西村邸は、奈良町の一画に100年以上たたずむ、昔ながらの奈良町屋です。ここは、ぼくが子どもの頃、長い時間を過ごした「おばあちゃんち」でした。奈良町には、ずっと変わらない心地よい鄙(ひな)びがあります。「これからの世代に、少しでもこの心地よい鄙(ひな)びにふれて欲しい。」そんな想いで、空き家になっていた西村邸を、手入れしました。 - Nishimura-Tei is originally a traditional Japanese house which has been here in Nara-machi town over 100 years, where my grandmother used to live in. My mother and I decided to renovate this house to preserve and pass down the virtue of good old days in Japan to the next generation as well as to show it to you.

We have renovated the bathroom and kitchen areas to make your stay more comfortable while still retaining the charm of the townhouse, such as the low ceilings and narrow, steep stairs. Why not try experiencing a bit of Kyoto life? Please note that we will charge a local accommodation tax (200 yen per person per night) in addition to the accommodation fee. A newly renovated machiya town house with typical layout and a small garden, retaining the tradition of Naramachi - the old merchant town of Nara.
