Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Batson Creek

The Lair is a lovely Air BnB close enough to the coast and Salcombe to enjoy the area, but far enough away to avoid the crowds (and price tag!). We ate there a couple of nights and the kitchen facilities were great. Walkable (but uphill) from Hope Cove where we had sourdough pizza on the beach from a local converted horse trailer. The garden is fully enclosed which was brilliant - so nice to be able to let the dog out for a wee without having to wander around in PJs and slippers in public with him on a lead! The car parking is also within the enclosed space so letting the dog in and out of the car was also convenient and safe. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit the South Devon coast.

Fantastic location and property, photos do not really do it justice. Would defintely return and recommend to all. Access is on very narrow lanes but being on the coastal path and having such a fabulous beach on the doorstep meant our cars could stay parked for most of the stay. Listing states BBQ is gas - it's charcoal, helpful to know if planning a food delivery

We had the most amazing week with our 4 boys at The Old Guard in May. We have been renting various properties in Hope Cove for many years. Wendy's property is now our absolute favourite!! Not only did we have fabulous weather but the location is just perfect for getting out on the kayaks etc The warm outdoor shower is brilliant for when you get back! The balcony is very large and a great space! The views from the balcony are spectacular and the sunsets incredible. The kitchen had everything you need. They utility area with washer and dryer is very useful staying with a family. The property was really well designed & clean and comfortable to stay in. Wendy had said the parking would be tight, but we got our 2 vehicles in no problem just a bit of time to go back and forth and one is a long wheelbase Mercedes Vito! We would definitely recommend staying here and would love to come back again! Thank you Wendy for all your messages and prompt replies when we had any questions.

This is our 2nd stay at Bay View House. As a multi-generational family group, we all enjoyed it last time and had another fantastic time this time. The balcony is perfect for watching the world go by for those who don't fancy or can't manage lots of exercise. Whilst Salcombe has plenty to look at and there are the beaches and local Overbecks garden to explore, for those that like to get out and about. Almost all bedrooms have their own ensuite bath/shower room and the main living area has space to spread out. We hope to be back again next year!

Haven offers an excellent family home central to Salcombe and local amenities. The spacious bedrooms, open plan living and well resourced kitchen provided everything we needed to thoroughly enjoy our holiday. The check in process was straight forward, excellent communication from the host and local information contributed to our enjoyable stay.

A really comfortable house. Really well equipped kitchen Luxury bedding and towels Excellent tech - Wi-fi, Bluetooth speaker and tv Relaxing view over the harbour Fantastic cafes and restaurants just down the hill. Gorgeous beach a 3 minute drive or 25 minute walk and a tranquil, secluded beach across the river by an every 10 minute ferry. Easy paddle board and kayak launching in the harbour - a 10 minute walk. Suits active families or quieter groups.

We had a cousin's wedding in Salcombe and it was the perfect place for our family to stay. We loved the quiet area where Poachers Pocket is located, the view of the creek from the living room and the top bedroom is special and it was a perfect short attractive walk along the edge of the creek into Salcombe with all its vibrancy and fun. We met some friendly neighbours and some of us bravely took a dip there at high tide. We will always have some really good memories of our few days there.

We had a fabulous stay in this gorgeous old Victorian House overlooking Salcombe Harbour. The house was well equipped with everything you could possibly need. We loved the beaches and cliff walks nearby and would definitely love to revisit.

Such a great place to stay. It is spotless and Jaquine has thought of everything that you might need from a bottle of fizz to salt and pepper etc. Such a short walk to the beach and famous fish and chips. The scenery is stunning and the location is quiet and relaxing. Fantastic to visit many places of interest nearby.

Perfect 2 day stay for a wedding in the area. Kairen was super quick to respond to any questions and offered early check in if needed. Lovely place with every amenity we could have needed including a magical milk frother and some very thoughtful welcome snacks which were much appreciated after a long drive! Kairen was incredibly friendly and a delight to chat to, the majestic Percy the cat was also a particular highlight. Would definitely stay again if we were in the area, thank you again!

Chris & Sally are so friendly and helpful such a lovely couple and extremely welcoming …the accommodation was very luxurious and everything we needed for our stay the fridge was even stocked up with essentials so we didn’t have to go shopping when we arrived!! They went over and beyond to make us feel comfortable…absolutely amazing views…We shall have no hesitation in recommending this AirB&B to friends and family…one of the best ones we’ve stayed at!! Had an amazing stay!! Susan was extremely prompt with the responses and allowed us to have a great time. I was looking for a peaceful weekend away from London and this is exactly what I got. Highly recommend!

