Absolutely beautiful city park (larger than Central Park in NYC!) Free museums, free zoo, free science center, winter ice skating, golfing, hiking, cascades, lakes, boating, archery, restaurants and outdoor theater. Truly something for everyone!
This park is absolutely stunning- 5 minute drive from home. Beautiful views, paddle boarding, boat house, and Art museum.
-Miles of walking, running, and biking paths within the park (6-7 mile run around the perimeter depending on how you milk it) -Golf course, tennis courts, squash courts -Check out the forest paths at the southwest corner of the park
Forest park is probably the gem of STL. They have the Art Museum, History Museum, Zoo, Science Center (all free) plus some other beautiful buildings to explore. In the winter, the Zoo has special Christmas lights and in the summer, there is the Shakespeare Festival plus Broadway shows at the Muny. Pro Tip: The Muny always has free seats! Grab a pizza, some binoculars if you need them, arrive early, and enjoy a perfect STL evening.
