  • Scenic Mountain Portrait Experience
We'll meet on the Minnewanka Loop in Banff National Park, and introduce ourselves. I send you a map the day before we meet up so we can find each other. You should be prepared for walking, so if your favourite shoes for photos are dainty, bring something sturdy and comfortable along. This is a gorgeous, versatile area with lovely views in all directions. Together, we will create beautiful images of you in our magnificent surroundings. There will be some easy trail walking and playful photos. Conditions (wind, rain, light direction) on our day will determine how our time will be used. During summer months when the road is open, we can go to a historic spot that has many physical remnants of the coal mining history in Banff. You will be encouraged to explore your sides, silly and serious. Bask in the breathtaking vista while you star in your very own photo shoot designed to be both relaxing and fun. You will receive medium sized, printable, shareable image files of our best 20-30 photos in 7-10 days. *Note: This experience is not necessarily private, but is likely to be. The number of guests on this experience is set for 8 so that families can sign up. It's also ideal for individuals, and couples. Please consider choosing the private option for your booking. *Not for weddings or commercial photography*

  • Play with Clay - Make a Pot.
After welcoming guests into the studio and giving a quick tour, I will demonstrate throwing on the wheel and/or hand-building techniques, depending on the preference of the participants. I have four electric wheels and lots of table space and experience to assist you throughout the creative process. Playing with clay is a lot of fun and can be very therapeutic. Every student is different, and everyone receives individual instruction. You may want to think, in advance, about what you'd like to make or just show up and see what happens. You will usually end up with two to three pieces to be glazed in a food safe neutral colour and fired by me. Allow two to eight weeks, depending on my firing schedule, for drying, trimming, firing, glazing, and firing again. Shipping is an extra cost and will require a follow-up email. There is an additional $20 packaging and drop off fee to be paid by you. Totals are generally around $40. I also regularly offer six week sessions if you are going to be in town. Other things to note: Please contact me about availability. If you don't see a time slot that you would like, ask me, and if I can do it I will add it to the schedule for booking. I'm pretty flexible. If you are a group contact me to make a private booking experience as for three to four people there is a 10% discount and a 20% discount for a group of five to eight.

  • Visit Rixen Creek Micro Farm Sanctuary
We'll meet the animals in the small animal enclosure (2 bunnies and 2 turkeys) and the large animal enclosure (2 goats, 2 sheep, and 2 pigs) and we'll spend time hand feeding the animals and petting them. Some are shy, but others are pretty friendly. I can tell you each animals history of how he/she arrived here. If Newton is in a good mood he might do some jumps for us (he's working on his goat agility training) If all guests are over the age of 8 we can also take the goats and sheep out for a walk up the road if you like - they are leash trained! The sanctuary visit is a simple experience...just come connect with our animals, go for a little walk with the goats and sheep, and feed them all some treats :) Your visit can be as long or short as you like. This is a fantastic kids experience and is geared toward kids but adults can participate as well. MONEY RAISED FROM THIS EXPERIENCE GOES 100% TO ANIMAL FEED AND CARE. We are not a for profit farm. Please note: toddlers are welcome on the farm but this experience is best suited to kids ages 3 and up. We've found the under 3's often scare the animals with loud shrieks or sudden movements. Kids under 3 have also sometimes been afraid of the animals. Other things to note You'll be walking over uneven terrain. There is a bathroom in the main residence that guests can use. No cell or wifi service.

  • Private Sail on Okanagan Lake 2 hours
We will meet at the yacht, get everyone comfortable and review safety equipment and procedures. Next, we will depart and hoist the sails! Guests may participate as much or as little as they want. Once sailing, guests will be able to relax and enjoy the experience or help trim the sails. The quiet of sailing will enhance views of the city, the floating bridge, waterfront homes and beaches from the boat, along with possible wildlife sightings. Options to take a swim in Okanagan Lake or stop at a secluded beach are dependent on tour selection. We will then make our way back to the dock with smiles all around. It’s quite possible the guests may have discovered a new interest as a result! Other things to note GST 5% Included in price Tours are weather dependent so may need to be rescheduled on occasion. Weather conditions can change, so come prepared for sun, rain or wind.

  • Visit Honey Bee Queen Inside Her Hive
Bookings to Visit the Queen are now closed for the 2021 season due to unpredictable weather. Please check our re-opening schedule beginning May 2022. We will start off talking about some of the history of Honey Bees, the different types of bees (queens, workers, drones) that we will see in the hive, the bee life-cycle, inner beehive activities, beehive equipment and more. We will then put on bee suits and visit a working beehive to see the bees in real life. Inside the hive we will find the queen and look for eggs, larva and pupa. We might even see a queen laying an egg. When finished at the hive, we will return to the house and answer any other questions about bees. Note: - Honey Bees are very sensitive to cold temperatures. In the unlikely event that outside temperatures drop to less than +5 deg C, the experience will be cancelled with full refunds. Other things to note Guests should be aware that there will be a high number of bees flying about once the hive is opened. This can be very intimidating to some people. Special Experience dates and times can be arranged, please send me a message with your preferred date/time.
