottle of oil or butter or jam for a couple of quick meals. I hope to go back one day!

The house was fantastic and Nick is a great host with custom made recommendations about cycling and hiking in the neighbourhood.
