Tea farm B&B (farm-to-table meals & tour included)

GeorgeRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
A wonderful place up in the mountains of Kyoto. You can feel the city fade away and you are enveloped by the smell of grass and sweet tea. The tea tour was extremely fun and interesting. Daiki has excellent answers to any of your questions, and the tea and food is delicious. I enjoyed it so much that I returned 2 years later. tea moon is a wonderfully restored traditional Japanese house that is cozy clean and quiet. You can wake up with a tea bath and a beautiful view of the fields. I would rate higher if possible. Worth every dollar

I had a wonderful time with Yoriko and her Dad . She is the sweetes host I ever got to know . We cooked together, worked at the rice field, did garden work and she never got tired of showing me the area . The house is a beautiful quiet historical place and I had good night rest while listening to the river . We went for glass craft and had some little funny adventure . Yoriko the house and her Dad will always have a special place in my heart

Traditionalhouse,Takeda castle 5min,Kinosaki 50min

We had a memorable stay at this beautiful 120-year-old kominka in Asago. Recently renovated but full of charming old details, it strikes the perfect balance between comfort and tradition. Peaceful, authentic, and deeply “Japanese” — exactly what we were looking for. The Tajima area, including Asago, Toyooka, and Yabu, is full of hidden gems. We saw fireflies and hiked up Takeda Castle, and hope to return for the sea of clouds and the “castle in the sky.” A great stop if you’re heading to Kinosaki or Yumura Onsen. Highly recommended for a true countryside experience in Japan.
An antique wooden staircase leads to an upper level, while a low black table sits in the foreground. A blue vase filled with red berries and two oranges creates a simple yet charming centerpiece, reflecting the traditional Japanese decor of the space.

Our stay at Icy's apartment for two nights was absolutely fantastic! The apartment itself is stunning – it's clear everything is brand new, with beautiful furnishings and a really fancy, modern design that made us feel like we were in a high-end boutique hotel. Beyond the aesthetics, the location couldn't be better. We loved being within easy 15 minutes walking distance of all the major tourist spots, and the surrounding area was so nice and comfortable to explore. What truly made our trip exceptional was Icy, who was an incredibly helpful and responsive host. We felt so at home from the moment we arrived. Highly, highly recommend!

115-year-old Luxurious traditional Japanese house

Wing Yee AmyRating, 5 stars2 months ago
If you're seeking an authentic Kyoto experience, this 110yo house is a must-visit. It offers a unique and charming atmosphere in the beautiful countryside of Miyama. Built during the Showa era, the house has survived significant historical events. Taru and Tina warmly welcomed us and shared fascinating stories about the home. The traditional garden view and the lovingly curated interiors make it feel like a living museum. The bathroom, featuring both indoor and outdoor hot springs, was a highlight, providing a luxurious bathing experience. In the evening, we enjoyed homemade aperitifs and Hokkaido octopus sashimi, followed by sukiyaki cooked in a vintage iron pot with local ingredients. Breakfast overlooking the garden was delightful, and we even spotted cherry blossoms nearby. The peaceful surroundings allowed us to fully relax and appreciate the beauty. For a truly luxurious experience, stay in this historic gem when you visit Kyoto!