Amazing stay at this lovely flat right across from The beach with sea views. The home is super quiet and the tub was amazing to relax after walking around the town. Very close to delicious restaurants like Lobster Longue. The host was so responsive and gave amazing local recommendations for food. And it’s a short 10min walk from the train station if you’re traveling in by. Highly recommend and would stay again.

Fabulous apartment, extremely clean, spacious with quality fittings. Kitchen well stocked with everything you need. The location of the apartment is amazing, sea views to front and views of the nature reserve to the back. The balcony with seating was a great addition which we used every night to watch the sunset. We've stayed at quite a few places in South Devon and this was certainly the best and made for an amazing holiday. Private parking was an added bonus. Hope to be back.

If we could give Julia and the wonderful apartment more than 5 stars we would! From the minute we made contact she was so helpful, friendly and knowledgable. The apartment was just perfect for the two of us but could easily accommodate a third person. It was so modern, comfortable and spotlessly clean and the attention to detail was outstanding, including the welcome pack. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a fantastic stay at Russels apartment. The location is amazing, right on the beach, so we woke to the sounds of the sea every morning. The apartment is big and spacious, bigger than it looks in the photos and the large parking space was a great bonus. The beach is shingle and the sea calm, ideal for novice paddle boarders like me. The staff at the Bay restaurant next door are really friendly and the food was lovely. We visited many of Russels recommended places for food and all were good. There are a few shops very near by and the coastal path makes a great morning walk or run. We will be back x

Our stay at The Loft was perfect from beginning to end. Extremely clear concise directions from Matt made for an easy arrival, with the added bonus of a parking space. The apartment itself is spotless, modern, comfortable and, surprisingly roomy. It is clear that a great deal of thought and design has gone into this property, utilising every last space, nook and cranny with the ultimate result of providing a spacious and full equipped holiday let. Not only was the apartment itself attractive and comfortable, the bonus of a balcony with a view was the icing on the cake! We had three gloriously sunny days here and, needless to say, when we weren’t on the steam train, on the riverboat or exploring Dartmouth, we spent every moment we could on this balcony watching the comings and goings on the river. We absolutely loved staying here and will certainly be back – thank you!

Probably one of the best Airbnb’s we’ve stayed in. Set in a beautiful location and exactly as photos portray it. Great attention has been paid to making it as comfortable as possible. Hosts were very welcoming and welcome pack was much appreciated. We would thoroughly recommend and hope to return.

We stayed at The ApARTment for 4 nights and loved our stay. We were a group of 4 adults and had plenty of space. The setting is beautiful, with great views from the living space of the surrounding hills, down into Dartmouth, and across to Kingswear. You could happily sit and stare at the view for hours! Simon and Theresa were brilliant hosts. Theresa was very communicative via messages and really welcoming when we arrived. Simon had some good recommendations for places to eat. Both were really friendly and relaxed when we bumped into them. All amenities are as listed and we had no problems self catering. The kitchen had everything we needed. The furnishings are comfortable and the whole place was immaculately clean. Finished with an artistic touch, including some of Simon's own work, the decoration is fantastic! It was walkable to Dartmouth for those that dont mind some hills! We wouldnt hesitate to book again, and I'd recommend The ApARTment to anyone.

Accurate description, Centrally located. Excellent communication pre and during our stay, Nia was very helpful in providing information and recommendations whilst visiting Totnes. The studio was just as described spotlessly clean comfortable with everything needed for our short break, I would highly recommend Nia and Primrose Studio as a must if visiting Totnes, Diolch Yn Fawr Amanda and Ian

We had a wonderful week staying at The Courtyard, beautifully furnished and extremely well equipped. Very comfortable upstairs lounge with two balconies to make the most of the views. Plus a lovely courtyard filled with gorgeous greenery making it feel very tropical (and lots inside too). The bed is probably the most comfortable we have slept in! Stoke Fleming is a lovely village with access to the SW coastal path in both directions – the walk to Dartmouth is a must (and get the bus back!) Lots of places to visit in the surrounding area too. Jill’s communication is excellent and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the Courtyard 😊we most certainly hope to return!

We stayed at Diana’s place whilst visiting some friends in Frogmore. The place is immaculate, fully equipped and beautifully furnished with really comfortable beds. Attention to details and cleanliness is beyond expectations. We also really liked the extras such as coffee, tea, biscuits, etc.; we would definitely go back. The location is peaceful amidst beautiful surroundings.

A wonderful property which was perfect for our little family of 3 plus our dog. A superb location which was peaceful and tucked away from the daily chaos. The property was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. Sitting in the hot tub taking in the beautiful view was just perfection. Thank you for a wonderful break, I would definitely return and recommend it.
