This location is very quiet & secret place for vacation home. There is a small Tatami room like a tea celemony room that you can use as yoga, meditation etc. for your private time. However, no kitchen facility. We provide an electric pot,cups,small dishies, refrigerater,toaster, so you can bring some food etc. There is sea and forest view from the guest cottage. (back side is large tea plantation) Cottage is made in Japanese style with aromatic local cedar wood , open beams, and Shoji screens.

Fisherman's living experience inn: Fuku no Ki

Yakushima is famous for mountains, but the sea, fish are also attractive. This inn is a bit inconvenient, but we treat you like family. And you can eat delicious fresh fish. The building is a converted fisherman's barn. We will cook fish together, heat Goemon bath with firewood, and provide you with a stay as if you were living with us. One cooking experience is included during your stay. On other days, you will stay without meals. Optional fishing boat tour (extra charge) is also available.

Winner of the 2024 IDA Design award and the 2025 NY Architectural Design Award, Banyan Retreat: the Nest was designed by architect Tsukasa Ono using only local materials. The Nest sits on three acres of wild forest and garden. It is a sublime base for you to explore Yakushima; it is walking distance to a supermarket, restaurants, cafes, and bakeries, a ten minute drive to world-famous Hirauchi Kaichu onsen, and a twenty minute walk to Onoiada Onsen.

It is close to popular hot springs such as the famous Onoaida Onsen and Kaichu Onsen, and Senhiro Falls and Toroki Falls are within 10 minutes. In addition, it is about 5 minutes by car to one of the few large supermarkets on Yakushima, so it is very convenient for shopping.
