Perched on the edge of a tiny island in the Stockholm Archipelago, this unusual and charming wooden house promises a harmonious vacation. Admire the breathtaking views, take a bracing dip, and relax in the sauna; a truly restful wilderness retreat.
“We had a fantastic stay with magical summer weather and stayed for a week. The location was not optimal for our family with two small children (19 months and 1 month at the time of stay), but we were well aware of that. The environment and the surroundings are what make this place fantastic. Anna was a warm host who was quick and easy to communicate with and helped us with logistics and details. We can recommend ordering food products through Mathem who delivers directly to the bridge (at least during the summer and the only option when this is written) so you do not have to transport this yourself. The only thing worth thinking about for those who are interested in living here is that there is no running fresh water, but Anna said that this would be solved during the summer of 2020. The place would also feel good of a little refresh when it comes to surface condition - then it would have been absolutely magical.”
Our modern summerhouse is situated at Oroe in Isefjorden. The house lies on a 'hilly' plot owerlooking Isefjorden almost at the end of a gravel road. From the beach you can fish and swim. And then Oroe is only 1,5 hours drive from Copenhagen. If this house is booked, feel free to see our other house on Orø: https://airbnb.com/h/cozy-summerhouse-in-the-edge-of-a-forest-on-island
“Morten's cottage is like coming to a unique warm and beautiful home in wild nature on Orø. It is a gem and a gem that we fell in love with. The house is decorated with attention to detail and has inspiring personality. You sense that love is put into every nook. We were very positively surprised at how delicious it was to get to and absolutely perfect for us as a small family. Although there are houses all around, the house is decorated so it feels like we were alone on a rocky ground down to the sea. We enjoyed making bonfires, looking at stars from the sofa bed and being by the water. Thanks for this time, we would very much like to come again.”

“We have been fortunate in having many great travel experiences and our stay on this beautiful and unique island is definitely up there with the very best! A true haven surrounded by nature which feeds and renews the spirit. One’s own private space to totally relax, switch off and totally get away from everything. We had a shower heated by the sun every morning which we hung up in the trees, bbq at night which turned into lovely hot fire and a boat to travel around the archipelagos, a rare opportunity to view the outstanding landscape from the sea. Bear grylls would love it here !”
