A 10ftx10ft treehouse built around a hickory tree with a wood deck. It looks over a creek 30 feet below. There are electric switches/outlets and fan/oil heater. Climb a ladder to the sleeping loft with a standard full size bed. The loft has a peak high enough to stand up under. Cook outside on gas grill. No running water but there's a drinking water dispenser. The bathroom is a composting toilet and outdoor shower with solar tank at the end of a 25ft path, adjacent to the treehouse.

Peaceful Escape in the heart of Appalachia

Us and our dog had an excellent time at Carrie’s cabin! The location is very peaceful and led to a relaxing weekend. We spent every morning outside listening to the creek and birds. During our stay, we visited some of the local attractions like Max Patch, Trust General Store, and Hot Springs and had a great time. Carrie was an amazing host and we hope to come back someday!

All this with a very accommodating, understanding and hospitable owners, who let us stay even after Helene's destruction to their bridge. Thank you for the wonderful stay this Thanksgiving 2024.

I had a great time at the tree house. It is a perfect and peaceful stay if you’re looking to unplug. The instructions to get there are clear and I was able to find it easy, even at night. I recommend preloading or saving the directions because you will lose service before you get to boxturtle rd.

Wow, just wow!! This place is even better than the photos. This place is the perfect place to rest and reboot in nature. Along with all of the things to do on the property, such as the trails and disc golf course, the house is just its own slice of Heaven. The garden area is private and the perfect space for mediating, reading or just listening to all the sounds of nature. We didn’t need music because the sound of rushing water and birds was soothing enough! The house is beautiful and clean, and the attention to detail is just something beyond words. If you have time, definitely read some of the Frank Lloyd Wright books scattered through the house, and it will make you appreciate the house all that much more. A good 20% of the trip was just admiring all of the nooks and crannies within the home, from the copper details, wooden bowls made by Kevin the owner, or the different structured wood beams, it all just makes the home it’s own piece of art. I couldn’t recommend this place enough.

The Barn Airbnb was comfortable, clean, and relaxing. Keith provided everything we needed for our stay. He went above and beyond to make us feel at home. He was very accommodating when we asked to have a small wedding dinner on the back deck. We will definitely book this Airbnb again when we come back to the area.

Unforgettable Hot Springs Retreat Near Max Patch

What a peaceful and secluded location. The house was amazing and so close to Max Patch which is what brought us here. Comfortable couches, a fully stocked kitchen, nice hot tub and good cell service which was great being in a remote area. Alex provided thorough directions and check in/out instructions. We will be back at a later date.
