Tips from locals
Just the other side of Winchcombe you will find Hailes Abbey. Why not stop for refreshments at Hailes Fruit Farm shop and tea room.
The centre of monastic life for 300 years, pilgrims travelled to see an alleged vial of Christ's own blood.
Tranquil remains of thirteenth century Cistercian monastery (English heritage). Also visit the even earlier church which has outstanding frescoes and the fruit farm which incorporates the former abbey fish ponds.
