“The place is amazing! It is a bit complicated to arrive, but once there it is beautiful. What we did was buy food at the open market before going up. You can arrive by boat from the port or tmb you can go by tricycle to where there is a road, from there you have to walk half an hour 40 minutes approximately by the beach and then climb 15 minutes until you reach the house. At 15 minutes there is also a restaurant that has cheap prices .. but it is more worth eating at the accommodation since it has a very good kitchen and everything you need to cook. There they have some foods to buy and they are also cheap but if you are more than two days you will not eat very varied. The hosts are very friendly and helpful, we arrived just after the typhoon which left them without light and they were working all day so we could have light the next day .. A place I would return to without a doubt ..”
The beach house is located between Puerto Galera and Abra de Ilog. The village is called Udalo.
“A secluded beach by a small beach town, a nearly private beach with smooth sands and calm waves. That's just the beginning of it. The beach house we stayed in was beautiful. A simple 1 bedroom cottage, with a balcony facing the beach (which is only a few steps away). There is no airconditioner there but there is an electric fan. The kitchen is separate in a small bahay kubo just a few steps away where you can buy various foods, drinks, and such. Nearby are 2 restaurants, and a souvenier shop, ask Chanda or Noli and they will show you where they are. Both restaurants have reasonably priced food and are delicious. The sunrises, sunsets, and views are gorgeous and those along can be well worth the trip. There are various activities on the island where Chanda and Noli will be happy to help you with. *Tips* -There is minimal internet access but calls and texts can still be made -When it is a new moon or when the moon is not too bright during the night, go into the water and make waves with your arms, it'll be a pleasant surprise. -Bring insect repellent, sunscreen and a suitable amount of beach clothes Going to the location may be a chore, but communication with Jhan and Chanda is key to making it smoothly I recommend traveling as early as you can so that you can arrive in the the noon time or mid afternoon. I recommend this place for anyone trying to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and looking for an island paradise to relax and enjoy. To me, this place is the epitome of a tropical island retreat. The vacation to this place was something I will never ever forget and easily a top highlight of my Philippines trip.”
With a view of Mount Malasimbo, a ten minute walk from peaceful Aninuan beach, five minutes by tricycle from Talipanan Beach , five minutes by tricycle from happening White Beach, 45 minutes from Aninuan Falls and only 5 minutes by trysicle from the Mangyan Tribal Village
“Riverside at Aninuan is the best Airbnb I've stayed at in the Philippines and probably anywhere. It's in such a peaceful location surrounded by nature. Aninuan Beach is about a 10 minute walk away. It's a peaceful beach without the traffic of nearby Whites Beach and people bothering to sell you stuff all the time. If you want to go to Whites Beach you can easily walk up the beach past the rocks and arrive there in about 15 minutes. The best part of Riverside at Aninuan are the hosts Macrina and Leigh (and Richelle). They are the nicest hosts I've ever encountered. They are funny, energetic and interesting to talk to. They can answer any question or set up a tour for you or order a tricycle ride for you. They are amazing people. I only planned to stay a few days and ended up staying a week in my air conditioned room, with the bathroom down the hall. I didn't want to leave. The other best part was the food. Macrina is an excellent chef. The free breakfast was delicious and abundant. I paid a small fee for dinners every night. It was better than any food that got in all of the philippines. Always plenty to eat and amazing dishes of food. I highly recommend staying at Riverside at Aninuan. Stay for a day, a week or a month. The longer the better. You won't regret it.”
