I agree with another guest’s assessment — the photos don’t do the amount of space justice. Beautiful views. Very peaceful neighborhood in the “off (ski) season.” It was so charming to hear the Tweetsie railroad from the porch (and perfect because it doesn’t run after 4 pm). Well equipped kitchen. Spacious living areas. Comfortable beds. Responsive and gracious host. Couldn’t have asked for more!

All around an amazing place, great to unwind and just relax near the water, but not too far from town to go do something with the family. Hands down one of the best places I’ve been and will definitely be returning! Btw check out Appalachian Caverns, really an amazing place.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Skipping Stones Getaway with our family of five. From the moment we arrived, it felt like a peaceful retreat—surrounded by beautiful views and the kind of quiet that instantly helps you unwind. Christie and Donaven have thought of everything. The house was fully stocked with all the essentials (and then some). From extra phone charging cables to those little items you might forget to pack, it was clear they’ve put a lot of care and attention into making guests feel at home. We spent our days out on the lake kayaking, soaking up the calm and beauty of the surroundings, and our evenings enjoying quality time together around the fire. It was the perfect mix of fun and relaxation. Skipping Stones Getaway is the kind of place you want to return to. Highly recommend for anyone looking to slow down, recharge, and make lasting memories in a truly lovely setting.

Great little place to unwind after a work event in North Carolina. I wanted two extra days in a cozy house with peaceful surroundings. This house was just that. It was quiet, the birds were chirping, you could hear the running creek below. WiFi worked great. Was able to just relax and sink into the extremely comfortable couches. We were able to sleep with a fan on and the windows wide open which was so nice! Town was about 8 minutes away to grab food. I didn’t cook in the kitchen so I don’t have a comment. Overall great stay.

This was our first Airbnb experience ever and I was so impressed. It was like a home away from home. The house was an charming 70's setting. Everything was perfect. Easy check in and out and host was very responsive. Will definitely book this stay again.

This home was beautiful, with a beautiful view. We really enjoyed our stayed here. The house had all the essentials needed. Paul also has a binder put together of all the local things to do or places to go. It was very helpful. The dock is a quick drive down the road (2 mins). We had very spotty service in the area but we didn’t mind.

The place was cozy and clean. The host response was almost instantly as I had a few questions. Due to an unexpected change of plans I checked out early. The host refunded part of my stay and I didn't even request this. I feel the host goes above and beyond.

We found Ann's place to be very comfortable with lots of room indoors and out. She has provided so many amenities, particularly the stocked kitchen. I always pack a bag of extras (paper towels, wraps, spices, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, etc) because so many places are skimpy on that stuff. I'll know next time not to bring a thing! We all enjoyed playing the board games and yard games provided. The hot tub was delightful after the little ones went to bed. The setting is truly gorgeous with views of farms and mountains in the distance. The sunsets were outstanding, as were the stars at night. We were able to drive for nearby hiking and exploring the area towns.

The place is absolutely gorgeous and had everything we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked with spices, utensils, and everything we needed to cook. The location is peaceful and there's ample room in the living space. Can't wait to stay again.

Great location close to town, but outside the noise. Birds in the morning, could watch the clouds from the huge deck all day. Fire table was perfect after a rainy day of hiking. Board games, TV, hope to stay longer next time!

This location was exactly what we wanted. Very private and relaxing with great views. Make sure you bring food as there is only one restaurant, the food and service were great but they are only open on the weekend and we came in Thursday afternoon, had to drive 30 mins back out for dinner. We enjoyed the awesome back porch and hot tub. We definitely had a great time and will return !

This is our second time staying at this lake perfection. Already planning the next trip! The house is truly perfect in every way and has so many amenities that help to make it the most relaxing and fun stay! Wonderful location, well stocked home, best view and space to completely unwind!

The host was incredibly nice and very responsive, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. This is the kind of place you want to return to again and again. I would definitely come back with my family in the future—highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind in nature with all the comforts of home!

My husband and I brought our two pups and we all had a blast! The arcade and retro gaming systems added a fun touch. Super close to Grayson Highlands, so that was a plus.

Very nice peaceful place, great for a family get together. 35 minutes to Boone. Beautiful home. We really enjoyed our time there. Would definitely recommend it. Host is very responsive.

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy and beautiful cabin! We had a group of 8 family members staying for App State Graduation. We had everything we needed for a fun, relaxing, and comfortable family celebration! Quiet, beautiful surroundings with gorgeous furnishings and landscaping. Meticulous attention to details such as labels on the lighting switches, great kitchen appliances, very clean bathrooms and plenty of storage space. Loved the decks, hot tub, and fire pit! Owners were helpful and communicative. Great cabin—highly recommend!
