Bistrot La Renaissance

Why locals recommend it

This small brasserie with stained-glass windows and old wooden tables is like a cocoon trapped in time. It hasn’t changed since the ’30s. Quentin Tarantino shot the only Parisian scene from Inglourious Basterds here, the one in which Daniel Brühl explains to Mélanie Laurent that he’s a war hero. Tarantino is a huge film buff and discovered the location after seeing it in the movie Le Sang des Autres by Claude Chabrol.

Typical French Café, where so many movies where filmed since the "decor" is untouched since the 1930s. Better when sunny since the terrasse is open.

It's a great bistrot that was even featured in Tarantino's film "Inglorious Bastards".
