King Eider Inn - Standard Double Beds

I had to cancel due to a blizzard. CP refunded much of the trip and send follow-up emails letting me know how the weather was in Utqiagvik. That helped me make some important decisions about my work trip and let me reschedule some things faster than I would have. It was very much appreciated.
A polar bear hide is displayed across the railing of a loft area, adding an Alaskan touch to the decor. The hide drapes over the wooden banister, with a softly lit space visible behind it, creating a warm ambiance within the home.

Our stay and our visit to Barrow is PERFECT. Our bedroom and the shared bathroom and living room is super neat and beautiful. It was very quiet at night. On the check out day, Susan allowed us to hang around until our flight time. The town is walkable and takes 30 minutes tops to walk to most of the places from the house. Susan makes amazing breakfast and dinner. She gave us many great tips about where to visit in town. She also helped us to book a tour with a local guide to Point Barrow (and we saw polar bears!!). All the other guests are super nice, welcoming and had amazing travel stories. We had so much fun talking to each other during dinner and breakfast. 100% recommended if you want to make friends & learn more about the top of the world!! (ps: when we went there, the internet has been down for a month for the whole town. Make sure you downloaded offline map and saved the address. Airport staff can help you call a taxi to Susan's house, which takes like 4 minutes.)

I would highly recommend staying at Latitude over the other options in town. The accommodations are cozy and comfortable. It’s the best breakfast in Barrow.

BARROW BEACH HOUSE

This home was cozy, spacious, and incredibly comfortable—exactly what we needed after long days out in the Arctic chill. The beds were especially luxurious, making it a joy to come back and unwind. Trevor was a fantastic host: warm, welcoming, and responsive from the moment we arrived. The location couldn’t be better—just steps from the iconic whale bone arch and a short walk to what might be the best cheesecake on Earth. The shower had excellent water pressure, and we appreciated the generous supply of soft, plush towels. Everything about this stay exceeded expectations. Highly recommend!
A polar bear hide hangs over the railing of a balcony, providing a striking decorative element. The soft, light-colored fur contrasts with the wooden railing, while framed photographs are visible in the background. The space showcases unique Alaskana decor, enhancing the atmosphere.

Latitude71 B and B Twin Room C

I am delighted with the hospitality of Susan and Myron. Very comfortable room, beautiful living room. It's hard to describe the food experience in words. Breakfasts and dinners are great. And it's not somewhere in Manhattan or near the Golden Gate. There are no Potomac River or Miami Beach hotels. Arctic Ocean, ascetic coast, wild nature. Every time I crossed the threshold, it was a step into another reality. The reality of the high standards of the American dream at its best. Even if you don't need to go to Utqiavgik, my advice to you is to pack your bags and book a room for the weekend with these wonderful people. Two hours flight from Anchorage is worth so. Good additional reason to visit Utqiavgik - most northern point of the country;)
A polar bear rug, featuring a light-colored fur, is displayed draped over the railing of a lofted area. The surrounding structure includes a white banister and soft overhead lighting, contributing to the ambiance of the space.

King Eider Inn - Standard Queen Room

The Elder Inn hotel was a superb choice overall! It is just outside Utqiagvik airport, so moving around with bags felt like a breeze given the fact that it is right on the only paved road of the town! The room was spacious, had too huge beds and had a perfect warm temperature all the time (much appreciated during my minus degrees stay!). Restaurants are at a 15 minute walking distance as well as the Heritage center and the beach! Also ask the super friendly and heplfull guys at the reception for a local guide recommendation! You will not be disappointed at all! Kudos to everyone working at the King Elder Inn for their always smiling faces!
